We just purchased this 7021P from our dealer. Our dealer already had it assembled for us, ready to go. We had previously purchased a 372XP chainsaw and a 346XP chainsaw from them and because of their excellent service to us, we went to them for a lawnmower when our 10 year old Walmart special finally fell apart. The first thing you notice with this mower is how light it is. I'm not sure if that's because they made it cheaply, or if it's designed to be so light. Only time will tell, but we're counting on our past experience with Husqvarna to live up to its name, and last a long time - surely longer than the Walmart special. This mower does have a fuel shutoff which is nice. It also has a unique choke design that is supposed to be automatic. It's hard to describe here, but the dealer can show it to you. I have read many reviews on this mower on other websites about people having a hard time starting this mower. I wonder if it isn't because they are all trying to choke it every time? If this mower is warmed up - it starts fine without using the choke. You also don't need to prime it every time. That just floods the engine. I'm guessing this is the case as we haven't had an issue with starting. This mower has about 4 HP if I read correctly. Our old Walmart Special had a 5HP Briggs. The motor still runs on our old one. Everything else fell apart! I'm hoping this Honda runs just as well. This is my first experience with a Honda small engine. So far, there isn't any noticeable difference in power between the 5HP Briggs and this 4HP Honda. We don't worry about mulching. This mower seems to come with a mulching blade. For those who mulch and like to collect the clippings, it is very easy to put the catch bag on the back of the mower. It snaps into place. We don't use it. We use the side discharge. That too snaps into place. We haven't had any issues so far.It is easy to adjust the height on this mower. Our Walmart Special was stiff and it was hard to move the adjusters. This one was easy, but then again it's new. I don't remember the old one being this easy, even when new.I don't know what else can be said about this mower. It mows grass! Oh, it is pretty quiet compared to my old one. That's a plus. This model is NOT self propelled, which is what we prefer. We like having a regular old manual push mower. The large wheels in the back are a plus.My local Husqvarna dealer made this an easy choice. I know if I have any problems, a solution is only a phone call away. As the title says - so far so good! I'll update if we have any issues.

I was excited to get to use my brand new mower, because mowing is a privilege not a punishment. I started mowing and heard the blade hit the deck. I investigated and found it to be hitting at the side discharge chute. The deck is made so cheaply and flimsy that it flexes allowing the blade to come into contact with the deck. This has tarnished my opinion of anything Husqvarna. I bought a Toro.

About Me Professional
Comments about Husqvarna 7021P Push Mower:
Dropped deck to lowest setting this spring on a lawn that was not high and it would not cut low. The deck scrapes the ground and the blade is not cutting low. It is almost impossible to push through grass that is over 2 inches high. The deck is the worst one I have seen in any priced mower. I realize this is inexpensive mower but a stamped deck with good engineering doesn't cost that much more
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

About Me Do-It-Yourself
Comments about 7021P Push Mower:
Don't know why they discontinued this model. Purchased new in the box from local hardware store. Assembly of the handle was easy and straight forward. Put oil in the engine, gas in the tank. Fuel valve open. First pull started and ran great. Every restart first pull, everytime. The roller ball bearings in the wheels makes it easy to push and get around. It is a lot lighter and easier to handle than a self propelled in my opinion. Comes with the Gator mulch blade. Mows great and my yard is not smooth or level. Handle height is great. I'm 6'06" and don't have to hunch over. Can walk upright with a comfortable grip on handle. Mow my .5 acre with out the fatigue with my other mower. Low fuel consumption, less than a quart of gas to mow my yard. Totally pleased with this mower. Love that Honda Engine.

I have owned this mower for 4 years do all the trim work at my home and my Mothers once a week. Everything about this mower is great, only problem was air filter cover fell off while mowing. The tabs on the top were not well designed. Simple fix was drill holes and but sheet metal screws thru the top taps. Very happy overall. Would rate 5 stars if not for the air filter cover.
Great engine, mediocre deck
from Detroit, MI
I bought this mower for a small yard in California, which has bluegrass and a bit of bermuda grass. The Honda engine is outstanding, with first pull starts and quiet economical operation. The wheel adjustment levers are flimsy and harder to use than they should be. The cutting blade doesn't seem as efficient as previous mowers I have owned. Even though I have the mower set to it's lowest setting, it does not bag much of what I cut, and I have to go over it several times to pick it all up. This seems to be a design problem, where a vacuum is not created properly to pull it into the bag.

I am disappointed in the actual "grass cutting" ... I have to go over the grass several times to get a proper cut. I took it back to the dealer and they adjusted the engine speed but it did not help. I took it back to the dealer and we change the blade from an all purpose mulching blade to a straight blade. This helped but I still have to go over the lawn at least twice to get an acceptable cut. On the positive side, it is very easy to start ... it is easy to push, and it is sturdy. It is not a great "grass cutter"!By the way, I have a 42 inch Husqvarna riding mower and it is excellent in every way! That is why I bought the push mower ... I wish I hadn't.

Love the Husqvarna 7021P
from East End
Best working mower I have ever owned. I have had Murrays, LawnBoys and Hondas over the years. This Husqvarna with the Honda engine met my criteria. I am anxious to see how long it lasts but for now it performs with perfection. It starts easy, and sips the gasoline, and is ever-so-quiet. It's easy to push. I don't like weedeaters and have lots of trees to trim around. This mower makes it so easy. I hit the large areas with my rider, and then pull out this sweet little push mower for the up close work. I don't even miss having the self-propelled function. I don't need it with this mower. I think I made a very good choice.

Falling apart after a year
I have simple husqvarna push mower that's less than 2 years old. the back end is coming apart. Blade mount nubs wore off as well. Excellent Honda motor. Deck is junk. Don't buy it. Poor design. Overpriced as well

I have used my 7021P for approx. 5 cuttings now. It works well. The Honda motor is quieter than my old LawnBoy and it is a couple of inches wider. It seems to have sufficient power with the blade it came with. However, that blade is a mulching blade and I don't mulch. I pick up clippings and I will probably purchase a different blade that is not designed to mulch. It seems the mulching blade requires a little slower cutting. A regular blade will just cut and not mulch and will probably be a little faster and not bog when the grass is wet and long. Two other negatives for this mower are: 1) the handle seems to be thinner steel and not as heavy duty like my old mower and 2)one front manual wheel locking latch had to be taken apart and bent more so it would catch in the lock tab to set the wheel height.HOWEVER, none of these problems would prevent me from buying this mower. These are minor problems given what appears to be a very good mower.

Auto Choke System doesn't work very well
I've had nothing but problems with this mower. The Honda engine uses an Auto Choke System that has a few bugs in it. The first day I used the mower, it took me about the whole day to first get it started. Once I did get it started though, it started without any issues after that. The bolts that keep the mower's handlebars on fall off often, and must be constantly replaced or locked on with thread-tight.Finally, the Auto Choke System is extremely fragile. I've owned this mower less than a year and have had to take it in for service twice to repair the auto choke system. There are several light springs loosely attached to the system, and if one falls of or gets bent, the mower will either work at half performance, or burn out the engine.I bought this mower since I wanted something nice that I wouldn't have to worry about repairing for a while, unfortunately I got the exact opposite.
