Run Forest... Run.
After much debate amongst the boys at the barber shop in the great Husqvarna/Sthil debate of 2010, my wife decided to call it quits on the arguement and call up one of my Pop's ol' buddies, a professional logger from Oregon and settled the arguement for us. His company uses them exclusively. I took a mosey over to my local Tractor Supply Store and plunked down the requsite $400.00+tax for this wolf in sheep's clothing. Over the years I've used Craftsman, McCulloch, Echo and Sthil but I have never been as impressed with a machine as I have been this 455 Rancher. With two twenty year old sons and two future son-in-laws rolling rounds, splitting and loading the truck and trailer I managed to keep far enough ahead of them to have a sit and sip coffee while I was refueling/re-oiling and touching up the chain. Easy to start, easy to restart, easy to keep clean, easy to chain swap, easy everything, and fellas, she'll chew wood into sawdust faster than it take to tell it. She's been in the woods a solid year now and cut more firewood than I can remember with no breakdowns other than a busted chain.

Two for the money...
This is my second Husky - bought the first one in '86 and it still runs. Thought long and hard about whether or not I really needed another saw but finally decided on the 455. I have been cleaning up downed pine trees and the saw is simply beautiful - even a 68-year-old can work with this one for long periods of time. And being a Husky, all you have to do is lay it on the wood and it takes over!

The Rancher
I've only used the saw twice. the second day, I was having starting issues and wasn't able to cut that day. i just watched the youtube video on starting the machine and found it very helpful. Can't wait to get back to my country place and give it a try. I think the instruction booklet could be dumbed down for those of us owning our first Husky. including better instruction on changing the chain.

This Chainsaw can do the job
I have to say i've used a couple of different chainsaws but this 455 rancher does the job with ease. Plenty of power. I would definately recommend anyone interested in owning one to buy this one

Amazing...
I have not used this a bunch since I received it, but we just had a big snow and ice storm, and what time I did get to use it, this saw is amazing. It pretty much cut like I was using a hot knife on butter.

Dependable
Starts easy and cuts wood fast. Out of the past 5 chain saws I've had this is by far the best. Never had a chain saw that ran so good in cold weather.

Great saw with spunk!
Great workhorse of a saw. Put to the test many times in tough conditions. My only problem is that my hands are XXL, and often shut down the brake due to leaning forward with the saw. I'd like a bit more room for my hand in gloves on the top handle, without locking her up. Other than that it keeps up with me.
