I'm reviewing on my 54 inch model because the LS models are all the same, just with different deck sizes. I bought this mower because of the looks and overall comfort as well as some cool features. Overall ride and cut quality is beautiful and does a nice job. The LS, or Limited Slip transaxle will tend to push the front tires forward on a tight turn, and may tear some grass, no big deal just don't buy these models if you have a lot of turns and obstacles. I don't have hills so I couldn't tell you how it works on hills but I'm sure it's fine, and the deck stopper that prevents the deck from touching the belts is a stupid idea because its bare steel on steel if the deck collides with it on bumps so it will chip the paint on the deck. The rapidreplace blade system is awesome but the plastic rubber ish caps that protect the clips don't stay on sometimes but no big deal just check them every once and awhile. Mine comes with a 23hp Kawasaki and So far I've had zero issues. Another customer had said something about their mower running for 20 and stalling out. The most obvious problem there is called vapor lock, where the inside of the engine compartment gets so hot it vaporizes the fuel before it can even reach the carb. I did see that if you wrap foil tape around the fuel line, it helps keep the heat away. Just making sure everyone is aware before you buy, especially after 50 hours, it has held up very nice :)

I purchased a yt46ls this past January. I have approx. 3 acres to mow and 1 person on hospice in the house so I need to mow quick. Well mower mows great, ease of use is outstanding, but as soon as my engine gets hot it starts missing. So I drained all gas out and now I have 10 hours on this mower by cutting for 20 and waiting a hour too cool off. When it begins missing if I pull the air filter there is gas under the top side of it.10 hours, over 2,000 dollars and I can mow only 20 minutes at the time. Paid for in cash and under warranty of course.

Good on slopes

About Me Do-It-Yourself
Comments about Husqvarna YT46LS:
I have a lawn with steep slopes. With this machine I no longer have to ride the left side of the seat to avoid speeding down a slope. I also can mow my 1.2 acre lawn without having one wheel spin while the tractor stops. I can climb places and make turns I couldn't with my old mower. The locking differential is very good. I have just gotten the tractor and mowed my lawn with it only once, so I can't comment on its durability, except that it has a powerful engine and the mower looks solid.

80 hours and 2 years of product testing, I love this mower.
from Burnham, Me
I bought this mower 2 years ago. I have been a JD guy my whole life, but I sold my house and had moved. When I went to the local JD dealer they were going to charge me to bring a $2,800 mower to my house so I bought a Husqvarna YT46LS. This machine cuts very well, the lawn is beautiful. It is also easy to service yourself. I agree with the other posts about the stops scratching the mower deck. I am not worried about corrosion but it just looks cr$ppy. I do love the adjustable seat as I am 6'3" and the misses is 5'1" and we are both comfortable on this machine. It steers and handles well. When I bought the machine the deck belt broke in the first few hours. I took it back to the dealer and they even offered to come out and put the new one on if needed, no charge. No problems since. I do wish the deck spindles still had greese zerks on them, but none of them do so, 80hrs so far, no problems and it does a great job! I don't need to recommend this product to my friends and family, they all loved it so much they already have bought thier own Husqvarnas.

Good cut, poor ride
By John h
from Bessemer city
I got this mower for free, I think it's a 2013 (65 hours)The best part is the one I have has a Kawasaki engine. It mows good and the yard looks good but rides and drives like a junk. The front wheels just plow straight when turning, vibrates a lot and not sure how long the hydro will last. I've heard that husqvarnas only last about 100 hours
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Non serviceable waste
from Austin, TX
Replacement parts are hard to find and the air filget a do not exist. After only 2.5 yes, I'm going to have spend another 3k on a mower, because no-one has part for basic service work and the air filter is non existent (thus so clogged now it won't over about half throttle). Have blown it out so much the filter is starting to come apart.
Cant get parts

About Me Professional
This was purchased as an upgrade to an old MTD 18hp twin hydro with a 42" deck. What you get for a few hundred dollars more is well worth it. I love the heavy bumper on the front since I have to mow around a lot of things. A stamped mower deck was good enough for me and I like the two blade system with tool less removal for sharpening since I do it myself. It throws grass about 6 feet out so there is no need to adjust the discharge chute or remove it to avoid windrowing. It has excellent forward and reverse speed. The Kohler engine runs smooth and strong and starts great with the choke feature. Plenty of adjustment on the cutting height. The electric blade engagement is quiet and solid. The transmission is solid aluminum. The turning radius is not as tight as advertised but snakes around obstacles very well usually eliminating the need to backup for missed cuts. The mow in reverse feature is set it and forget it with no buttons to push when backing up! There is no comparison to the box store models.
Good mow, rough ride
By Dennis G
from Pulaski, VA
The mower cuts excellent. I love the way the yard looks once I am done, however, it has to be one of the roughest riding mowers I have ever been on. You can feel every bump in the yard and every time the deck hits the undercarriage. The only real problem I have had was even before the first hour of mowing, the spindle gave out. I had to take it back to the dealer to get it replaced. The bumper guard rubber ends have slid off a couple of times and I have lost one since my last mowing.

Blade quick change mechanism is a joke.
from Grand Rapids, MI
Quick blade change mechanism has fallen apart after about 2 years of use. I would like to convert to the old-style bolt but will probably have to change the spindles too. Weak design. Plastic everywhere.Gas "sight-gauge" is worthless. Never know how much gas is in it. Really sad.

Low initial quality
from Conyers GA
After using for less than an hour the steering wheel started to spin. The bolt that held the gear on the bottom of the steering rod had fallen off. I found it and reinstalled it. I've used the unit for just over 9 hours now and I've noticed that several of the "clearance wheels" around the deck are badly in need of tightening. But the biggest drawback to this model is the rapid release blade change system! What a joke!! All it needs is a little dirt/grass/grit (hello???? It's a LAWNMOWER??) to get lodged in it and it becomes impossible to open the protective shroud. And once open, we (and I'm referring to the mower dealer here....) could not get the shroud to close again!! So, I don't even have 10 hours on the unit and I've replaced to spindles with the old style ones Husky has used before so I can simply change them out with a wrench. Plus, the new blades are 40-50% MORE than the older Husky blades.
