I purchased my YTH24V48 Fast Tractor in May of 2014, to use on my 5-acre, heavily wooded property. I keep two thirds of the property in its natural state to encourage wildlife. The rest is in wild, self-seeding Bahia grass with some wild centipede in shaded areas. This has been the absolute BEST lawn tractor I have ever owned. I have had Craftsman, John Deere, Troy Built, and Snapper lawn tractors, but this one is the absolute BEST! It cuts the grass at high speed ensuring that I am done in record time. It mulches well but in tall grass (3-4 inch thick Bahia with 10 – 18 inch seed stems) you have to slow down, as might be expected, to allow the cuttings to be digested. This beauty takes minor abuse well and handles easily. In the natural areas, I have mowed winding paths through the woods and have mowed over small plants and seedlings of up to ¾ - 1 inch thick and it cuts and mulches them without hesitation. In a 50 ft circular area that is under two large live oak trees, I mulch the fallen leaves as well as small dead branches that fall during wind storms, and the Fast Tractor keeps on mowing without having to slow down. I have two rope swings in this area and keep it neat for the grand kids to play in. Because of the sandy soil (does pure sand qualify as soil?) the blades get eaten up rather quickly. I mow every 8 – 10 days from April through November or December (actually the first frost) and once a month for the remaining 3-4 months. At the end of year 1, the blades were 3.5 inches shorter than when new. The gas tank is really a great size. I NEVER run out of gas. I fill up before I begin to mow and I can finish ALL of my mowing and still have plenty of gas remaining. I've had a little trouble with the starter this year. Initially, all it took was one turn of the key and she caught hold and fired right up. Lately, when I turn the key, I get a single click but the motor doesn't turn over, I then have to turn the key off and on a few times until finally she catches and starts up. There are several small (3-4 inch diameter) stumps in our paths and lawn areas that we keep painted with yellow paint so that we do not hit them while mowing. However, when the paint flakes off, we will forget about a stump and when you hit one with the deck at 2.5 – 3 inches, you are brought to an abrupt stop. This has happened to me as well as my wife a couple of times. I do not recommend this as it is hard on the mower body as well as the driver's body. This past week, I managed to side swipe a fallen tree while looking on the opposite side of the mower to ensure that I missed a standing tree. When I side swiped the fallen tree, I managed to dislodge the anti sway rod. When I tried to reverse, I had a difficult time and thought that it was because the deck had hung up on the fallen tree. The fact was that the rod had dug into the ground and when I reversed the drive, and pushed against a standing tree with my foot, I was able to become "unstuck." In actuality, I had bent the normally straight rod into a nicely formed 90-degree bend. I'll be visiting my friendly Lowe's Dealer this weekend to order a replacement sway bar. The moral of the story is, don't be lazy when a mishap occurs, turn off the blades, shut down the engine, get off and discover what you have done. You'll probably save some money in repairs and may prevent an injury. All in all, this is a GREAT lawn tractor. It is so easy to operate, my wife has taken to mowing the grassy areas as she enjoys it so much. Of course I object to her doing so as I enjoy this comfortable, easy-steering machine. And by the way, this Fast Tractor has such a tight turning radius, why would one want to spend thousands more for zero turn? Not I.

Replaced my 15 year old Toro with this Husqvarna tractor. Did a ton of research and this tractor seemed to be the best value for the money. I'm regretting my purchase now. FYI: Tractor does not come with a real owners manual, you have to download from the website. Purchased in March of 2014 and had trouble free first season. I'm a maintenance freak so I have already changed oil, spark plugs, cleaned filters, oiled deck and wheels, etc. 2nd season, spindle mount cracked causing spindle to settle and mower belt shredded. Replaced spindle and new belt to the tune of $125. One week later, while mowing, tractor no longer drives. Put tractor up on lift and drive belt was off the idler arm. Put belt back on but noticed that plastic stationary idler pulley had melted and fused and was no longer round so belt was getting caught. Took quite a bit of work to get that pulley off as it has a bolt that is mounted up on the chassis. Another FYI, front tires do not come with tubes so had flat tire first time out mowing. I only have 54 hours on this tractor so far and have had to make 3 repairs. I am very disappointed by the problems I have had in such a short time. All seems to be covered under warranty but it takes 3 weeks to get tractor picked up, fixed and returned and by the time I would get it back I would have a hay field and need a combine to cut it rather than this lawn tractor. If this keeps up, I will sell next year and buy a John Deere...

Great engine, worst deck ever!!
By dreaded mower
About Me Professional
Comments about Husqvarna Fast Tractor™ YTH24V48:
I bought mower new from lowes, replacing a 13 year old MTD garden pro (which I will fix and end up keeping!!) This is by far the worse mower that I have ever had the displeasure of owning!. All regular maintenance of oil changed, filter changes, spark plugs, batteries etc... have been done on time. The air filter is not the easiest to pull out, the oil plug is way under there and its a twist and rotate and hope the hose is connected so it stays. first season was belts, deck wheels coming off (shearing bolts), spindle assembly 1 broke at the bolts, cheaply made! replaced with quality.play in steering wheel.. 2nd season .. ever single time I mow its not 20 mins into mowing and its something that needs to be fixed. the lack hook arm that holds the belt tension catches easily with a stick, knocking belt off.. the 2nd spindle assembly just broke, along with the belt. the bottom guards on deck have come off, the guide that is welded under the deck has come undone and had to be pulled off... the steering wheel has way to much play, the seat bolts are garbage. pushing down on the tiny NON pedal for reverse is a task itself and not really enough power to back out of something, other than a garage.had to invest in a mower lift giving the amount of times this thing breaks, which is where it sits now..The deck in its entirety is garbage, at the price paid I wouldn't expect this to be a "throw away mower" however that is exactly what it is, as you will be throwing away time for every time you have to stop and fix something.. throwing away money, fixing the deck or the wheels... after continuous headaches of hauling the deck in and out from under mower, which is not an easy task with all the little rods and pins (that snap off) its a throw away mower!!! I really enjoy mowing and this P O S has made that task daunting and dreaded! will not ever buy husqvarna products of any kind...

About Me Do-It-Yourself
I had a sears lt3000 before buying this one. Brother had a heart attack and needed a riding mower. So I upgraded to this model. It doesn't mow as good as the Sears model. There are spots being missed even in the middle of the deck. I use both sets of blades bagger and mulch blades. Same results with both types of blades. I have a Very nice yard but I double cut the front yard so I get a uniform cut. Deck is level, scape wheels adjusted correctly. I even have the better deck per say. Just really disappointed with the cutting of the grass.

I purchased this mower 1 year ago brand new, right off I noticed it didn't cut the grass cleanly leaving tall sprigs of grass which I had to go over repeatedly to cut. While mowing an area with shallow holes the mower gets stuck and doesnt have enough power in reverse to back out, or go forward. Keep in mind if you buy this mower you had better be able to lift it out of shallow holes. Spring of this year I had to replace the battery. I cut my yard one time, parked it in the shed and pulled it out today to cut the grass. I mowed about a 1/4 of the lawn when the blades disengaged and will not engage. After checking the pto switch and determining it was fine I checked the electronic clutch.. The clutch is shot only 65 hours on this mower and already replacing parts. These mowers are pure junk!! However they are great for an upper body workout as the steering is so stiff you build upper body strength with every turn.
Comments about YTH24V48:
Just purchased on April 7, 2017 and was delivered April 10, 2017. I got it to the back yard to put in shed and shut it down to open shed. The mower won't start, the battery is dead (yes I checked it). I spent the next 45 minutes trying to call the dealer who would not answer the phone. I tried several more times to start it throughout the evening. I got up the next morning and tried again...no luck. I am truly over this whole issue and just want my money back.
Hope you dont need engine parts
All I can say is I hope you have better luck with the Briggs and Stratton Crud they put on Mine. I don't generally complain but at less than 200 hours of service.... I used to have faith in B&S....
i would buy this mower again

Excellent Mower with Some Problems
This mower is replacing a 7-yr-old John Deere LA110. The Husq is very good at mowing - smooth blade engagement, no increase in vibration, even cutting, highly maneuverable. But there are a number of small deficiencies that collectively bother me. None by itself would cause me any concern, but together, they are irritating and detract from an otherwise good mower. The gas gauge is too small/hard to read in the shade. I have to shake the mower to see where the gas level is.The accelerator lurches at slow speeds. At high speeds, the mower is smooth, but I don't mow at max speed. Changing speeds or releasing the accelerator causes quite a lurch in the mower. Occasionally, the accelerator sticks as if the Cruise Control has engaged until I "pop" the accelerator to get it to release.Reverse is hard to get going and requires me to reposition my leg to gain any speed which is required to get my mower back in the shed when I'm done.Cruise Control does not engage at slow speeds.Hard to start - I have to turn the key 3-4 ties to get the mower to start. I was used to once or twice on my Deere unless I hadn't used the mower in a few weeks.Quality Control - The mower was delivered with an inoperative headlamp and a faulty hour-meter. The headlight was easy - if irritating to have - to replace. The hour-meter reads 191 hrs after one season of mowing once per week for 60-90 min per week. It should be reading somewhere between 25-35 hrs.The mulch kit instructions were poor. Replacing the blades was reasonable, but the diagram for installing the cover was useless and I still have the bolts because I have no idea where they are supposed to go. Fortunately, the kit seems to work well without those pieces.

Much Better than a Deere
I have had my 24V48 for a year (33.4hrs) and mow 3-4 acres of lawn with moderately rolling rough terrain. Other than the deck wheels came set too low, I have had a great experience.Just got done changing-out the blades (too many rocks to re-sharpen) and chose to sand-down and repaint the underside of the deck w/ Rustoleum. I'm hard on equipment, but the Husqvar-whatever, should last me many years. The pedal drive and the short turning radius (maneuverability) are my favorite features. The 48" deck is very important for anyone with more than a couple acres and with the 24V engine, there's plenty of power.Gas tank is big enough, but difficult to see the fuel level; a gauge would be helpful.Overall, the 48" Fast Speed Husqv... is the way to go for most multi-acre yards, say up to 7-9 acres of grass.
