I visited the Husky and Stihl dealer multiple times and read countless reviews. It came down to ergonomics. The Husky didn't just feel right or better, it looked beautiful too! I work almost exclusive with white birch in the interior of Alaska. It's low vibration, excellent comfort, balance with 24" bar and "flickability" allow me to handle the 562xp for felling, limbing & bucking all day. Moving away from it's ergonomics, the most impressive things about my saw is the performance and reliability. I bought the saw and immediately was in the woodlot at 70f in August. As each week progressed I found myself in my back yard bucking logs in January at -45f! Granted, I pulled the saw out of my heated shop but once it was sucking that -45f air the Autotune didn't hiccup once. It ran flawlessly. It's run flawlessly in all conditions in between. My dealer is great and they showed me VERY SIMPLE tips on starting cold and hot. I've never experienced the hard starting others review about. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE PRIME and that's so easy it's ridiculous! Cold start and/or run out of fuel? Thumb on fuel bulb and press 4-5 times til the bulb gets fills up with fuel and your thumb has resistance. "choke" lever up, pull through, it'll probably fire 1 or 2 revolutions. Flip choke off and next pull you're in business. Hot start? Carefully press priming bulb just enough to feel resistance. You're in business. Maybe I'm lucky but that's my MO. I don't have a laundry list of saws in my past to compare it to as for power. All I can say is I've never wished the saw had more guts! I'm a very happy customer to say the least. Lastly, I'll cover some of the other things I love about it. Chain adjustment is a cinch. Air cleaner maintenance is so easy and fast. I like the fuel level sight gauge. There's nothing better than using "work tunes" hearing protection, the smell of fresh cut wood, and the confidence in your equipment to keep going and going all to escape the daily grind.

Bought the saw at the start of summer to compliment my other competitor's saw. Used the same gas and oil mix in my competitor's saw as well as in the Husqvarna 562XP. After less than 24 hours of use, I took the saw in because it was getting progressively harder to start. After being in the service shop for 42 days I got a call saying that the carburetor has some worn parts that would be covered under warranty. Great covered under warranty and it will be a couple more weeks until they get the parts installed. A couple weeks pass and I call the shop and they say that it still isn't running quite right and they are looking for something else wrong, now the saw has been in repair for 2 months and they still don't know what is wrong. Get a call a few weeks later stating that the piston is scored and not covered under warranty, sorry nothing we can do. As I said before I run the same gas/oil mix for my competitor's saw as well as the Husqvarna. Ended up taking my competitor's saw into the dealer to see if that piston had any trouble, and he said it looked perfect. Called Husqvarna to inquire about the manufacturer defect, and why it would not be covered under warranty. They were rude and would not let you talk to anyone that knew anything about the chainsaw and said they will communicate directly with the shop, nothing I can do about it, and no one I can talk to. So after paying just over 700 dollars for the saw I got 24 hours of use out of it. Terrible service, horrible customer service, and a joke of a chainsaw. Will never buy another product with the name Husqvarna on it again. Buyer beware, stay away! You have been warned. Update: on 12/6/14 I took the saw to two independent (Non-Husqvarna) dealers both looked at the piston which was scored on the exhaust side only, both stated that running on straight fuel, or an improper mixture would give both intake and exhaust, nearly 360 degree damage, not what my saw has. They both said that due to the intake side being perfect that it was likely another problem. The one dealer said he would suspect an air leak, and that would be covered if I would have bought his saw. The one dealer admitted to Husqvarna being a terrible company for a customer to deal with. So once again, you have been warned, buy a different brand.

Comments about HUSQVARNA 562 XP®:
I would recommend this saw to anyone who needs a saw capable of felling larger trees, while also being light enough to trim trees and climb with. I use this saw with either a 20 or 28" bar and it performs amazingly with both of them.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

About Me Do-It-Yourself
This is a great performing saw, fastest cutting saw i have owned. My jonsered 2050 turbo is still running strong over 21 years. I decided i needed more power and i sure have now. I have had very good service withHusky along from leaf blower along side string trimmers.I see some people have had problems with this saw hope i don't. Time will tell.
This is a great performing saw so far. Tried another brand which ran good with the same bar length with 64.1 CC engine but had no luck with the power. Returned it and bought this saw and i was amazed with the compact size and build quality too. I still own a Jonsered 2050 turbo and it runs as it were new amazing power for the size. I do have two other Husqvarna units 13 years old with no problems period. I hope the new saw is a winner like the others.

I love this chainsaw! Plenty of power, Great on fuel consumption, melts through hardwood.
Bought this saw from Chadwick's Power Products in Nobleboro, ME- excellent sales and service all around. The saw has been great no problems starting in any weather. This thing has tons of power, good for felling and limbing.
Poorly built and unreliable
from Isanti, MN
I bought this saw the month that it first became available. It runs great and cuts great but must be made from inferior materials because everything keeps breaking on it. I've owned several saws of another brand for years and years and decided to give Husky a try. Big mistake. I've never had a "other brand" saw break and have only changed bars and chains on them.So far on the 562, I've had plastic the chain brake handle break 3 times. The saw doesn't get transported in a vehicle where it could get bounced around. I carry it 20 feet from the building its stored in to where I cut wood. I don't drop the saw, either. Baileys has been out of stock on the part twice now---so you know its breaking for everyone.I've had to replace the plastic rewind pulley twice and replace the pawls on the rewind once. 3 of the muffler bolts fell out. Why they are not installed with a drop of blue loctite I don't know. I noticed the problem after the escaping exhaust burned a hole through the plastic cover on the housing. I replaced the heat shield by the muffler but the dealer couldn't provide the bolts because they said the saw gets whatever muffler is on the shelf when the saw is built and depending on what muffler my saw had the bolts are different. So I had to go to the hardware store and figure out the correct bolts. The saw stopped oiling bar oil. I had to tear it apart and clean the filter on the oil pickup tube and clean some other components and then it started oiling again. No, I don't use the wrong or dirty bar oil.Today I went to use the saw (with the broken chain brake because the back-ordered part hasn't arrived) and now one of the anti-vibration springs on the handle is broken. It was fine when I set the saw down in my storage building yesterday.I have never, ever, had so many problems with a saw and it all comes down to poor quality control and inferior parts used to build the saw. I like the saw when it runs but I cannot have my primary saw break
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This is a great saw while it's running. I've bought 7 or 8 over the last 4 years because they are a very nice saw and I am very happy with their performance as a professional logger. The problem is that I've had to buy almost 2 a year because they only last about 6 months. I don't expect a saw that gets used every day to last forever, but getting a year out of one would be nice. I'm beginning to think that Husqvarna has it figured out that they have made a really nice saw with good performance that blows up right after the warranty runs out so you have to buy a new one. Well they aren't getting anymore money out of this guy because I'm going to try a Sthil!
Lots of power

Have to say that this saw is a machine. Hold on on let this 567xp do the work. It makes me money and gives me a good feeling when I use it. So happy I purchased this beast

Love my 562xp. Had a gapping issue the first year i ran it. It was still under warranty and the was fixed. Haven't had any issues since. I cut about 10-15 cord a year with it and it's a power house. Put a 20inch Sugi Hara bar on it and let her eat!

This Saw does what it is designed to do
I purchased this saw to clear my mountain property of large Douglas fir trees, located at 10,500 feet and above. Several features of this saw that drew my attention were the autotune, power-to-weight ratio service etc., since I would be cutting at remote locations, at extreme elevations, up to timberline in many cases.I had the dealer put a 28" bar on it, since the trees I would be cutting were very large in diameter. I put the saw through its paces early on.Simply put, this saw does what it's designed to do. It's easy to operate, easy to start, service and has excellent power for its size and weight. To date I thoroughly enjoy using this saw.
