Had another brand of chainsaw, you would run it for a while, shut it off and it would not restart until it had completely cooled down. Found out right away that this husqvarna saw will start hot or cold every time. It feels good in your hands and cuts like a dream!!!! I highly recommend this saw. May cost a little more than the cheapest brand, but it's worth every penny and it cuts circles around the others!!!!!!

I like the size and weight. It's great for throwing in the truck and going camping; it takes up less space than our other large woodcutting saw (372). It's easy to start. It leaks, kind of a lot. Oil is all over our garage, so we place a cardboard slab underneath to soak it up. Otherwise runs great and is a good saw for the size. Would be nice to have a wrap-around bar, but that would potentially compromise the weight; although there are some positions I could've used it.That's about it!

Great Chainsaw " Not the Book"
from North Carolina
Comments about HUSQVARNA 445:
This item may already be listed as I didn't read every Review, I bought the 445 Husqvarna because of the good reviews and I made sure I read the Book for Start Up Procedure very carefully and followed it step by step, what do you know it started on the 2nd pull. I cut down a small Poplar Tree and my wife said I had a phone I had to take so I shut the saw down for about 10 minutes and got the book to make sure I followed it step by step to start it correctly as it's written for a warm start up, gave it multiple pulls with no luck starting it back up, waited until the next day and tried to start it for a cold start up with no luck so I started researching on line and found a lady on You Tube with a 90 second video which described how to start a Husqvarna 445 that has been flooded ( which I never flooded it) oh yea I did if you follow the instructions in the Book. Bottom line I tried what she described and it started on the first pull, YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's the trick, place the saw on level ground, place one knee on the top of the saw right behind the handle ( to keep it stable), next use one hand and press the throttle all the way and hold it that way, next take your other hand and pull the starter cord and be ready as it will start up just as she shows in a cloud of smoke where it was flooded. Hope this helps others that are having the same problem.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I cut lots of oak. 10 plus cords a year. This saw is excellent for smaller branches 12 inches or less. Cuts right thru with little effort. Very nice saw. Yes. I would Highly recommend this saw.

Bought this for clean-up after a major storm on a wooded lot since my prior chain saw was ready for retirement. It's always hard to start - 20 pulls at the minimum. And changing chains is a nightmare. My Husky dealer has a tool they gerryrigged to unseat the brake lock because so many folks, like me, forget to pull the hand guard toward the front handle before trying to remove the cover, & once you take off the cover, it seems you can't go back & pull the hand guard correctly. Another dealer has an unassembled hand guard to use specifically for unlocking the brake clutch. Poor design. And then once you get the cover and chain off, keeping the chain on the sprocket & in the grooves of the bar is a delicate balancing act, 1 that has resulted in several ruined chains. And like others have mentioned, mine is constantly leaking oil. I have a Husqvarna lawn tractor that I'm very happy with & thought I'd have the same experience with this chain saw, but now I regret purchasing it & wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I've spent $120 in unwarranted repairs & replacement chains in the 1st year of ownership. And granted I'm not a professional, but this is my 3rd chainsaw in 25 years & I have lots of tools & typically have no issues using any tool.

Rode over it with my F250
from New Market, Md
Busted the chain brake handle, cracked the cylinder cover, broke 2 of the cylinder cover buckles. I cleaned it up and it has been running this way with no issues in this condition for about 6 months. Yea, I would buy another one.

Great Running saw. My 18 inch Husqvarna (46cc) easily out runs my Dad's 16 inch Stihl (45cc) in the same log. The biggest problem I have is the oiling system. Leaks all over the shop. Whenever I set it down it looks like a 1972 Pinto was parked there. Full tank of oil only lasts 3/4 of a tank of fuel. That means I have to stop before I need to "gas-up", or the bar runs dry. Great saw for storm clean-up, not so much for land owners. The 0.50 kerf is great for running larger bars on smaller/lighter saws but does wear quicker. However, at the end of the day, I'm happy with my Husqvarna.
good little saw
I use this saw on the regular it has not steered me wrong just wish the oiler was adjustable I'm running a 20in bar and it runs a little hot needed a little more power so I'm going with a 44mm cylinder head and piston in it instead of the factory 42mm so hoping to gain a little more umpth I also have a 350 wich has been a great saw that I just rebuilt as well to a 45mm piston assembly excellent saws as far as I'm concerned just wish the oiler was adjustable
Husquvarna 445 Chain Saw
Great product. Started right up the first time.Cuts through trees, so far, without any resistance. The Product manual could be improved by increasing the font.Everything else is great!
Nothing like a Husky
from Spring City
I have gone the route of cheap chain saws that last for six jobs and then are thrown away. I have used this chainsaw far many times more and can't find anything bad to say about it. Any other products I buy in the future will be Huszvarna!
Pretty decent saw
Bought it from Lowes and the plastic pull start piece broke on the third or so start, they fixed it for free but it was a pain just to bring it back and stuff, its been probably two years now and just the other day the little fuel pump to prime it, the plastic piece for that broke so now it kinda flops around. Also when its cold u have to hold the throttle do start it, once its warm it starts much easier. It's a great saw, but I worked on a farm when I was younger selling firewood. We received logs from a logging company and the saws were quite a bit bigger but they seemed to be build a little more heavy duty, a little heavier but seemed worth it to me for it to be a little more durable. They saw a very lot of hours and always worked great.
