Connecting your smartphone to your Automower® robotic mower

The Automower® Connect app gives you full control of your Automower® from your smartphone. The app lets you start, stop or park your Automower®, as well as check and adjust its settings. Plus, you can receive alarms and track your mower's location in the event of theft.


Automower® Connect app

To connect to your mower using a phone or a similar device, you will need to download the Automower® Connect (AMC) app.

The Automower® Connect app is available for both iOS and Android devices. You will find the Automower® Connect app where you normally download apps:

Automower® Connect account

It is not necessary have an account to use the Automower® Connect app, but it brings a lot of benefits — so we recommend you to create one if you do not already have one. 

Please note that if you already have a Husqvarna account that you use for other Husqvarna products or services, you can use the same credentials for the Automower® Connect app.

  • Open the app and tap Sign in to create a new account. Then follow the instructions on the screen.
  • Open the app and tap "Log in" if you already have an account. Then enter your credentials.
 

Different ways to connect to your Automower® robotic lawn mower


The options that are available for connecting to your mower using the AMC app depends on whether your mower has a Connect module installed or not. If you are not sure if your mower has a Connect module installed, see How do I know if I have a Connect module? below. 
 

For Automower® robotic mowers with Connect module (Automower® Connect)

If your Automower® robotic mowers has a Connect module, we recommend connecting to it using the cellular network and logged-in mode in the Automower® Connect app. 
This option is what we normally refer to when we talk about Automower® Connect. Connecting this way requires logging in to your Automower® Connect account. You will also need mobile network coverage.

Adding the mower to your Automower® Connect account this way—using the cellular network—will ensure that you have access to and can control your mower anytime, anywhere. You will always have access to the full range of features in the Automower® Connect app. Plus, you can receive alarms and track your mower's location in the event of theft.

To add your mower, follow the instructions below:

  1. Open the Automower® Connect app.
  2. Select Log in and enter your account credentials.
  3. Tap the menu icon at the top right of the screen.
  4. Select My Mowers.
  5. Tap the plus (+) sign.
  6. Select your mower model. Make sure that you select the option with a connect module.
  7. Follow the instructions on the screen to pair your device with your mower.
 

For Automower® robotic mowers without Connect module (Connect@Home)

If your Automower® robotic mowers does not have a Connect module, you can still log in and use most of the features in the Automower® Connect app. Your mower is added using Bluetooth.

This option is what we refer to as Connect@Home, as adding the mower to your account using Bluetooth will ensure that you have access to and can control your mower any time, as long as you are within Bluetooth range (<30 m) from your robotic mower. One benefit compared to the Automower® Direct option is that your mower connection is saved in the app. This means that you do not have to establish a new connection to your mower every time you want to connect to it.
 

To add your mower, follow the instructions below:

  1. Make sure that you have enabled access to location services and Bluetooth on your device. See Enable location services and Bluetooth access.
  2. Open the Automower® Connect app.
  3. Select "Log in" and enter your account credentials.
  4. Tap the menu icon at the top right of the screen.
  5. Select My Mowers.
  6. Tap the plus (+) sign.
  7. Select your mower model. Make sure that you select the option without a connect module.
  8. Follow the instructions on the screen to pair your device with your mower.
 

For all Automower® robotic mowers (Automower® Direct)

All our Automower® robotic mowers* can be connected to using Bluetooth and Automower® Direct
This option does not require being logged in to an Automower® Connect account. It is only a temporary connection and you will have to establish a new connection next time you want to access or control your mower using your phone or a similar device.

To connect to your mower, follow the instructions below:

  1. Make sure that you have enabled access to location services and Bluetooth on your device. See Enable location services and Bluetooth access.
  2. Open the Automower® Connect app. 
  3. Select Automower® Direct
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen.
 

Enable location services and Bluetooth access

To connect to your mower using Bluetooth, the AMC app needs to access Bluetooth (iPhone and Android) and location services (Android only).

Check the following before trying to connect using Bluetooth:

For iPhone

  1. Check that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone: Turn on Bluetooth.
  2. Check that you have enabled Bluetooth access for the AMC app:
    1. Tap on Settings.
    2. Select AMC.
    3. Turn on Bluetooth.

For Android

  1. Check that location access is enabled for your phone: Turn on location access for your phone.
  2. Check that location access is enabled for the Automower® Connect app: Turn on location access for AMC.
  3. Check that Bluetooth is enabled in your phone settings: Turn on Bluetooth
 

How do I know if I have a Connect module?

All X-models** come with a Connect module installed. Contact your local dealer if your mower does not have a Connect module and you want to install one.

If you are not sure whether your mower already has a Connect module installed, follow the instructions below:

Open the main menu on the mower control panel and select Accessories.
  • If your mower has a Connect module installed, one of the options in the menu is Automower Connect.
  • If your mower does not have a Connect module installed, one of the options in the menu is Connect@Home.
