This zero turn is one of the best I have owned, I have had other makes and they can't compare to Husqvarna. This Husqvarna Z46 has features that add to the handling cutting and general great product. The new way of adjusting the height is great. The way that the brake is applied, the starting , etc. I could go on. But I would say buy this it well worth it. You will enjoy the ease, and quality of the cutting. And if you are one that want to have a mulching kit , I found that the kit from my older RZ4326, fits as well at the RZ46iAnd works perfect.

I bought this zero turn mower Z 246 and the first issue was the head light didn't work so I had a new one ordered for a replacement. Within a year of ownership the mower started having issues with the right control arm. Some days it would run fine and other days it wouldn't. Finally, it would start but it wouldn't go into drive because as soon as I moved the right control arm in from neutral the engine would be cut off. Initially I thought it might be the interlock switch so I replaced it. Still didn't work. Then I compared the linkage for the right arm with the linkage to the left arm and realized the right arm linkage seemed loose. The linkage has a lot of play in it; however, if I hold the linkage manually the right control arm can be moved from the park positon to drive and the motor stayed on. The Husqvarna Help Line...no help what-so-ever. They referred me to a local dealer where the wait time to get repairs is 3-4 weeks.

Comments about Z246:
This mower started working fine until the spring kept coming off and the belts were loose. After getting the spring to stay on (as long as I didn't hit anything) the belt keeps slipping off. My mower has spent more time not working then it has working. Would not recommend to anyone.

used 8 hours and the machine began to squeel and smelled rubber burning. belt that drives the blades was chewed up. it's been in the shop for a week and still don't have it back. commercial mower? what pro is going to want a mower in the shop for over a week? i only mow 2 lawns and owned 2 months and the machine couldn't handle that without breaking down

Have had this mower for 4 months now and has cut my mow time in half. Was tricky at first going from an old rider to a zero turn but getting the hang of it. Have to be careful when turning it will spin the tires and tear up the yard. It threw the blade belt the other day and in the shop now to have that looked at. Other than buying from a place that has only one repair man all is good.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I was hauling the 246 to my sons to mow his yard. Half way to his place the thing came loose from its tie downs and fell off the back of the trailer which is about the same height as the pick up bed. I looked in the mirror just as she cut loose and slid very neatly to the edge of the trailer and proceeded to drop onto the pavement rear wheels first, obviously, and then the front wheels hit the black top. I said oh my goodness look what just happened to the Z. I turned around and went back to look at the damage and get the darn thing off the highway. It was sitting squarely in the middle of the west bound lane with a car bearing down on us. Long story shortend a bit. I thought I might as well see if it would start. Took right off like it was in the garage. Loaded it back up and went and mowed the kids yard. I have been mowing with it for the last 4 months without so much as a hick up. If that ain't a testimonial to how tough these things are I will eat my hat.

Did a lot of research and glad I went with this zero turn. I have 2.4 acres of mostly flat grass and it works great. Takes about 2 hours. It does ride bumpy but what mower does not. Great value and with proper preventive maintenance it will last me a long time.
Recently bought a used RZ4619 built in 2009 which takes an hour to mow nearly an acre with over a dozen trees and obstacles. This going from almost 5 hours with an old, slow 28 inch Ariens. Used to have to stringt trim and push now around everything. Eliminated push mowing already working on landscaping to eliminate string trimming. Hint, adjust seat and lap bars to a comfortable position.

Bags grass great

Comments about Husqvarna Z246:
This mower replaced my John Deere rider. It bags grass much better than the JD or the Craftsman I had prior. It seems to ride a bit rougher than the other riders I had and being able to drink water while operating is a bit more of a coordination effort but I'm getting better at one hand operation. The unit was blowing the main fuse at purchase time and found that the headlight must be shorted. Unplugging the headlight solved the fuse issue but still waiting for replacement light. Concerned about quality control at assembly and check out.

next level of mowing
WOW! I just used my new Z246 Husky to mow down the jungle that was my back yard. I purchased a new Husqvarna AWD walk behind mower earlier this spring and was very impressed with it. The engine starts easily, the handle and deck feel very solid and the AWD makes short work of trimming on the hill. So I decided to replace my old tractor with a new Husqvarna ZTR. There a huge difference in performance between the old front engine type and the ZTR. The V-twin engine in the Z246 has power to spare, the seat is comfortable and of course, it turns on a dime with ten cents change. I find mowing much easier and faster than with my old conventional tractor. I'm glad I made the quantum leap to Husky ZTR and AWD!
