Excellent Mid Grade ZTR! Competively Priced, Hard to Beat!
The Husqvarna RZ5426 is a very well build Mid Grade consumer ZTR. The 26 HP Kohlor engine, with proper maintance should easily give years of dependable service and outlast the HydrGear EZT transmissions, and those are proven quality, long lasting consumer grade hydros. When I received my RZ5426, the first thing I did was replace the rear 18" tires with more aggressive and slightly wider 22" tires I bought new off eBay for $20.00 each, they were new Dyco TurfTracs at that. . This made a huge differance in the traction problem on hills as others have noted in other reviews. Plus I did get a noticeable increase in ground speed. The differance in torque wasn't even noticeable. I did also have to re- level the deck. Also installed the mulch kit, but used Oriogon Gater Blades instead of the included bladed. I got those blades off A...com for $39.00. The 18500 FPS blade tip speed is on par with profession grade units. Bottom line I can buy two of the R5426 mowers for the price of one entry level consumer grade mower. And OEM Deck and engine parts are very easy and very cheap on A. Com. An example, a spindle for $29.00. Overall I love my new mower, despite I felt I needed to make the tires switch. This mower, along with mu Husqvarna BT150 backpack blower easily fulfills my 4.5 acre needs with FAST professional looking results.

I purchased this mower around October of 2012 and from the day I purchased it, it would not idle correctly. The motor was surging up and down very badly. I returned it to the dealer where I purchased it and they assured me it was a faulty gas cap and ordered me a new one. I placed the new fuel cap on and got the same surging. I took it this time to a different dealer service center, where they determined it had a clogged carburetor. Not sure how the carb got clogged on a brand new mower but that apparently was the case, it was taken apart and cleaned and now idles and runs without a surging problem. It now is in the shop for the third time and only has 13 hours on it. The mower is blowing out large clouds of white smoke when cranked, and seems to have little power leaving twigs of grass sticking up everywhere making for a sloppy cut. I recently filed a complaint with Husqvarna but have gotten no response.

We purchased this mower to replace a conventional ridding lawn tractor/mower and I am so pleased with our purchase! The good ratings are due to the short amount of time I have had it but so far it is excellent! We have about 4 acres that we mow and it has reduced mowing time by more than half! Make sure if this is your first zero turn, like us, that you have a very open area to practice getting the hang of steering and such because it is a big change from a regular rider. Once you have that down you will love mowing! Do not hesitate to purchase this mower, you will not regret it. The only thing that could be better would be a bit more aggressive gripping tires.

Good Mower, Fun Handling
I have two acres to cut and the RZ5426 has reduced my mowing time by thirty percent because the steering is so much easier and responsive. I'm disappointed with it's mowing capability. It has a 26 hp Kohler engine but it bogs down easily and cuts no better than the average lawn tractor. This type mower is good only for level yards mostly. I can only recommend it for its steering capability. It's cutting capability doesn't warrant the high price.

My first Zero turn ... Bought in November
It's a bit early to assess my machine since I bought it on sale in November. No Grass To Cut. However, I have driven around the yard to get used to the zero turn. It seems to be OK. I had a Husky Lawn Tractor prior to this and after 18 years the only things to go bad were the muffler and the deck. I anticipate this machine will be as good.

Don't go this big
I purchased the 54" mower at Lowe's, and the first one came damaged. The second one worked, however it was not cutting my lawn properly.
The grass on the left side of the deck was not being discharged, but instead falling to the ground in balls. I had to cut the lawn two or three times over to get rid of the clumps
I returned the mower for the 46" mower and it so far seems to be working fine.
I also agree with a lot of people on here, the traction on the wheels is terrible. I have a very flat lawn, and it loses traction constantly.

Quite good overall
Bought this in the spring to replace a 42" Cub zero turn. Cut my mowing time for 3 acres by about a third. Cuts well, is pretty fast, rides OK (once you cut the inflation on the tires down quite a bit), and is pretty easy to maintain. Got it at Lowe's and had the issue with the PTO connection under the seat not hooked up that I had to search out, but that was the only issue I had. It is quite loud and a little bit of a gas hog, but I knew that before I bought it. The only drawbacks I can really whine about are the slippery rear tires and the deck wheel supports that tend to gouge the grass up. The discharge chute also tends to clump the grass up, but a lot of them do that so that's not really an issue for me.
Had a very moist summer in which I was having to mow every 5 days because the grass was growing so fast and heavy and this kept up pretty well, even if I missed by a day or two.

After looking at many zeroturns, I chose the RZ5426. After a month of use I have no complaints. I have also cut mowing time on 3.5 acres with 113 trees down to 2.5 hours, it has given me my weekend back.
