Mow More for Less
I have been an owner and user of the RZ5424 for approximately three months at the writing of this review. If you're looking for a Zero Turn to use as a commercial mower, then my recommendation is to read no further! This is not the machine for you! However, if you are a homeowner with a fair amount of relatively level to gently rolling terrain, then this machine should serve you well! Recommendation: spend a few extra dollars and purchase your machine from a dealer that you know to be reputable and will set up your new machine correctly! You can save a few bucks online, but it's hard to dismiss the value of a reputable dealer who can help in the unlikely event of a problem. I have nothing but praise for this machine! It is not as heavy as some of the commercial ZTR's that I have used, but it was not purchased for such intentions in my application! The engine is more than amply powered! Like any ZTR, if you are operating in less than ideal conditions, then you will likely experience some traction issues or concerns, but this machine has performed flawlessly for me! I would prefer a floating front axle, but the machine performs acceptably as equipped! I definitely give the RZ5424 two thumbs up!

I purchased this mower about a month ago with the 36 month 0% financing, and so far I love this mower, I have almost 3 acres I mow almost twice a week, I had a older mower that had a 46 inch deck and was starting to have major problems with it, so I took advantage of the 0% financing, I brought the mower home and used it the same day and I can mow almost 3 acres in about an hour and 15 minutes, it took me over 3 hours with my old mower, very easy on gas I run 89 in it, love the washout port on the deck, I have the 54 inch deck on mine and I would highly recommend this mower, I just wish it came with headlights, and on the website you cant find a price for them, if you are in the market for a new mower, this zero turn is what you need as long as you don't go over 10 degrees of banking, but that is that way with any zero turn mower. this mower has tons of power, and cuts excellent and I am very picky about how my yard looks and this mower has surpassed my exspatations and it even cut my weed eating way down, only little downfall is this mower is heavy. but still a excellent mower. I hope this review helps you buy one I wish I would have bought one sooner, well I am off to mow

Poor warranty, service, quality
Purchased at Sears and was told it had best warranty in the industry. Several broken parts later( the deck, right handle bar), I found the warranty not so good. I paid out of pocket for repair and parts. Sears apologized.
Would not recommend.$4000 wasted here
I own many Husqvarna products, weedeater, chainsaw, blower,, all top of the line.

Great Stick Mower
I never imagined how fast and efficent a lawnmower could be. Even an older person like me can handle this mower. It has cut my mowing time on my lawn by at least 25%. It is awesome. Way to go Husqvarna! You've created another superb machine.

Engine Good, deck is JUNK
This is my 3rd Husqvarna mower. I bought an older used one when i got my first house. I liked it so well, that when it stopped working, I bought a brand new Husq riding tractor to mow about an acre. I really liked that mower too. When I moved to a new home with a bigger plot of land I decided to sell my Husq lawn tractor, and get the RZ5424. It has been fine as far as the motor, and the cut, however, the deck on the mower is PURE JUNK.....I have to mow with the deck all the way up, or it drags the ground, I just thought it was how it was built and was supposed to be like that but have now been told by a repairman that it should not be like that. First, I was mowing and a pulley flies off the deck. The bolt snapped for no apparant reason, thank god my kids werent in the yard, because this thing flew off the deck like a bullet. 2nd the baffle under the deck came loose and was flopping around under the mower. I called the service center and was told if i bring it in, they would just cut it off, so it would be cheaper if I was able to cut it off myself because it wouldnt effect the cut anyways. 3rd My belt on the mower was slipping, so I went to purchase a new one. The part number in my manual tells me what belt to use, however, that belt is about 6 inches short. Called my friend over that works on mowers to take a look at it, and upon inspection, I have a broken mounting weld on my deck and he thinks thats why the belt wont fit. I dont know how or when that happened, but I have not crashed into anything with my mower. He said he thinks the deck is so low it hits the ground in spots which probably caused the weld to break...We looked at the mower, there is no way to raise the deck. Its as high as it goes. This mower just turned 3 yrs old and has 100 hrs on it. I paid close to 4K for the mower, there is NO WAY i should be dealing with my deck literally falling apart. The deck on this mower has me rethinking only using Husqvarna mowers.

Mows fast - - - on smooth ground
I'm now into my second season with this mower and like it pretty good. I've had no maintenance problems other than the drive belt coming off the pulleys which was no big deal to put back on.
I have 2 caveats for potential buyers:
If your yard isn't smooth you're not going to be able to mow very fast or this thing will shake the fillings out of your teeth. The seat has no suspension and is tilted wrong so that you slide forward continually. The second is fuel usage, the mower sucks up a lot of gas.

I wish I had my money back
This mower is terrible. Nothing but problems, very little use. I am having to buy the 4th mower/blade belt this summer. I can't even mow two times without having to buy a new belt for $40+. It would literally be cheaper for me to pay to have my yard mowed. I bought the mower last summer. It was used maybe 9 times. It is a headache, beware. Do not buy!

My rz54 has the worst traction that I have ever owned, when they say that hilly ground above 10 degree, is an understatement.I have un even ground, when I say uneven,i mean you look from one direction it looks even but from another,it is slightly uneven.I look down because I am not moving, the wheel is just turning, and also the mower always leaves uncut grass,i have to go back and cut it again, the deckwash does not help, when it works, grass builds up quickly, but that is minor, the deal killer is no traction,i have used john deer, dixon,no problem on same yard,i keep getting stuck, something needs to be done,i went ahead and rebuilt the trans on my 1995 sears hydro garden tractor and started using it again.I have a perimeter around my property that is uneven ground,i haveto stay 6ft from it,these tires should have better tread, and larger for that much power,it doesn't take much to break traction.as for wet ground, forget it.The front deck wheel mounts need to be reinforced, they bend easly, reality is you will hit something, they all do,metal is too thin and not reinforced.this is not a service issue,it is design issue.I got it last fall, cut once, waited till this spring after 5 cuts to review.I am a mechanic and 25yr plumber, and I I use to cut grass for living back before there were zip codes, not my first rodeo.Just because people say you cant cut hilly ground doesn't mean you can only cut flat perfect ground,if so,remove it from the market.Once descending down toward the uneven ground,do not try to turn, because u will not,the ground was about 5 degree,60ft 45 degree ravine.pretty much a death wish if I was a newby.thank you.
