I bought this mower in May of 2013, I have had my lawn cared for by a lawn service which I have been very happy with. After much thought I decided I would take over the care myself to eventually save money. The cost of the mower was a little more than what I intended to spend but after the first coulpe mowings I have never looked back. I actually enjoy my mowing time. The ease of this mower has been nothing short of a pleasurer, every aspect of the mower has surpassed my expectations.

Deck brace broke within 6 weeks
The power and speed of the mower is nice. However, the deck brace snapped off within 6 weeks of purchase. The authorized repair center welded it with the promise a new deck would be installed in another 4 to 5 weeks.

Zero Turn with issues
First of all. This unit was used to mow some high weeds. To do so, I raised the platform all the way up. What happened soon after was that the unit destroyed a group of wires under the shield just above the feet by the deck pulleys burning through the cables. I go to repair that and find that the wire bundle has two yellow, two brown and one blue wre. The blue is OK, but which one gets connected to which on the brown and yellow. Add to that is that under the lowest grade, the rear tires will spin away, (Lousy Traction). Only plus is that it starts well, when the wires were not destroyed, and the Power is adequate under normal condition. Another fault is that the bolts like to back off, and the alignment of the turn bars is very likely to change in short order, as well. Oh, middle cut, does not work. leaves grass to be re-mowed. I went to this because folks rated it high. My attempt here is to input some truth, so the next guy does not. Sears sold me a lemon, two years ago. I had their extended warranty from a mower preceding this that made by them was even worse. Oh well, one of us is born every minute.

I have had my mower about 6 months, and I am really getting frustrated with it. Make sure when you purchase your mower and they tell you they set it up and it is ready to go, to go over the setup again. Our was never set up, other than it had gas and oil. Mower deck wheel were not moved from factory setting, so the deck rode on the ground. Ruined a set of bladed first time mowing. Second issue, the switch when out before it had 20 hours on it. They took it to the shop and got it back up and running, cost me 82.00 to replace the blades. Have had it back about three weeks and only got the yard mowed once, due to vacation and rain. Went to mow today and now it won't go in a straight line. Checked the book, checked tires, adjusted tracking on both sides, still turning to left and something smells hot. Not sure what is going on, ready to give it back and get my money back. It was in the shop for 3 weeks last time, makes me wonder how long this time. What a lemon!

This is a great mower. I have a 2.2 acre all grass yard and can get it all cut in under 1 hour. I would recommend this mower if you're in the market for one.
The _only_ gripe I have is that it is VERY loud. You cut at full throttle and will NEED good ear protection.

Home owner overall excellent mower
I have had my Husqvarna zero turn mower now for 2 full seasons . I cut 5 acres with it every weekend during the grass cutting season, and mulch all of the leaves from 200 trees on the 5 acres . I have never had a problem with this mower and it out preforms many other mowers in its class. So if you want a zero turn riding mower that you can count on I would recommend the Husqvqrna RZ5424 , with the Kohler 24 horespower engine and the 54 " cutting deck.

Please read before buying!
I received my RZ5424 5 days ago, put everything together and started mowing. First thing I noticed was with the mower deck ALL the way up, I was scalping the lawn, and leaving several strips of uncut grass. I raised the deck via the adjustments and tilted it down slightly in the front as per the book, and now it cuts a little higher with the deck height all the way up, however it is still leaving strips of uncut grass and just random sporadic grass sticking up. One thing ive tried is, the deck belt seems REALLY loose, I noticed I could actually remove the belt by hand with no problems, It appears as if the tensioner spring is really weak or too short. If you reach your hand under the deck and turn the blades by hand the direction they spin, the belt looses up, like it looses tension, then if you turn them the opposite direction, against the tensioner, the belt tightens up, like it should. Almost like the blades are spinning in the wrong direction. I came up with a solution to help with the tensioner and it did tighten the belt up, however it still leaves uncut grass strips, no matter if I cut 6" grass the 4" or if I cut 5" grass to 4". I have yet to figure it out. I pulled one of the blades off today and realized the blade's have a "bow" in them, in other words, they don't sit flat, each edge of the blade hangs lower than the center, I don't know if this could be the issue or not. Any suggestions from anyone on how to fix this uncut grass issue? Also, if you do still consider this mower, please consider the Kawasaki engine, this 24hp Kohler drinks gas like you wouldn't believe, I went from a 24hp gas sipping Kawasaki in another mower to this 24hp gas sucking Kohler.
Also, while greasing one of the front wheel spindle, when I tried to pull my grease gun off, the zerk fitting came with it, I was able to put it back on, but its very loose, whoever drilled the hole made it slightly too big, Ill have to figure this out as well
I only have 2.4 hrs on this mower and so far I am not impressed. I could desperately use some help on figuring out the uncut grass issue, that would help change my mind about this mower.
