Best trimmer I've owned! Super reliable and durable I've tried many other trimmers before and they never last. I have properties that have steep front yards(so steep you can't even walk up/down standing up) and can't use anything but a trimmer. I run these weed wackers/trimmers(or whatever you'd call them) HARD. First year in no issues at all. Super strong and very easy to use. Second year the spark got dirty so it stopped running(thought the motor melted), pulled the spark out and cleaned it up. Runs great since(it's on it's third year) I did notice a slight "cling" noise now almost like the valves are loose or something. But it has no idle/running issues so idk if I'm just worrying for no reason. The only quirk I have is that you have to mix 2-cycle oil with gasoline before running it. Not a big issue since I already have a 1 gallon gas tank and can easily mix up the oil to get the right concentration ratio. But I still have to carry around a extra tank just for this trimmer. If you get the concentration wrong the motor will either sound loud and run rough or blow out blue smoke. you just have to go out of your own way to get a 1 gallon tank and a bottle of 2-cycle oil measured out for 1 gallon of gasoline. Also for some reason(it started a year after I ran it), it does vibrate alittle when idling, but once up to speed it runs smoothly. May 16, 2015
223l trimmer I work for the state and use primarily Redmax t2350,s for the commercial work around the capital buildings and since they no longer make that model i thought i would try the 223l. I cannot say enough about this trimmer. Right off the shelf it started first time and runs great. I clear 12 to 18 inch grass areas that i could not do with the other trimmers i have owed and used. Lightweight and powerful beyond my expectations. Large fuel capacity, balance and first pull starting make this my favorite trimmer. Love it, better that the best commercial trimmers I've used over the years. May 16, 2015
Great trimmer, but.... I first would like to say that I enjoy having 3 husqvarna pwr equipment. I have the 350BF backpack blower and a older 125L trimmer. Then I have this weedeater. The only flaw with the 223L is the gas cap seal or the cap alone. It leaks every time I turn the weedeater to edge a driveway or sidewalk. I don't think I'm the only person that the cap is leaking but it aggravates me. Hence this review. The 125L is 8 yrs old maybe? It has a O-ring seal. The 223L has a flat washer of some sort. A easy switch is just get a cap with an O-ring or add a Oring to this cap that comes on it. The gas also leaks though the 4 little evaporation holes as well. Other than that the weedeater is pretty darn good for the money. Lightweight and has good power. Trimmer head holds a lot of .095" line. April 9, 2015
223L Best trimmer I have ever owned. Easy to start. Power to weight ratio is also excellent. I have had mine for five years with no issues. Looking forward to many more years of dependability. Also own a Husqvarna YTH20K46 lawn tractor. The tractor is 8 years old and runs as good today as it did when it was brand new. I have influenced several people to purchase the Husqvarna brand. Solid product; would by again; one issue I've had the 223L trimmer for two weeks and have used it three times. It starts easily and performs well on a fairly large home lawn. There was one issue the last time I used it. The upper fuel line serving the air purge came loose, starving the engine of fuel. It was an easy problem do identify since the fuel line was clearly visible hanging out the bottom of the engine shroud. It was easy enough to fix by removing the shroud and pushing the fuel line back onto the outlet (inlet?) at the top of the air purge. It was just surprising that a product with such a superior reputation would have this sort of problem. That said, I plan to purchase additional Husqvarna products. September 17, 2014
REVIEW IN WV Well, returned to Lowes to buy another weedeater. I have a 323L with many hours on her. The rope and pull spring had broken and I took it to my local dealer for repairs. While it was in the shop, I bought this new one! It is doing great so far and I have my old one back now, which has lost some power, but still mean, to leave at our camp. September 15, 2014
Love it First time husqvarna buyer. Very satisfied.... To he// with "vibrations" or "exhaust re-routing" because it makes your arm hot? Are you out of pamprin? If comfort is what you want, get yourself a lazy boy and some remote controlled blinds so you can sit back and watch somebody else do it. I used this trimmer for 4 straight hours with no strap and I say it's a dang fine piece of equipment. [Ethanol-free WILL save your money!] August 30, 2014
My 1st gas-powered trimmer... it's a dandy! Bought this model based upon user reviews.... I have 2.5 acres and have had 223L for 3 seasons... turf grass, trimming weeds along 600ft of fence line, under/around trees. Trimmer gets a good work out. Always starts 2nd or 3rd pull. I use True Fuel. After a few line replacements, string wouldn't advance on bump. Took the head apart and cleaned it (was packed with dirt), then carefully wound new string properly (not overlapping). After cleaning, string advances easily and again works like brand new. August 13, 2014
