New for old Finally wore out my old 232 after 2 hrs a week for 11 years in the long growing season of the deep south. Got a 223L for a replacement and set about putting hours on this one. A taller handle option would be good for me, but I find nothing wrong with the unit, July 25, 2015
Quit working after 1 year Bought this 223l string trimmer 1 year ago, used it about 12 times. The it started loosing power, then it starting stopping, now it wont start at all. The Air purge Bulb will not come back out. I cannot find this part anywhere. There is NO customer support. I spent $250.00 for a piece of junk. July 24, 2015
Great Product Light weight and very well balanced. Easy to start and use. Love the way the string is wound and installed. Great trimmer!!! July 23, 2015
What is wrong My new 223L stopped working after 10 minutes of use. The trim head stopped turning when the motor speed was increased. Returned the product to Lowes. I do not recommend this model. My old 323L is still running after 13 years of service. June 26, 2015
Complete junk. Only used the trimmer twice. Bump trimmer head has fallen apart and now parts are missing. Only able to use the machine twice. Very expensive junk. Very disappointed. I will never buy from HUSQVARNA again. I despise this weed eater. June 17, 2015
Smooth and Reliable I have been running a 323L trimmer for 14+ years and decided it was time to add a new trimmer. Purchased the 223L at a local Husqvarna service dealer. Starting is easy. I prefer the new auto-return off switch. Power is very smooth with lots of torque to get through thicker grass. The unit is light in weight. The head holds a good supply of strand and is easy to reload. I run only the premixed 50:1 canned fuel which adds to the reliability and life span with any 2 cycle product. Bottom line: Excellent product. If owners simply read and follow the given maintenance schedule and instructions, the product will serve their needs for a long time. June 11, 2015
Not durable and Customer Service is NON-Existent Bought this model about a year or so ago. I went with the 223 because of the positive reviews. I didn't know about Husqvarna's non existent service and parts though. BEWARE within the warranty period the starter broke. For OVER A MONTH my Authorized Repair Center has been waiting for a part from Husqvarna. I gave it to the shop in late April to early May. It is now June 2nd. No part on the horizon. I will be looking at a Stihl trimmer later this week if the part hasn't arrived. You should too. June 2, 2015
Best trimmer I've owned! Super reliable and durable I've tried many other trimmers before and they never last. I have properties that have steep front yards(so steep you can't even walk up/down standing up) and can't use anything but a trimmer. I run these weed wackers/trimmers(or whatever you'd call them) HARD. First year in no issues at all. Super strong and very easy to use. Second year the spark got dirty so it stopped running(thought the motor melted), pulled the spark out and cleaned it up. Runs great since(it's on it's third year) I did notice a slight "cling" noise now almost like the valves are loose or something. But it has no idle/running issues so idk if I'm just worrying for no reason. The only quirk I have is that you have to mix 2-cycle oil with gasoline before running it. Not a big issue since I already have a 1 gallon gas tank and can easily mix up the oil to get the right concentration ratio. But I still have to carry around a extra tank just for this trimmer. If you get the concentration wrong the motor will either sound loud and run rough or blow out blue smoke. you just have to go out of your own way to get a 1 gallon tank and a bottle of 2-cycle oil measured out for 1 gallon of gasoline. Also for some reason(it started a year after I ran it), it does vibrate alittle when idling, but once up to speed it runs smoothly. May 16, 2015
