Outstanding product This by far is the best trimmer I have ever owned. Having gone through over the years Ryobi, Cub Cadet, Troy Built, and Toro, I can say this one tops them all. Only negative is the guard is not big enough to protect you from debris. Seems very undersized and doesn't afford much protection. May 8, 2013
Trimming with ease! I used a Stihl trimmer borrowed from my dad to clear an acre on my property. After I was finished my fingers lost sensation for days. I knew I needed a trimmer of my own and relied on the brand that made my great chainsaw and lawn mower. Husqvarna uses idolaters to reduce vibration on the operator. This trimmer is no different its also 4 pounds lighter than the Stihl. The line replacement process on the head is also much easier on the Husqvarna than the Stihl. May 2, 2013
Powerful, well balanced and starts easily Lighter and better balanced than the others and is very powerful. Its quieter and smoother than the others. For a 75 year old tall man with a heart condition, it is very manageable. Starts easily. I use 92 octane no ethenol premix fuel. Only used for 2 hours so far, time will tell on durability. Warranty no good I got this 223l trimmer in march 2012.Close to the end of mower season it stoped running.Would not start. With two year warrany I returned to Lowes. It had a bad carb.Gas lines needed cleaning and gas filter needed repair. They called me and said the problem was not covered by the warrany! I did not have them repair it. Cost Over 100.00 to repair. They returned it to lowes un-repaired!What good is a Warranty? I will never buy another Husqvarna Product! March 20, 2013
Good trimmer for the money. I got this trimmer on clearance at our local hardware store at the end of Summer when they were getting rid of all the power equipment for the year and only paid $79 for a brand new trimmer. I've got many Husky chainsaws, a walk behind mower and a lawn tractor and I love the brand. My electric Craftsman quit working and I needed a new trimmer to get me through the year and a clearance item fit the bill perfectly. A year and a half later and I still love this machine. It's got plenty of power and is very easy to start. Since I'm used to lugging around 15lb chainsaws the weight of this unit is not an issue for me. I loosened up the handle a little so that I can spin it around and use it as a string edger and the engine works fine upside-down. Some people are complaining about the engine not working right immediately after start-up. For two cycle engines, you have to start them and let them idle for three minutes before using them. Only when they reach operating temperature should they be pushed. Think of it like a car; on a cold day, would you get right in and drive off? No. You let it warm up. Same thing goes for small engines. My only gripe on this trimmer, which I knew about before I purchased it, is that I can't use attachments like I could with a different trimmer. It's a one-piece shaft so I can't switch it out for a brush cutter, pole saw, or hedge trimmer. I'm thinking about buying a 128LDx so that I can have the versatility of using attachments, but as a string trimmer this in a great machine. March 17, 2013
Trimmer has easiest maintenance on filters I have seen This trimmer is a powerhouse. Has no problem cutting tough woody stem weeds and grass. Bought one for home use and when church needed new trimmer we decided a 223L would work best. February 1, 2013
