Senior Citizen This trimmer is too heavy for me so it leaves all of the work for my husband. He admitted it was heavy for him too. Unfortunately we have to maintain the yard, but the trimmer does a good job. July 16, 2011
This Trimmer Runs under water! Recently i was trimming around a large pond near my home, with my Husqvarna 128LDx. When i lost my footing, i feel into the pond at the deepest part. While falling i tried to throw the trimmer away from the water, but was unsuccessful. I fell into the water, well over 6ft. deep, where i was able to watch the trimmer fall in as well. Believe it or not the trimmer was running from the time it hit the water, until it reached the bottom. A good 10 seconds! I was worried that i had ruined the trimmer, seeing that it had stayed on the bottom of the lake for a good 30 to 45 mins. by now, yet i was able to fish it out, and take it to my house to evaluate the damage. I was worried that the engine would be cracked, because the trimmer was extreamly hot when it went in the cold lake water. The starting rope would not budge, meaning the engine was filled with water, so at this point i pulled the spark plug out of the engine, and dumped the water out of the trimmer, then squeezed the water out of the air filter, then put the same plug back in, cranked the trimmer and continued using it. Every word of this is true! i promise! July 14, 2011
Best Trimmer i have ever owned! Purchased this after buying a new home with a larger yard. I had previously owned a Stihl and Echo trimmers and this one has been more impressive handsdown. It has power to spare, I have never had to pull it more than twice to start, the weight balancing is very good as well. I probably have 250 ft. of sidewalk (corner lot) that i trim weekly and I have yet to get tired or back pain from using this trimmer. I also bought this trimmer due to the assortment of attachments. I will be purchasing the edger attachment in the near future with hopes of edging the 250 feet of sidewalk. At this point, I would give a ringing endorsement for this trimmer. July 12, 2011
Plenty of Power I do not have a large yard, but I do have a lot to trim. I have purchased the "green" brand for 18 years and have always struggled with power and starting. My 128LDx has plenty of power to take care of all the weeds and trim the grass along the beds and walk ways like a professional. This product is refreshing when starting. I do not have to work on it before I use it. I love it July 9, 2011
Great Trimmer A great trimmer for the money. Easy to use, line repklacement is very simple. Plenty of torque for tough grass and weeds. Very fuel efficent. Over all great value for your money. June 4, 2011
Quality,Quality,Quality!!! I owned a second hand Husqvarna chainsaw for 30 plus years that would start on the first or second pull without fail and with the exception of replacing an occasional starter rope or chain my self it never saw a repair shop. So when it came time for a new trimmer I knew which brand I was going to replace my old one with. I bought the 128LDX and it preforms great, I own 8 acres and believe me it gets a weekly workout! I not only have regular lawn grass to trim I also have tough weeds vines and small saplings to deal with and the 128 makes the job easy. From the easy start to the ample power I can finnish the job with ease. The handling is great the only draw back is the shaft is a bit short for me. I am tall so I think if the shaft was a bit longer it would make handling for me more comfortable. But that was an issue with my old trimmer as well. I would recommend the 128lDX to anyone who wants a quality workhorse trimmer. May 31, 2011
Not happy with product, and service Unit will only run with choke set at half, took unit to local AUTHERIZED dealer ( ACE Hardware Kaukauna WI), and they want to charge $25.00 to repair unit that is BRAND NEW only TRIED to use ONCE but it wont stay RUNNING. Sure would be nice if it would STAY RUNNING and AUTHERIZED DEALER DIDN"T CHARGE TO REPAIR BECAUSE I DIDN'T PURCHASE IT FROM THEM. NOT HAPPY AT ALL!. I have been purchasing chain saw's lawn mowers, and now a string trimmer form Husqvarna. This fall I am purchasing a new snow blower, and after this experiance I am going to go to brand X. Pro Performance Meets Homeowner Demands After going through 2 other string trimmers, I decided to trade- up to something better; my clear choice was the 128LDx. I haven't been able able to trim my 1/2 acre lawn in 2 months and it was starting to look jungle- like. The 128 did a fantastic job of trimming back the overgrowth and edging the curb and sidewalks. Easy to start and easy to assemble, they even include an allan wrench to adjust the guard. I would strongly recommend using a mid grade gasoline as it usually doesn't contain ethanol, which is not good for your 2- cycle machines. May 22, 2011
