HUSQVARNA 128L 4.5 5 254 254
Recoil starter is very poorly designed - no recoil, no start Bought the 128L string trimmer to use occassionaly as I have a lawn service, but sometimes need to use a blower or other attachment. Have owned it for about six weeks, and used it maybe three times. Worked great those three times. started easily, ran well, did the job. Used it yesterday for short time, stopped it, restarted it a few minutes later - easy restart, used it for a few minutes. I stopped it, and attempted to restart it again a few minutes later - recoil starter jammed with the rope out, and will not rewind. I have started this thing maybe 10 times since I bought it, and now no recoil on the starter. Totally unacceptable. I have owned other brands that cost half as much, used them for a couple years almost weekly, and never had an issue with the recoil starter. I have had many gasoline powered products, have had broken pull ropes, but never a jammed recoil starter. I would not recommend this unit to anyone, unless you have a back up unit, an extended warranty, and a repair shop very close by. I will be taking it in for repair under warranty (I hope as it is supposed to have a 2 yr), I hope they can fix it properly under warranty. Rediculous that a recoil starter jams so early in its life. A true sign of poor quality. July 8, 2012
great product i recently purchased a husqvarna 128l trimmer to replace my fourth ryobi trimmer. i have always used the ryobi line of trimmers for the attachments. i decided to try the husqvarna trimmer due to the love i had for their chainsaws. from the first use i was happy with the overall characteristics of the unit. it starts easy and runs very well. plenty of power and really love the fact that he trimmer head stops turning at an idle. i also like the guard on this unit as well as it seems to be well designed to cut down on trimmings coming back at me. after a few extended uses for light and thick and tall grass i will purchase again. hands were not feeling numb like with the ryobi's. Should have gotten one sooner My 128LD starts and runs great, everything about this trimmer fits the bill for my needs and then some. This trimmer makes #3 in my Husqvarna gas powered tool team, and all of them make outdoor chores so much easier. June 26, 2012
The Best Trimmer I've Owned This is, hands down, the best trimmer I've ever purchased. It's easy to start, provides great power, and can handle any job I throw at it. It also has great attachments available, which I look forward to purchasing soon. You won't be disappointed with this purchase. June 23, 2012
Was really happy until.... I've had the trimmer for just over one year and until now it's worked great. Until it stopped working great. It started with trouble getting it to start. Then once it's started it will run for a few minutes - or until you lift it up and try to use it. Then it dies. I tried to take it back to Lowes where I bought it, but I need the receipt (which I can't locate - it's been a year!) otherwise they won't work on it - dang near accusing me of stealing the thing. I took it to another repair shop where they fidgeted with it, but because they can't get parts (they say Husqvarna is the hardest to get parts for) they can't fix it. So now I'm stuck with at $200 piece of yard art and weeds that are out of control. Next time I think I'll buy a goat. June 21, 2012
dependable I have had this trimmer for about 6 weeks now and is very easy to start and use. June 17, 2012
Not the best trimmer so far. After about an hour of use the unit is acting like it's not getting enough gas. It revs up and runs great until you go to cut thick grass and it bogs down and dies. Brand new gas and oil mixture. Could it possibly need a carb adjustment already? Or should I try new a new batch of gas and oil? Would higher octane fix this. I know I haven't provided much but this started happening right out of the box. June 5, 2012
excellent for the diy'er I use it about once a week. It starts great. No problems here. Highly recommend June 3, 2012
