I have a lawncare company and I have 2 of these trimmers and they are used commercially, I have owned the trimmers for 6ish years and I have replaced a carburetor, recoil, and bump head between the two trimmers...not bad for 6 years of commercial use. Parts are very reasonable for pricing. I love these trimmers, I want to get a new commercial grade trimmer, but I have no reason to when these are running so well yet. The only complaint I have is they are becoming hard to start, but given the use they go through I can't complain. I would recommend one of these trimmers to anyone looking for a nice priced trimmer that is lightweight and easy to use.

I purchased a model 128LD trimmer based on a couple years of very good service with a 125L trimmer. While the 128 works as nicely as the 125 it has been no where near as reliable; the recoil start can best be described as frail and the fuel system has been very problematic. In regards to the starter; the "Smart Start" has an extra spring in the system as compared to the usual; in my case the spring's ends eventually worked their way out of the plastic bosses they engage, jamming the starter. I could re-engage the spring but it would work for fewer starts as the plastic became more damaged. I see other reviewer's have had similar troubles; perhaps Husqvarna had a bad batch of parts at some point? (Otherwise; it's just a poorly executed design)On the plus side; the replacement starter assembly is reasonably priced. I have one on order; but for me, it's a long way to go to a service center so I've temporarily repaired the unit myself by discarding the spring and replacing it with a roll pin.In regards to the fuel system; the trimmer ran well for only a couple of weeks when it then started to behave erratically as if it was having fuel starvation problems. It would need partial choke to run at times; at other times it could run a whole tank of fuel with no trouble.Since the problem was obvious I eventually took the carburetor apart expecting to find damage to the fuel pump; I was shocked to find the pump packed full of fine debris to the point that the pump's valves could not function properly. (Out on the "farm" I can't always access perfectly filtered fuel)I immediately became suspicious of the "clunk" filter inside the fuel tank; I thought it might be damaged in some manner. I was quite surprised to find that the "clunk" wasn't even attached to the fuel line; it makes me wonder if it was ever hooked up or just fell off early on. Upon fishing the "clunk" out of the tank I found it to be in pristine condition as if it had never been used!At any rate, since re-installing the "clunk" the trimmer has run fine!

Comments about HUSQVARNA 128L:
This is a great weedeater. I cut a half acre lot with it and have never hasn't any issues with it. Starts right up everytime. I've had some issues with Husky chainsaws starting in the past so I was a little nervous with this, but it starts with no issues everytime. The tap n go head works great, and the husqvarna line is commercial grade. I've cut down massive weeds and HEAVY brush with the 128 and it's never bogged down. I have noticed it runs a little warm after heavy use but it's never effected the performance. Highly recommend!

About Me Professional
I purchased a 125L trimmer, which is the earlier version of the 128L back in 2007 (and am now into my 10th season). Use the trimmer to maintain (3) separate properties.one being a 2.5 acre residence, another a 2.0 acre residence, and the last a townhome property (with both front and rear yards). Have only replaced the plug, gas filter, and air cleaner element as required = along with performed routine maintenance on the trimmer. Am currently on my 3rd Trimmer Head, but have performed no other repairs to the trimmer. Still has the original carburetor and Primer Ball (Yes, I know its hard to believe). Simply put, this has been a "Truly Exceptional Trimmer". My next Trimmer, will definitely be a Husqvarna!

Don't Waste Your $$$$
I purchased this trimmer a little over 2 years ago and it's main use is to trim around the house and a few other small areas. After having numerous running concerns over the 2 year period I finally took it in to the dealer this past week. Once diagnosed I was advised that due to internal piston damage it would be cheaper to replace it with another trimmer rather than repair it. Now granted the trimmer is out of it's 2 year warranty period it probably has around 15 hours on it. I was advised by customer service that even if it was under warranty that it still would not be covered because it was a fuel issue that caused the scoring on the piston and that is a direct result of bad fuel. Mind you I only put the pre-mixed fuel from Baker's/Husqvarna in it. Needless to say I still have a battery powered trimmer that was purchased much cheaper still running strong and a top of the line brand name trimmer that after two years left me stranded. Doesn't say much for the product itself or the company backing it if they don't stand behind their products. I'll def. buy another trimmer but I won't make that mistake again!!

My favorite part of lawn care.
Was turned on to Husqvarna by my dad, he swears by these products up and down, he owns the next step up from this trimmer, and the YTH2246 tractor, and a Chainsaw. I am a new homeowner, so money is a bit on the snug side, especially when trying to keep credit card debt to a minimum. I initially bought a Wally World Special gas trimmer for around 80$, what a mistake, having a shoulder injury, and having to pull the cable 10-30 times to get it to sputter to life took a massive toll, by the time I started it, I would be in pain, and struggle to hold on to it, as it also vibrated heavily. Get what you pay for, right?I called my dad, and asked him if he knew anyone who wanted it, as it was causing a lot of additional pain, when he mentioned that this model was on sale at Lowes. I went over and tried his out. 2 pumps on the primer bulb and one crank and it was fired up, the recoil pull made starting less of a chore and made me smile with success. I trimmed about 1/4 of his area around his house and was sold. Very little vibration, easy starting, relatively lightweight, and easy to handle. Ran over to Lowes, and ended up only spending 190$, I purchased extra string and a couple pre-mixed fuel cans (both Husqvarna's).As a side note, I have an old MTD (Western Auto, for those who remember them) Wizard, I have dumped so much time, money, and effort into restoring that it's sickening. I have to stop mowing about half my yard to let it cool down, but I get to break out my awesome Husqee trimmer, which is the highlight of my bi-weekly lawn care ritual. Trims so easy, and the chain link fence that gave me so many problems before is so much easier to manage now. the straight shaft makes it easier to determine my distance from the fence, preventing the line from getting destroyed from wrapping around it. Trimming under bushes and trees is simply a breeze now. Best part is, I don't have to spend an hour icing my shoulder down after using it.Highly recommended for anyone, spend the extra coin and get something with quality that you can love. If I had only one complaint, is the shaft feels shaky if you have to turn it to get to a hard to reach spot.Might I add that the assembly tool included is built better than some of my garage tools? That's pretty sad.Next purchase, backpack leaf blower, and the YTH2246 to replace the Wizard, which, by the way, is now for sale.

I don't write reviews. For a consumer-grade trimmer, it rocks. Put a good .095" line in it and tear some stuff up (safety eyewear is a must!). It's low maintenance, powerful, and durable enough for my 30 acre farm. It starts easily (just follow the directions on the sticker stuck to the engine shroud) and it runs surprisingly smooth; I'm not numb from vibration hours after I shut it off. Really good on fuel, too!I'm getting Dad one for Father's Day so I don't have to keep asking for mine back.
Use it around yard and starts very easy. Have 1.4 acres to mow and then trim with it.
