This is a strong trimmer for the price.
It is easy to crank and will mow through the toughest weeds.

My favorite part of lawn care.
Was turned on to Husqvarna by my dad, he swears by these products up and down, he owns the next step up from this trimmer, and the YTH2246 tractor, and a Chainsaw. I am a new homeowner, so money is a bit on the snug side, especially when trying to keep credit card debt to a minimum. I initially bought a Wally World Special gas trimmer for around 80$, what a mistake, having a shoulder injury, and having to pull the cable 10-30 times to get it to sputter to life took a massive toll, by the time I started it, I would be in pain, and struggle to hold on to it, as it also vibrated heavily. Get what you pay for, right?
I called my dad, and asked him if he knew anyone who wanted it, as it was causing a lot of additional pain, when he mentioned that this model was on sale at Lowes. I went over and tried his out. 2 pumps on the primer bulb and one crank and it was fired up, the recoil pull made starting less of a chore and made me smile with success. I trimmed about 1/4 of his area around his house and was sold. Very little vibration, easy starting, relatively lightweight, and easy to handle. Ran over to Lowes, and ended up only spending 190$, I purchased extra string and a couple pre-mixed fuel cans (both Husqvarna's).
As a side note, I have an old MTD (Western Auto, for those who remember them) Wizard, I have dumped so much time, money, and effort into restoring that it's sickening. I have to stop mowing about half my yard to let it cool down, but I get to break out my awesome Husqee trimmer, which is the highlight of my bi-weekly lawn care ritual. Trims so easy, and the chain link fence that gave me so many problems before is so much easier to manage now. the straight shaft makes it easier to determine my distance from the fence, preventing the line from getting destroyed from wrapping around it. Trimming under bushes and trees is simply a breeze now. Best part is, I don't have to spend an hour icing my shoulder down after using it.
Highly recommended for anyone, spend the extra coin and get something with quality that you can love. If I had only one complaint, is the shaft feels shaky if you have to turn it to get to a hard to reach spot.
Might I add that the assembly tool included is built better than some of my garage tools? That's pretty sad.
Next purchase, backpack leaf blower, and the YTH2246 to replace the Wizard, which, by the way, is now for sale.

I don't write reviews.
For a consumer-grade trimmer, it rocks. Put a good .095" line in it and tear some stuff up (safety eyewear is a must!). It's low maintenance, powerful, and durable enough for my 30 acre farm. It starts easily (just follow the directions on the sticker stuck to the engine shroud) and it runs surprisingly smooth; I'm not numb from vibration hours after I shut it off. Really good on fuel, too!
I'm getting Dad one for Father's Day so I don't have to keep asking for mine back.

I bought this trimmer in November of 2010, but did not use it until spring of 2011. I noticed after using it a few times that it had oil all over the outside cover, but didn't think too much of it at first. I finally ended up taking it to the dealer(Chain Saws Plus-Grandville, Mi.) and they adjusted and inspected it and told me there was a scratch on the intake side of the cylinder. that was in September of 2012. I finished the season out using it and returned to the dealer and they agreed to replace the cylinder and piston under warranty. I got the unit back just before the spring of 2013 and after using it for the first time , i had the same problem of oil all over the outside cover which they(the dealer) claimed was due to improper fuel mixture. I knew this wasn't true be cause I had purchased a Husky blower at the same time I bought the trimmer and did not have any problems at all with that. Finally the dealer replaced the carburator in may of 2014 and I used it all that season with no problems. I've used it about six times this year so far and now I have oil all over the outside cover again. I've spent over $130.00 on this product since I've owned it and needless to say I'm very dissatisfied. Perhaps I just got a lemon, because I like everything else about the product.

Another Quality Husqvarna product
Bought this to do the trimming at my company after buying a blower and being impressed by the quality. I am no less impressed with this trimmer. It is easy to start, and very powerful. We don't have a lot of grass that can be mowed with a mower so most of it is trimmed. This trimming amounts to the circumference of a good sized retention pond and about 350-400 feet of fence line and 400+ feet of wall along the outside of our building. My guys previously complained about the lack of power of our Ryobi and bolens trimmers and that they were unable to use thicker trimmer line(needed because of the fence). This changed that. This thing knocks down grass and weeds two feet high on occasion and keep coming for more. Its a little heavier than a 24-25cc model would be but the power is worth it.
