Purchased this trimmer about a month ago and so far - so good. I have had several other brands: Ryobi, Cub Cadet etc. in the past and with all the attachments (pole saw, blower, hedger, brush blades, pole extensions and a few straight shafts with different line heads) I wanted something that worked with those and hopefully was more durable and reliable. The 128CD accepts all the attachments and hopefully will live a little longer. The trimmer is much quieter than any other model I have ever owned - which is around 6 in the last 10 years. It's also has probably the lowest vibration also. By far the easiest one to start, without question. Works great and am very happy with it so far. I have 14 acres so it will get a lot of use. Personally I like the curved shaft for some things, like around trees, the cabin and barn. The shaft is a little shorter than my straight shafts but I think it makes the trimmer much lighter too - which is great! This would be perfect for someone with a typical size yard. Luckily I have another high quality Stihl trimmer too and I load both on the tractor and swap out as needed. This unit does not have the power of the larger (bigger engine and price too) Stihl and will bog down a little if ya get into heavy growth, but for your average yard is fine. I'm also surprised that the smaller diameter trimmer line does much better than I expected and it seems to last longer too - not near as much head bumping needed. I know Husqvarna owns Poulan and some reviewers have said this is just a Poulan with Husky decals. I don't think so - many parts may be interchangeable but this thing sure seems to be better built to me - IMHO. I really like the quality look and feel. Good ergonomics and super easy starting. About the only cons I should mention are the short shaft - if ya need the reach then get the straight shaft version. Not great for real heavy growth (although it will cut heavy stuff - just takes some time).Seems to either have a smaller fuel tank or uses a little more gas than my other old and dead units. Doesn't matter to me. I can now finish everything, using both trimmers, without having to refill.None of the cons are of any concern to me since I can swap it out with the Stihl when needed or change out the shaft. It works great with the blower, pole saw and hedger too. My only issue is with longevity - I sure hope it last longer than the other cheap ones. Time will tell and I'll try to post an update, if I can. So far - Highly Recommended!!!

1 1/2 years old, taken care of, fuel run out before storage. Started this year, for 2 uses, but 3rd. try won't even try to start.I have had $49.00 weed whackers that lasted 10 years without problems. This is a piece of junk. Typical of current manufactured products in US and abroad. What do you get for $179.00 - nothing but junk !

Comments about HUSQVARNA 128CD:
OK weed eater. Biggest concern is lack of attachments namely an edging attachment. Bought this unit under the impression from the advertising but misled. Can be very difficult to start at times.

Purchased mine over 2 years ago and it's been very good...we live in a warm climate and use it quite often, plus I do 2 other yards. As of now it's been used close to 150 times.

I bought this product because I thought it's a good brand but it's a total mistake. This product only lasted for 4 months, I didn't use it more than twice a month.

No right parts at retailer

The trimmer I like, it starts every time and I have had other trimmers that you would crank, and crack, and crack with no success of stating. As for the Husqvarna 128CD, it starts every time and I have had it about 2 years now. The only problem I have is the plastic tap that would allow the string to release out had worn down to where there is a hole in it and I can not find just the part I need to replace it...

need to replace the spool
overall, I love the trimmer. however the spool has worn out rather quickly. I am attempting to replace, but cannot locate the pinhole to lock the shaft in place so that I can remove the old spool. Do I need to unlock the whole shaft, as if i was putting on a different attachment? any help would be greatly appreciated..Paul G

Product is great
The product was easy to assemble and even easier to start. I've multiple other trimmers and by far this is the easiest to use and does the best job. Wish I had tried one before spending money on other brands that didn't work as well and cost more than the Husqvarna.
Replacing a five year old Stilh
I am a disabled vet so I needed something light enough for me to handle. This was a very pleasant surprise...lightweight, easy to put together, started right up and allowed me the freedom to do some of my own yard work.
Excellent overall but very difficult to start.
I have used it twice so far with the optional steel blade attachment on very tough weeds in a mountain lot. It is comfortable to use and very powerful; hardly ever had I to use anything other than idle on 1/2" stalks. You can probably mow 3/4" with higher throttle but you'll be pushing it. I cannot give it 5 stars because it is VERY difficult to start ( we are talking 30-40 pulls here) and I followed the instructions to a T. No choke setting variations seemed to help. I guess I'll have to live with it because once it starts it runs like a champ.
This product has much to recommend it.
Product is lightweight and easy on my back and shoulders. Also, has started with much ease - on the first pull ! Our lot is a little over an acre in size and the 128CD gets quite a goodworkout every 7-10 days for at least 8 months a year. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase of the 128CD.
