HUSQVARNA 576XP Autotune I "have" new a HUSQVARNA 576XP Autotune, I made 4 cuts in a downed oak tree and it died, restarted and would not stay running. G/F took it to the shop it came from and was told there was nothing wrong with it. I came back from Atlanta and made two cuts, died at the end of the first cut as I pulled it from the tree and quit 7/8 through the second. I took it back to the shop and was told I'd burned it up cutting with a dull chain. Scored piston/cylinder. Using OEM full synthetic oil, 93 octane gas, one gallon mix in a new gas can and nice chip coming off the saw. My old 576 never gave a minutes problem and ran with tons of power. This one never cut worth a hoot from the start other than the first cut. $1000 boat anchor is what it's starting to look like. I guess I'll see what Husqvarna says before I start flaming. I'm now wondering how reliable it will be after the "repairs". I wish I could have a plain Jane 576 again. We just bought over $6000 worth of HUSQVARNA products. Now I've got to listen to the "boss" about what we have and she's hoping everything else holds up better. My old 576 ran like a big dog, this one never ran like that after the first cut. My neighbor just left and I told him what they said. He wanted to know what I cut and after showing him his jaw dropped. His response was if that's all it takes to kill a HUSQVARNA I need to sell the rest of what I bought before it blows up. October 25, 2014
Great handling saw, but... I have a small lumber business and cut daily for 6 months a year. This saw is not quite up to daily use. I have gone through 2 of these in the last year, both replaced under warranty (thank you Husqvarna for honoring the warranty, this is more of an issue with other brands I have tried). This was my favorite saw to cut and limb medium size trees, but do to reliability issues I have gone back to the "3" series of saws. Won't use Stihls because I can't take the vibration Lack of a reliable product in the 75cc range forces me to run both 70 and 88cc saws. Husqvarna, please fix the reliability issues with this saw so we can have both a high-tech and reliable product. Ideal saw for me would be the "580". It would make 6hp and weigh less than 15 lbs. It would have autotune that was reliable and did not add significant extra weight (1/2 pound is too much). Antivibe would be at 576 levels. It would have visible fuel level indicator. It would have Stihl style fuel and oil caps. All bolts would be properly torqued and thread-locked from the factory. Please send me one! April 1, 2014
the big easy I purchased the 576 xp auto tune to replace my aging 372 xp. Its primarily used to buck hardwood over 24", running either a 24" or 28"bar. The 372 is a great saw, but I like the 576 better. A wide torque filled powerband, superior av, and the auto tune quietly does its thing. Its a large, powerful saw that is surprisingly easy to operate. March 25, 2014
Excellent Ready Response Saw I lifted my first 'Husky when it was bigger than I was - it was a New Zealand Forest Service's saw, back in 1978 or so, and I never forgot it. Since then I've used a lot of 'Husky's, big and small, and am now proud to say I have one as part of our company's ready response kit here in the USA. It is light (to my mind!) powerful, simple, and above all easy to strip, clean, service, repair (not that that's been done yet) rebuild and maintain. And changing a blade and chain in a hurry at the coal (or should I say wood!) face won't be a problem. And when it does get used in anger, it won't be pretty - however I am confident it won't let us down. Trust. What more can possibly be said...... November 13, 2012
Sad, but true I have used other saws from all the big names, as well as Husqvarna XP series. The last XP i used was a 288 XP Lite, and it had power to just about rip my arms off. i am disappointed with this 576 XP Auto Tune. It bogs down when I have seen other saws, including my small John Deere 200 CS keep going. I am disappointed when working with some large cherry trees with this machine. I have long been a fan of Husqvarna equipment, and wonder if i just got a bad machine or what. Small saplings (8-10 inch diameter) should not bog a machine of this caliber down. I do have to admit that the dealer I purchased it from was very helpful up to taking delivery of the machine, included a case and 4 extra chains, plus the cold weather equipment for the saw. After that, however, I heard nothing after asking if there was a way to confirm correct operation and power output of the saw. To the positive side of this, my 12 year old daughter was able to start the machine numerous times. That is quite pleasant for me, not because I let her run my saws, but rather because she is 12, and can start a pro chainsaw. The saw runs quite smooth when it is up to speed and doing what it should be doing. It is one of the smoothest running saws I have ever owned or used. My decision to not recommend this saw is based upon the disappointment at having the bar burned during normal use when my John Deere, used when the Husky didn't do it, have not. True it is a smaller chain width, but it is also a smaller machine by about half. I do have a lot of experience with other Husqvarna equipment, including the 288 which is close to 20 years old if not older. That machine is able to run circles around this one, which is on par with a 455 Rancher I have. November 7, 2012
Awesome pro timber saw I been running a 576AT for a year now and by far it has the best torque in its class. It pulls just as hard as my old 288XP which is an 88 cc saw !!!!!! Im running a 32" bar cutten timber and bucking logs, nothen stops this saw except the stop switch!!!! March 22, 2012
A GREAT CHAINSAW I recently bought this chainsaw, I run a 20 and 24 inch bar and chain. This is the best chainsaw I have ever ran.It has excellent power and is a very smooth and reliable saw.I bought it to do some heavy duty felling and limbing so, far it has not missed a beat.I just wanted to tell everyone at Husqvarna thanks for making such a great product! Best saw ever used I was out of work and had an old Husky saw ( ranch style),i was cutting alot and fried my piston.I needed a good long lasting saw ,so i of course went to a Husky dealer in town.He set me up with a fair price and a great vaule with the 576 xp.I have since became a firewood salesman.i have cut up about 100 cords of wood with my new saw and it is still going like the first day i got. Low maintence and quick on the cut. Thanks HUSQVARNE for keeping food on the table, and wood in our fireplace and many other fireplaces.Larry December 21, 2011
