Stay away from Husqvarna! Bought the saw at the start of summer to compliment my other competitor’s saw.  Used the same gas and oil mix in my competitor’s saw as well as in the Husqvarna 562XP.  After less than 24 hours of use, I took the saw in because it was getting progressively harder to start.  After being in the service shop for 42 days I got a call saying that the carburetor has some worn parts that would be covered under warranty.  Great covered under warranty and it will be a couple more weeks until they get the parts installed.  A couple weeks pass and I call the shop and they say that it still isn't running quite right and they are looking for something else wrong, now the saw has been in repair for 2 months and they still don't know what is wrong.  Get a call a few weeks later stating that the piston is scored and not covered under warranty, sorry nothing we can do.  As I said before I run the same gas/oil mix for my competitor’s saw as well as the Husqvarna.  Ended up taking my competitor’s saw into the dealer to see if that piston had any trouble, and he said it looked perfect.  Called Husqvarna to inquire about the manufacturer defect, and why it would not be covered under warranty.  They were rude and would not let you talk to anyone that knew anything about the chainsaw and said they will communicate directly with the shop, nothing I can do about it, and no one I can talk to.  So after paying just over 700 dollars for the saw I got 24 hours of use out of it.  Terrible service, horrible customer service, and a joke of a chainsaw.  Will never buy another product with the name Husqvarna on it again.  Buyer beware, stay away!  You have been warned. Update: on 12/6/14 I took the saw to two independent (Non-Husqvarna) dealers both looked at the piston which was scored on the exhaust side only, both stated that running on straight fuel, or an improper mixture would give both intake and exhaust, nearly 360 degree damage, not what my saw has. They both said that due to the intake side being perfect that it was likely another problem. The one dealer said he would suspect an air leak, and that would be covered if I would have bought his saw. The one dealer admitted to Husqvarna being a terrible company for a customer to deal with. So once again, you have been warned, buy a different brand. December 6, 2014
light and strong I bought my 562XP about 6 months ago and have used it several times per month since then. I have not had any of the starting or hesitating issues described in other reviews. Use 5 pumps to the bulb, two or three pulls with the choke, then two pulls with the choke off to always start it from cold or tank empty. Hot or tank not empty also starts easy; less bulb pumps, less choke. I have not needed to use the decompression feature. This unit is light enough for me to work in the woods felling, bucking and limbing trees with it all day. Keeping the chain cutters sharp and the chain tight is all you need to do; this unit will make piles of chips very quickly. I have got a 24" bar on it and it makes me confident I can take down just about any tree I want to, quickly. Power is outstanding, the machine is streamlined and has excellent vibration mounts; fuel consumption is modest for the power. I have been cutting a lot of locust here in Illinois, trees 2 feet or more in diameter at stump. Air cleaner stays clean, 33 to 1 up to 50 to 1 fuel/oil mixes are OK. I use 93 octane fuel. This is a professional quality device that really proves its worth under hard use. It is 60cc saw that is as light as a 50cc saw with the power of a 70cc. Good work Husqvarna. November 12, 2014
Darn Nice Saw In the 70's & 80's I ran Stihl exclusively cutting and selling cordwood. Top of the line was heavy raw power. I currently run 19 heavily wooded acres and Sandy created havoc. Red & White Oak, Maple & Locust much of it 30" plus. I needed something more than the Ranchers and didn't realize there was a Stihl dealer a few miles away. I knew where the Husqy dealer was. I was a bit surprised at the price but ... I don't cut much "soft" hardwood and many days its just locust. Pine, Hemlock & Spruce are rare and actually fun to just sort of push through. I hate to say it but I'm glad I didn't know about the Stihl Dealer. Killer saw with a 24" bar. Easier on gas than the Ranchers. I can run in longer in comfort. November 11, 2014
Great Saw Love the 562 with the full wrap its a fast light saw with a ton of power. Been able to pull a 32" bar with semi skip square chains. Been in as big as 6' cedar and fir with it. Its no 390 or 395 but a great light alternative to a 372. November 10, 2014
It's just sick! I'm used to a big bore saw with a woods mod but with lots of weight also so after reading how so many love this saw on the forums I decided to get one and I'm more than thrilled with its stout power and instant revs! I run full chisel chain and it cuts very fast and without the weight of the bigger saws. I'd compare this saw to a 372 XP. For those that can't start the saw warm, go back and refer to the starting procedures, It'll start right up if done right. Nice job Husqvarna R&D! September 29, 2014
Great saw great fun It's that silent moment when you know everything is just right and then, bam!!!! Took down a 40" x 70' pine in about 5 seconds. The right tool for the right job. 24" bar makes a huge difference. Go big or go home. If I had the money I would buy 2 more. Can't find anything wrong with this saw. September 14, 2014
Awsome Saw ... I got my new 562 XP to replace my great working 268 XP At the NY Woodsmen Show , which I had new since 1989 . The 562 XP is so easy to start and the power is so awesome . It fits so nice going from my old saw to the new one. I am So glad I got it and at great show price . August 16, 2014
Great Saw! I got my 562 and went and got a load of wood the first day it idles great! It sawed through Lodgepole pine like butter. Starts pretty good for as high compression as it is. August 7, 2014
