HUSQVARNA 550 XP®
I was a little worried about the auto tune carb, but after doing some research and talking to the mechanic at the shop I went with it and couldn't be happier. It is lighter and slimmer than my stihl but performs just as good if not better. Does take a few more pulls to get it started but not bad at all.

Impressed from the first pull.
I am so very impressed with this saw. It is like the Porsche 911 turbo of the chain saw world, or a 50 cal machine gun. You point it at what you want to go away and it makes it happen. I traded up from a 435 to the 550 XP and wondered why I bought the 435 in the first place. Thank you Husqvarna for making such a kick butt and take names saw.

Amazing piece of engineering!
Just took the 550XP out of the box, read the manual and fired it up. I've never been impressed enough with any other product to write a review before, but that all changed today. This saw is amazing! I've run a lot of pro saws over the years, but nothing like this one. Once the auto-tune did its thing and found the optimal settings, this saw was raw power. I had a 14" maple bunked up and my new 550XP just ripped through it. No bogging down. Just flew through it. If you're on the fence, just buy it. You won't be disappointed.

Great handling lightweight powerhouse!
This saw is powerful, has great ergonomics, runs perfectly due to AutoTune and is a pleasure to use. Site guage on fuel tank is handy, RevBoost rounds out a perfect package. On top of all else, it looks great too. Can you tell I like it?

Vibration is kept in check making this saw a pleasure to run all day.
Could not be more pleased.

UPGRADE FROM 353
While my cutting time with this saw is just starting, my initial impressions are very positive. So far I've found the 20" bar to be a back-saver and the speed and power are very impressive. I traded a Husky 353 for this 550 XP and was amazed at the upgrade in technology that comes with this saw. It's actually slightly lighter with more hp and speed than the 353 and is priced within my budget - I'm retired. Although my cutting experience is only for home firewood, so far this saw has exceeded my expectations. I look forward to many enjoyable trips to the woods with this new 550 XP.

The 550XP is a nutty little revver!!!!!!
All I can say is WOW!! The power this little saw makes is unreal. I can't imagine a saw this physical size being any more powerful. It revs like crazy and has wailed through all the pine and popple I have pointed it at. I agree with prior reviews that states superior power to weight ratio here. No kidding. The starting method is fairly specific, and as long as you use it, it will start fine. I have no complaints on the starting/idling of this saw. I have the 18" bar on mine and have no desire to go bigger - I mainly use this saw to clear trees that fall down in my yard and on my trails; I do not burn firewood for heat. I stepped up to a pro model saw simply because I cannot handle the idea of owning a saw with a plastic crankcase. I cannot comment on the drive sprocket as I have not disassembled that far yet. I am very happy with this saw and would recommend to anyone.

Excellent all around saw
I paid my way through graduate school clearing right of way for a road crew, so I have a good understanding of how to run a chainsaw. Now I cut several cords of firewood a year. Did I need an XP Pro saw? No. Am I glad I bought one? Absolutely. This saw is excellent. Awesome power to weight ratio, great handling and ergonomics. Like a few others here, I had trouble starting it after refueling or sharpening. Here's the trick: First, engage high-idle. Second, lightly pull the cord until you feel the starter pawls engage. Then, a sharp pull will get it started. I was cranking and cranking but if you don't get the starter pawls engaged, you are wasting energy. Using that technique (which is spelled out in the manual) this saw is an absolute dream. Now I'm saving my pennies for a 562XP! My only complaint is the chain sprocket, which makes it tricky to mount a chain.
