395XP Review
For tackling the bigger jobs this is our workhorse, we run from 28 to 36" bars on this saw and it has plenty of power to handle everything we have attempted to cut. Largest tree to date was 6' 4" in diameter; not a problem, once notched saw did not hesitate once in dropping it. We do use a spray lube on the longer bars, where there seems to be some difficulty with the oil getting to the end. and also grease the tip every third or forth time the saw is removed from the tree. To date no problems!

powerhouse
I bought this saw to share the workload with my 372 doing landclearing and firewood on my farm. For the first couple weeks i was very pleased with it then it developed a problem where it would run good for 10-15min then sputter out and quit. Then it needs to sit for 30+ min before it will fire up again. It does this consistently. I took it to a local dealer and they though they fixed it but the problem remains. Its back in the shop now and they really dont know what the problem is. I bought it from a dealer online in new jersey and i dont know if ill have to bring it back there if the local shop cant get it going. The six month warrantee is running out and ive hardly gotten to use it.

Big. Tough. Saw.
I bought this saw to fell some bigger trees. I've had to turn down a couple jobs because I didn't have a saw big enough.
For my big saws I have a 365SP and a 372XP. They're great saws, but there's a limit to every saw and you should use a saw correctly sized for the job.
The power from this saw will easily pull a 5-foot bar and chain through any wood you need it to. It's a bit heavy, and the kickback can be nasty if you're not properly trained to deal with it, but if you need a big, powerful, reliable saw, this is a pretty dang good one. Great if you've got a chainsaw mill too.
I've had a tree roll on top of this saw and it survived with only a couple issues. A new recoil and full-wrap handle and she's good as new.

Bring Enough SAW! Husqvarna 395 XP
If it can be cut, this saw will cut it. By far the most powerful saw I've ran. For all of you who like having just a little bit more than you will ever need, this is the saw for you.

pro timberfaller
i have been using husqvarna saws for 38 yrs now.i am a pro timber faller in calif.i bought one stihl when they came out with the 064.it lasted a little more than a yr.i work an average of 7 hrs a day 6 days a week.my husqvarna's last 4 to 6 yrs now.but they used to last at least 3 yrs before i got so good a taking care of them and using union 76 airkool oil mix.it burns so clean that there is no carbon build up to grind the saws insides up.as long as the engine is good its always economical to keep repairing the outside parts.i am 56 yrs old now and there is not any stihl operators that can out cut me and my husqvarna and its incredible power-patrick...

new purchase for construction background homeowner
I recently purchased a 395XP with the 24" bar along with a 36" bar. I am a"mature" homowner with a 3.5 acre somewhat rural property with extensive construction, engineering, repair and chainsaw experience including my own Oregon professional chain sharpener. This is the most powerful chainsaw I have owned, the 5th in my lifetime, purchased to augment my 2 other medium sized saws for larger diameter felling and firewood sawing. So far it has had limited use 5 hours or so but it is a REAL performer, cutting through 12-24" and larger material like a knife through butter. My neighbor, a professional logger uses a 390XP regularly with good results and VERY efficient cutting. .Wth the relatively premium price over mid size saws I am hoping the durability is as good as the initial performance. I was suprised to find that it only has a 6 month warrenty, understandable for daily professional use but not for occasional use. Also disappointed to get no response from Husqvarna in my request for the correct manual for a 395XP as the one provided is for a 385 and 390XP(6/30 now 7/21). This is my 1st Husqvarna after having Mc Cullough(40+ years ago)then Shindaiwa (20 years old)and Stihl (12 years) that I still use.

An amazing saw
I am actually an owner of the 394xp (older model). The way husqvarna builds there saws are amazing. They are durable and have such simplistic design that even a person with little small engine mechanical abilities can work on this saw. I have down a complete rebuild on my saw and i know i have an extra 10 years on the saw now.

Best saw in my collection
I bought this saw three years ago for my tree trimming/removal business and it is by far the most reliable saw that i own. From my own findings it requires less maintenance as well because of its size. if you blow the air cleaner out and take a wire brush to the spark plug before every use (and keep the coil clean) this saw should last you a very, very long time and run like the day you bought it without fail. I also purchased a bench mounted saw chain grinder for around 350 bucks so with my 395xp running great and cutting to its optimal performance I can cut faster and more efficiently than any of my friends with 60-70cc class saws by a long shot! I can cut 2-3 rounds to their 1... AWESOME SAW!
