I've waited to review this mower until I could get some really good use out of it. I have 42 hours on it and have no complaints besides some minor flaws with the front tires going flat. I took the tires to the dealer where I bought it and they gave me a tube and took it down to the tire store and they paid to have the tube installed. Other than that, I really have no complaints. The mower cuts excellant once your gauge wheels and deck is set properly. The mower could go a little faster in my opinion but I didn't test the higher horsepower models to get a base comparison on speed. I purchased the mulching kit which came with mulching blades and a baffle for the side discharge. I noticed that the lawn looks a lot better without the baffle in place. It seems that the grass just gets clumped up too much despite adjusting the height of the deck higher. Other than these few minor things I wouldn't have any other mower. I have mowed with other brands before but they just don't compare to the mower you get here from Husqvarna.

This tractor is amazing. Had a huszvarva for 11 years that never gave me any truouble. Deceided to upgrade for a bigger moter and larger deck. Couldn't be more pleased.

Good Mower For The Money
I have very nearly 50 years’ experience using and owning residential garden tractors and riding lawnmowers and this mower is probably the best I’ve ever had. The Briggs engine is smooth, quiet and powerful with very little vibration and it starts easily hot or cold. I’m still getting used to the foot controlled transmission and it does seem jerky at times, but I think that’s just me. My old mower had the hydro control on the fender and the foot control is something new for me. The mower deck, once properly adjusted, cuts my one acre Bermuda lawn smoothly and with no scalping. As a test I took the mower to my neighbor’s native grass pasture that had two years’ of old growth on it and the mower cut much better than I expected. The engine had power to spare in the 2’ high grass and the chute didn’t clog once. The cut was fairly even considering the rough, uneven ground and the height of the grass. The three blade deck of this mower appears to be well designed and cuts much better than my old 42” two blade Craftsman.
With only 3 hours so far I can’t comment as to durability. I do know that compared to my 15 year old Husqvarna built Craftsman there are a lot more cheap-looking plastic parts and thin metal stampings than on the old mower. I’ve read all of the horror stories here about this mower and with that in mind I bought an extended warranty at the time of purchase. I hope I never need it.

Great Lawn Tractor at a Great Price!
I've had the tractor for 13 months and so far it's been a great investment. Depending on the time of year, it's being used once to twice a year to cut a 1.5 acre property. I have 58 hours on the meter and the unit has been problem free. When researching replacement tractors to replace the tractor I got with the house, the YTH23V48 had more features than the competitors models at the same price point. The cut is even and the turning radius is very good. The hyrdostatic transmission which is foot operated is a great feature and one of the selling points that sold me. I decided early on that I wanted the B&S Intek which was only available through my local independent dealer and had to be ordered. It was worth the wait and I would recommend this lawn tractor.

I have tried THREE of your lawn tractors: two 46 inch and one 48. ALL three of them SCALP my yard!!! If I wanted a golf course to use them on, it probably would have been OK, but I do not like my yard cut 2" high!!! You advertise that the deck is "adjustable"-----wrong!! The HIGHEST setting mows the grass SHORT. I have Bermuda grass and after using these mowers my yard went from green to BROWN because it cut the grass so short....even on the highest setting. If I had cut it on a lower setting, I would have been mowing DIRT. IF this problem could be fixed, I might consider a husqvarna again.

Great Lawn Tractor
This machine has several handy features. The hydrostatic transmission is very good in my case, since I have many obstacles to mow around, and the switch position to enable mowing in reverse makes it even better. Starting has been very good with the single lever throttle/choke.
I am pleased to have the washout port, since my previous machine did not. The spindles are easy to grease since the zerks are right on top. That was very important in my selection. I rated durability high based on what I expect, since this review is being written only a month after receipt of the tractor. I plan to use it only for mowing, so it will sit idle during the winter. The hour meter is helpful for maintenance.

Drive assembly faulty.
I purchased this tractor in March of 2011. At first it did an outstanding job of cutting my 1.5 acres. After a year and and half I started having trouble with the pulley bearings, one would fail and throw the drive belt. I have faithfully serviced my mower but the drive bearings are sealed and ther is no good way to wash out this area. So far I have had it in the repair shop 3 times, and I,m waiting for them to pick it up again for the same problem. If you purchase one I would recommend that you also get the extended warranty. I will not buy another one.
