I waited to do a review until I had enough hours to make changing the oil required. This mower is to replace a used 'beater' that I kind of used as a brush hog at times. As such the Husqvarna rides much better, is quieter, does a better job of an even cut and POWERS up hills. The turning radius is nice as is the ROS feature. Amazingky eniough changing the oil was quite easy and while I had some papers down no drips or mess at all. Only problem so far is now I can't reset the service needed light manually (five 1 second cycles on and off). Oh well when it reaches 100 hours I'll change it again.

Good mower but has it's minuses
Love the hydrostatic, but hate the lever mechanism to engage mower.
Love the mower height adjustment mechanism, but it doesn't have any extra lift to get it up and out of the way. This causes the mower to get stuck in small ruts, bumps and depressions - Very aggravating.
Seems to be well constructed, but how do you rate durability when it is only a couple of weeks old.
It has good power and cuts well and I'd probably recommend it for a nice flat area, but I have a lot of hills and valleys and it gets stuck very easily, so therefor my no vote.

reverse need to improve
It is a good machine. The reverse pad is very difficult to operate--very tight to get it operate. Very good safty -- as soon as you step out from seat, the engine stop. The tyre need to improve-- need more traction.

Hydrostatic Transmission sticks
Bought this mower in March 2013 after much research. On June 24 just 5 days past Lowes 90 day return policy it began to have a problem. When you are moving forward using the automatic transmission pedal and you take your foot from the pedal it sticks and keeps going forward. Contacted Lowes and they told me to take it to a service center since it was past 90 days. Service center said bring it in in 3 weeks. Waited 3 weeks and took it in. Oh but now you can leave it and we will get it back in about 6 weeks. Now who can do without a mower for 6 weeks during the summer? Called Husqvarna directly and after waitin 20 minutes was told sorry you have to take it to a service center. If the one you went do can't do it we suggest you go to the one 100 miles away and see if they can help. I explained to them it was a safety issue and needed to be addressed. Same answer. Take it to a service center. (I have since found out this is a problem with these mowers). Maby my lawer can make them understand after I get hurt trying to use it.

Cadillac of garden tractors for the money
I have owned John Deere and Yard Machine garden tractors and by far this is the best yet.

Nice mower, with a couple caveats
I've used my new YTH22V46 for a total of about 5 hours now. In most respects it is an excellent homeowner-grade riding mower, and certainly higher quality than what it replaced (a 16 year old bottom of the line MTD). Once I adjusted the deck levels it cuts nice and even. Plenty of power; the only time it came close to bogging down was when I ran it through a near swamp. I also like the mechanical deck level lever and manual PTO; not much chance of a malfunction there.
Traction is this mower's weak point. My old MTD leaped up hills where my Husky just spins the tires, no matter how gentle I press the forward hydro pedal. I set all tire pressure to Husqvarna specifications and it still breaks loose. This is partially due to this tractor's greater weight, but my 1984 JD 318 garden tractor with hand hydro lever also climbs hills where the Husky spins and it outweighs the Husky by a few hundred pounds. I'll just have to come up with different mowing patterns to work around it.
Mowing deck design does not include a flat rectangular output, so I had to find & buy a lower bagger chute specifically for this 46" deck to connect my leaf vacuum.
Still, it fits my need and I hope I get as much time out of it as I got from it's predecessor.

Hour Meter Problems & Quality of Customer Service
Recently purchased your garden tractor Model YTH2246 from Lowes in Jeff City, MO. We pondered whether to get a John Deere, Troy Bilt or Husqvarna.
Lowe’s delivered the 1st mower and after putting $10 of gasoline and trying to mow, it made a VERY loud noise. I shut the motor off, went back to Lowes. They came out and discovered the transmission was out and leaking fluid!! The next day they delivered another mower and at first we thought everything was working OK ------- HOWEVER, we have used less than a half tank of gas and the hour meter already shows 51 hours!!!! NO WAY HAVE WE PUT THAT MANY HOURS ON THE MOWER. I checked the owner’s manual to see if the hours meter was registering by the hours and tenths ------- but the manual just referred hours. I also checked on your web page “Q&A” and it was stated there that if you leave the key in the ignition, the hour meter continues to run ---------- HOWEVER, that is NOT what we have done. We take the key out EVERY time we use the mower. Also, the people at Lowes did have any help or suggestions for us except to contact Husqvarna.
I called your 800 number to inquire about the hour meter and the woman that answered was very rude and uncooperative. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she stated that she did not have one and “it was not their problem”!!!
NEEDLESS TO SAY WE ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE FROM LOWES OR HUSQVARNA!!!
At the VERY least I feel we should be given a new hour meter ---- one that records the CORRECT number of minutes/hours of usage.
As of now, I wished I would have gone to Sears for my mower!!
