Cadillac of garden tractors for the money
I have owned John Deere and Yard Machine garden tractors and by far this is the best yet.

Nice mower, with a couple caveats
I've used my new YTH22V46 for a total of about 5 hours now. In most respects it is an excellent homeowner-grade riding mower, and certainly higher quality than what it replaced (a 16 year old bottom of the line MTD). Once I adjusted the deck levels it cuts nice and even. Plenty of power; the only time it came close to bogging down was when I ran it through a near swamp. I also like the mechanical deck level lever and manual PTO; not much chance of a malfunction there.
Traction is this mower's weak point. My old MTD leaped up hills where my Husky just spins the tires, no matter how gentle I press the forward hydro pedal. I set all tire pressure to Husqvarna specifications and it still breaks loose. This is partially due to this tractor's greater weight, but my 1984 JD 318 garden tractor with hand hydro lever also climbs hills where the Husky spins and it outweighs the Husky by a few hundred pounds. I'll just have to come up with different mowing patterns to work around it.
Mowing deck design does not include a flat rectangular output, so I had to find & buy a lower bagger chute specifically for this 46" deck to connect my leaf vacuum.
Still, it fits my need and I hope I get as much time out of it as I got from it's predecessor.

Hour Meter Problems & Quality of Customer Service
Recently purchased your garden tractor Model YTH2246 from Lowes in Jeff City, MO. We pondered whether to get a John Deere, Troy Bilt or Husqvarna.
Lowe’s delivered the 1st mower and after putting $10 of gasoline and trying to mow, it made a VERY loud noise. I shut the motor off, went back to Lowes. They came out and discovered the transmission was out and leaking fluid!! The next day they delivered another mower and at first we thought everything was working OK ------- HOWEVER, we have used less than a half tank of gas and the hour meter already shows 51 hours!!!! NO WAY HAVE WE PUT THAT MANY HOURS ON THE MOWER. I checked the owner’s manual to see if the hours meter was registering by the hours and tenths ------- but the manual just referred hours. I also checked on your web page “Q&A” and it was stated there that if you leave the key in the ignition, the hour meter continues to run ---------- HOWEVER, that is NOT what we have done. We take the key out EVERY time we use the mower. Also, the people at Lowes did have any help or suggestions for us except to contact Husqvarna.
I called your 800 number to inquire about the hour meter and the woman that answered was very rude and uncooperative. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she stated that she did not have one and “it was not their problem”!!!
NEEDLESS TO SAY WE ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE FROM LOWES OR HUSQVARNA!!!
At the VERY least I feel we should be given a new hour meter ---- one that records the CORRECT number of minutes/hours of usage.
As of now, I wished I would have gone to Sears for my mower!!

Second use only and the tractor would not move forward or backward
I got this tractor recently and thought it was a good deal. Now I have some doubt as the tractor does not move forward or backward it should be, and this only using it twice (and less then 30 minutes each time). I start the engine and then release the brake (left pedal) and it either stalls or moves (when it moves) with a strange but subtle grinding sound at the beginning - it didn't use to do that. I looked underneath at the pulley and it seems OK to me. I might have to take to the shop to have it fixed - no time for that but I will likely have to. I still have hope it is a reliable machine in the long run but I cannot recommend it for now.

Grass Mowing Beast
I had my YTH22V46 for a month now, about 6 hours on it, and absolutely love it . It has cut my mowing time down considerably. I mow about 2/3's of an acre, mostly flat except for a ditch along highway frontage. I came from a 12.5 horse, 38 cut, red mower from the World's Largest Retailer, so this was a huge upgrade. I had also looked at Cub Cadet and John Deere and had narrowed choice to JD D110 or the Husqvarna YTH22V46. I just kept getting drawn to the Husqvarna for some reason. When it came to the final decision I had talked to a mower tech who sold me on the Husqvarna. Much more bang for your buck between the two. When I got the machine home I did a walk around and checked deck for level, ect. I did have to adjust the side to side level and it was a piece of cake, so much easier than the former red machine. I have added the front brush guard which really makes it look like a beast too. Foot controlled hydro takes a bit of getting used too. The V-Twin power is amazing so far and 46" cutting deck really flings the clippings. Love the reverse override for mowing in reverse. Super tight turning radius. I have whopped my right knee a time or two when flipping off PTO lever. Hydro disengage lever seems a little flimsy. Those would be the only negatives so far. Fixing to change the oil for the first time, so we will see how that goes. All that being said, I would highly recommend this machine!

Great product, I own many husqvarna tools and this stands with the quality of the rest of them (check the assembly over as lowes and other dealers may miss a thing or 2!) Overall great product. Mows my 2 acres quickly and leaves a great cut. Plenty of power for bigger jobs, much much better product than my 24hp cub cadet.

I love mine!
I have brutalized this machine and it still looks brand new and performs the same. I have been cutting an acre of land that is not mower friendly. Really rough and bumpy with tall grass. Thorns have killed the front tires. I have to patch both.
