engine starting I am impressed with this machine in all areas except cold engine starting. I have to crank the engine for 30 seconds, sometimes longer before it will start. Once it is started, it runs fine and will restart right off. This bothers me because it can affect the battery life and the starter life. Is this hard starting normal? LOWES is no help whatever. Good for larger areas. A great deal at Lowe's, my mower arrived with loose parts and a very uneven cut. I fixed all but the deck problem. It seems like a shipping and handling issue more than quality as the blades are not aligned in the deck. The unit must have taken a hit during shipping misaligning the blades. Lastly, the engine knocks at lower speeds. Not expected from a B&S engine. None of the issues could be addressed by the seller. Probably REALLY good units, just not mine right now. July 20, 2013
Happy Gardner My old ride-on mower died a couple of weeks ago so I was forced to consider purchasing a new one. Having done all the necessary searching on the computer for comparisons etc. I bought my Husqvarna YTH22V46 at Lowes. I have to admit a little prior knowledge here as I come from Europe where Husqvarna is a well known name in the outdoor equipment business. I am delighted with my mower especially the tight turning circle which cuts down the need for reruns over already cut areas. My yard has a steep incline but my mower can handle that! I purchased a mulching kit as well and I'm very happy with the results - no clippings to pick up! Excellent machine! July 19, 2013
Nicely done I waited to do a review until I had enough hours to make changing the oil required. This mower is to replace a used 'beater' that I kind of used as a brush hog at times. As such the Husqvarna rides much better, is quieter, does a better job of an even cut and POWERS up hills. The turning radius is nice as is the ROS feature. Amazingky eniough changing the oil was quite easy and while I had some papers down no drips or mess at all. Only problem so far is now I can't reset the service needed light manually (five 1 second cycles on and off). Oh well when it reaches 100 hours I'll change it again. July 17, 2013
Good mower but has it's minuses Love the hydrostatic, but hate the lever mechanism to engage mower. Love the mower height adjustment mechanism, but it doesn't have any extra lift to get it up and out of the way. This causes the mower to get stuck in small ruts, bumps and depressions - Very aggravating. Seems to be well constructed, but how do you rate durability when it is only a couple of weeks old. It has good power and cuts well and I'd probably recommend it for a nice flat area, but I have a lot of hills and valleys and it gets stuck very easily, so therefor my no vote. July 13, 2013
reverse need to improve It is a good machine. The reverse pad is very difficult to operate--very tight to get it operate. Very good safty -- as soon as you step out from seat, the engine stop. The tyre need to improve-- need more traction. July 12, 2013
Hydrostatic Transmission sticks Bought this mower in March 2013 after much research. On June 24 just 5 days past Lowes 90 day return policy it began to have a problem. When you are moving forward using the automatic transmission pedal and you take your foot from the pedal it sticks and keeps going forward. Contacted Lowes and they told me to take it to a service center since it was past 90 days. Service center said bring it in in 3 weeks. Waited 3 weeks and took it in. Oh but now you can leave it and we will get it back in about 6 weeks. Now who can do without a mower for 6 weeks during the summer? Called Husqvarna directly and after waitin 20 minutes was told sorry you have to take it to a service center. If the one you went do can't do it we suggest you go to the one 100 miles away and see if they can help. I explained to them it was a safety issue and needed to be addressed. Same answer. Take it to a service center. (I have since found out this is a problem with these mowers). Maby my lawer can make them understand after I get hurt trying to use it. July 8, 2013
Cadillac of garden tractors for the money I have owned John Deere and Yard Machine garden tractors and by far this is the best yet. July 7, 2013
