Meet and exceed!
I haven't had a "new" rider in 10 years. It took 2 years to actually decide what to buy. So many choices out there, do I get the deere, the crapmans, or go zero turn? Total package price on this husqavarna gt54ls was 3-4g's and I did get the three bin, which I wasn't too excited about because of the reviews, but when in Rome! I couldn't have made a better choice. I wanted the locking diff. But didn't need the fab. Cutting deck. This model was the only way to go. I have the power there if need be with the b&g 27hp. The blade engagement does sound like a helicopter ( like one of the other reviews mentioned) but it sounds more like a Blackhawk chopper! It has a deep growl more like it. From 20' away this sounds like a machine, not just some riding mower. The lock diff. Is electric select, and you wouldn't even know it, smooth and slip free. Pedal control was new to me, but man is it great. I am used to the old shifter which makes a two point turn a hassle. With the pedal controls and tight turning radius and add the wide 54" deck, this baby turns close enough to a zturn.
The flat out only thing I was surprised at was the slow reverse speed, with that said the safety feature for reverse while cutting is the best I've heard and seen. All you do is position the key at anytime in the reverse cut selector and cut all day while in reverse. Other for this feature you have to push a button, hold down a another button, then turn two keys simultaneously, just kidding of course, but it seems everyone is making a big deal about reverse/ cutting safety features, husqavarna covers it perfectly this time.
The stamped deck isn't the typical stamped deck either. You don't loss much not getting the fab. Deck, the extra reinforcement in my opinion is perfectly placed, trim side. Simply said the trim side is the go to side. The price difference in the bagger unit doesn't appeal to me, plus the blower unit sticks out like a third leg, and for me this would have prevented me from fitting in areas I can still fit into with the bagger tube.
All in all this unit will be in the family for awhile! Everything you need, including the extra power, read into the new b&g 27hp. I wasn't excited about the b&g, I would have preferred the kawy, but b&g put a lot into this motor, it seems like it is b&g's last chance to make up for the whole hp mis calculation years ago, customers really don't forget! I run this mower at 3/4 throttle as a posed to running my old b&g at full all the time.
Final thought, buy from a reputable dealer or one you like. I hear husqavarna has great customer service on warranty and part replacement but you have to get through the dealer connection which can lead to many positives while either waiting on parts or warranty work. Being a good customer means good service!

very well built
I bought this rider last week and I love it the power of the 27hp b/s motor is top notch it doesn't even think about bogging down in tall grass, being this is my first mower with hydrostatic drive I cant complain the tight turning radius is superb its almost like a zero turn....now I do have one complaint the gas gauge is ridiculous at least put a fuel gauge on the dash like the amp and hour meter gauge....the locking differential should be on ALL
of husky tractors......for those of that complain about B/S engines well I'm here to tell you I have
2 tractors with B/S engines a 1988 hechinger 14hp horizontal twin that still runs to date no smoking or knocking..a 2002 bolens 20hp v twin inteck with over 2000 hours and it still runs to
date no smoking or knocking and now my 27 hp endurance. ....so guys maintenance is key!!!
