I agree with Jimmy; great tractor poor deck
I totally agree with Jimmy . I will add that the gauge wheels are not strong enough.

Great value, but....
I've had my GT52XLS over a year now on around 3 bumpy acres, and what I like about it are the engine, value, transmission, and the deck. My gripes are the chassis seems to flex quite a bit, which leaves lines cut into uneven terrain. Everything is balanced and level, so the cut looks great on the smoother parts of the yard, but the unevenness is much more pronounced than on my neighbors x500. Granted, I previously used a 48" track 48" mower which didn't have the issues, I didn't think an extra 4" would do that.
It also used to rattle very loudly, I've found to pry back the heat shield a bit from where it was touching solved it nicely. For better steering, raise the pressure a bit in the front tires, then check your deck level again, etc. Also, even though I have a leveling gauge and move the deck up and down in between adjustments, it still seems to take some luck.
Other than the few problems and occasional cut quality issues, I'm very happy with the orange mower. Is the x500 green mower overall nicer and steers easily? Heck yes! but it only cuts marginally better at the moment.

Better than a Deere
I was considering the 500 series Deere, but when I looked at the fact that I could buy two of these Husqvarna's and still have money left over I tried the Husqvarna instead of the Deere. I was not disappointed. This mower has tons of power and a very powerful transmission. The Kawasaki engine is very quiet compared to my old Craftsman which had a Kohler. I am also very pleased with the cut. I know I will get many happy years out of this garden tractor.

I bought the GT52XlS tractor brand new with the baggier system. I know the tractor was reliable, but I was questionable about the baggier system. The 3 times that I used the tractor to cut the grass is was little wet "I'm not talking soaking wet" the baggier would get clogged up. After my 3rd cut the belt broke on the baggier system. For $840 I would think that the system would be pristine. I use to landscaped and have used many machines even in the rain when we were backed up, so I know how wet is too wet. Because of the second system with the baggier it tends to get clogged easily. I hope they come up with a solution for this problem.

Good engine, not so good cut
I'm torn because I want to love this tractor. Has a great engine, rides nice, and is powerful. While I will agree the fab deck will take a beating, the cut quality is terrible. I've tried everything from making sure tire pressure is good, deck is level, changed blades, bought a mulch kit with blades, and still can not get a nice even cut. I even jack up the mower and wash the deck clean so to start fresh every time I cut. The first few passes are great. Once any grass gets built up in the deck the cut quality suffers immensely. I have 1.5 acres to mow. For how much I spent it is very frustrating. My solution is to have them replace the fab deck with a stamped deck in hopes of better air flow, thus a better cut.

What are you waiting for?
I replaced a 2005 Z-Force 50 Cub Cadet that was considerably more expensive than this unit, and no where near as rugged. It was a great mower for the first two seasons and then it was one thing after another until it finally gave up the ghost this past weekend. I had already been researching mowers for a replacement and had settled on Husqvarna. I had looked at a lower end model at Lowes and it would have been OK, but I didn't want another stamped deck. I was getting some parts at a local auto store and the GT52XLS immediately caught my eye with the fabricated deck and the Kawasaki motor. When the Cub died I called the store and withing a couple hours I was mowing with it. All I can say is "WOW"!!!! This mower did not disappoint.
It is fast, cuts excellent and handles fantastic. I love this mower and if the last mower lasted 9 years, this one should last 20+ years. I rated durability as a three only because I just got the mower and it wouldn't be honest to rate it any higher at this point, but I'm betting it will be a 5. Ergonomics are good overall, but I am rating at a 4 because as a 6 foot tall guy it is a little tight when dismounting. I have no other complaints and this is really a small.
So go get one, you will absolutely not be disappointed.

my JD went out pasture last spring. This got me looking for another main mower. After checking out several brands the Husky topped the list for features, reviews and I was impressed with my local dealer near Saxton PA. It has been a pleasure to mow with my husky this summer. Now sitting in the winter resting place , I look forward to spring and back to mowing. My other tractor is a S=16 Ariens that is soon to be 41 years old. I believe my husky will one day will celebrate 40 plus years with my sons.
