So far, so good
The $40 discharge cover broke after 9 hours, but I know how easy that is to do now. Otherwise, this tractor has been great so far. Replacing a 15HP, 42" tractor on a 4.5-acre lawn, the extra 8" and added power cut a full hour off my 4.5-hour mowing. I don't think I got the best price on it, and I still have only 15 hours on it, but so far, I really like it. Love the setting that allows me to cut in reverse -- that saves a lot of time considering the amount of time you have to maneuver on a lawn this size.

diamond in the rough gt48xls 30HRS
The good: bang for buck.h/d drive system.diff lock. deck construction. motor is smooth & gutsy.components look
well constructed. paint and finish. heavy deck & fuel tank give this mower a better (lower)center of gravity(for hill side mowing) handles hills and around barn or rough, true grit . ATTENTION tech/ engineers :Do you want to make it better & still meet price point ? You should . The bad: linkage rattle spoils fun. The ergos: reverse pedal very awkward (look at jd x304 pedal) just saying. deck lever violates me on exit and on the side of mower used to mow close will hang fence post, shrubs & low limbs on small trees, especialy on slopes. should be on right side! deck spindle cover on rh side will not allow max height adjustment.(modify floor pan) or offer dealer removal of top accessory pulley (how many users will ever use it) and use lower shield off of zeroturn. dont spill gas on deck height numbers . The ugly : Did quality control catch these things and look away? show this machine a little love and they will come. ps Manual & website does not show mulch gator blade & cap part numbers. I need numbers. I leaf mulch only. would like to see picture of blades and cover) customer service gave me part numbers for the stamp deck after giving model info & it should be in owners manual. website still says pedal operated diffy lock (its on dash rocker switch and illustrate on website)
this is not a rant. its purpose is constructive.
would i buy again? yes Does it need improvement? yes
to make a product better you have to see the wrong. i think this product has a niche in market .tweak it
gt48xls bought 4-2013 with 30 hours

Nice powerful lawnmower inexpensive and uncomfortable to use, the seat feels like your going to wobble off the machine at every bump or slope.

First tractor purchase
This is the first tractor I have purchased and used so I am sure my opinions are a little limited.
Overall I am very happy with the tractor, it is powerful and cuts well. I have a lot of hills on my property and it goes up them on grass or dirt with no issue. It seems to do just fine without the locking diff engaged buy on occasion in the wet I have turned it on and boy does it go.
Couple of things I did notice but pretty much minor details. The seat is a little slippy so you need to wear non slippy clothing or you slide about a lot on hills and over bumps.
If you have the locking diff on and you turn fast it will chew up the ground pretty good so take it slow (could be a rookie mistake of mine).
I am shorter (5'6") so with the seat almost all the way forward it is a little difficult to slide your way onto the seat without banging your leg against the parking break.
The cutting height is 4 inches (approx) in the manual but the deck lever only goes to 3.5 so not sure if I am missing something or a printing error.
The reverse is ridiculously hard to push down to use and you have to get your foot just in the right place (safety feature no doubt)so I have found it much easier just to use my heel on the forward pedal and pull back since they are joined(this is not a recommendation just an observation).
I have not had to do any maintenance on it yet so I cannot comment but it looks pretty easy to work on.
I did do a lot of research before I purchase it and for the price it seems like a good deal so I am happy and would recommend it.

Garden tractor and bagger
I really like the rear bagger kit for this garden tractor. It required no tools to install and the bags are of a smaller size and it is easier to remove and empty them. I appreciate that as I am a lot older now than when I last had a triple full size bagger. Also, the deck seems to be more durable than most garden tractors at this price.

Does what it is suppose to do
Haven't had my GT48XLS a month yet, but it is MUCH better than I thought it would be. Done a lot of research before buying. This tractor has the Tuff Torq K66 transmission with electric locking differential and when locked in climbs a hill like you would not believe. Tires need extra weight when used on a hill at 15 degrees. The cut is as good as you can get and the Briggs is quite and strong. Very good value for the money and seems to be well made. Would recommend this tractor to anyone.

Thank you for making a great tractor!
Just changed the oil for the 4th time. greased for the 5th time. I have had a GTH27V48 tractor for a year and a half. I cut 4 acres every week and have 170 hrs on my Husq. It have never failed to start and has more than enough power. I wanted the Kawasaki motor but I would have had to wait 2 months for it and I needed it sooner. Great tractor! Great price! Better axle than a John Deer. Do your homework and you will see you can't beat a Husqvana tractor. I spent 2 years comparing tractors and with Husq. you are not paying for a name or a green color your paying for a tool that will work for you as hard as you want to work it! Enough said out side of thank you Husqvarnza for a great tractor.
