HUSQVARNA FAST TRACTOR™ YTH24K48
Tremendous value at this price!
After getting tired of having the landscapers leave tire spin marks all over my lawn, I decided to jump back on the rider and started my research late winter.
After much much research and visiting various dealers, I had settled on the Husky. I got close to pulling the trigger on the fabricated deck, but realized the reinforced deck would do the trick.
Overall, I am very happy with the machine. A few minor drawbacks, but acceptable in my book at this price-point: 1. The cut is solid, however, it can't go fast and maintain its high quality cut, at least not in my thick back yard. The feel of the machine is more of quality vs. entry level, although you can't compare it to a machine that's twice the cost.
I would absolutely rec this rider as the cream of the crop versus the competition considering size, engine, and price point.

I have other Husqvarna products but this one apparently was a dud.It ran rough from day one.I thought it might need a break in period but it got worse the longer that I kept it.
It was cutting out ,especially when climbing a hill.It was running super rich on the fuel and likely had carburetor issues or the choke was sticking.
The back tires are small and tend to spin out on any hills.I would have kept this mower if it ran smoothly but I wasn't paying that kind of price for the engine running issues.
On the positive side, the seat is comfortable,it cuts in almost as close as my ZTR does and the deck is solid.
I sent it back for a refund.

A little overpriced.
This mower is a little overpriced when looking at what you can get for five hundred dollars more. Has plenty of power and will cut grass. What is does not do well is cut smoothly. With only 40 hours on this macine I will have to replace the deck wheels because I have to use them to get a less then decent cut on any area in my yard that is slopey. On the smooth areas it leaves a blade trail, even with new blades. I have spent numerous hours trying to get it to cut smoothly by adjusting the deck. I followed the factory directions for leveling the deck and was amazed that I could not get a good mow out of it. It seems like the deck weight is not balanced left to right. Anyway, long story short, if you want to just cut grass down it is OK. If you want a decent mow, look at some other machine. It replaced a yellow and green that cut as good as it does. I guess I have to live with it for a few years until I buy something else.

Our mower has been going strong for a month now but whenever I flipped on the light switch the battery instantly died and I had to replace it. It does this every time.

After cutting down some more trees and expanding my lawn quite a bit, I decided to break down and buy a riding lawn mower. I have probably an acre of grass with many hills. It boiled down to the Husq and John Deere for me but after comparing all the features of this one to a comparable Deere, I pulled the trigger on the YTH24K48. I think it cost less and had more features.
I really like this tractor. I've used it all summer. The power is great, it's a smooth ride. It mows nice and evenly. It's great on gas and it looks awesome to boot. The negatives I have are 1. Whoever thought of the oil drain location should be fired. The manual says there is suppose to be some kind of an extender which you connect a clear length of hose to but mine did not come with that extender (it did, however, come with the clear hose#. Changing the oil is a major pain. Oil gets everywhere. 2. When I greased all the grease fittings I found that there was no grease in any of them. I must have pumped an entire tube into four grease fittings. I would think that the factory would grease them before shipping. 3. My last complaint is that it's very easy to get trapped grass clippings on top of the mower deck and difficult to clean. All the shrouds and complex geometry of the deck make for a lot of catch areas. It's not a big deal but it does take a while to clean.
I really like the turning radius. I am glad I didn't buy a zero turn tractor #I was considering one). This one turns so well I don't think it would have been worth the extra money for a zero turn.
Mine came fully assembled from Lowe's. All I had to do was level the deck which was very simple.
Would I buy this again if it were stole? Yep. It's just a great lawn mower and I am very pleased.

No regrets with making this purchase
One fantastic piece of equipment. I had been looking for a great deal for a couple of years and I stumbled across this one. My review is much like all the other positive ones in that dollar for dollar this tractor is the best value and an outstanding product for the money.
All the hype is true. I had owned a Craftsman for 20 years that had provided excellent service and I was concerned about finding a satisfactory replacement and this model of Husqvarna has exceeded my expectations. I have no regrets with making this purchase.

Cuts great. Forward power is excellent. Reverse power greatly lacks!

Looks good, but broke down after 19 hours of use. Idler pulley seized up and ruined motion drive belt.
