Best small garden tiller for the money
I live in Florida and have a garden 40 x 20 and it was great to break ground with the FT900. Our soil in not just sand but when you get down it was rock earth. It's a compressed form of hundreds of years of swamp debris that had to be broken up. This FT900 went through it like butter. I've dug up my whole yard and am putting down new sod. I love my FT900 and am so happy to have it. I've not had a single problem with it and it is in work every weekend turning up my compost pile and prepping dirt for the garden. Thank you Husqvarna for making this affordable and so powerful.

This product is a resonable value for the money.
The machine is of a reasonable design. A throttle control on the handles would be advantageous, but is not overridingly needed. The drag bar retainer is a joke, but is easily overcome with a bungee cord (design engineer should have to use what he designs).

I'm very pleased with the front tine tiller. It preformed very well on new untilled areas I was doing to expand my garden bed. Very easy to use and maneuver. I wish the wheels were metal with rubber tires, I'm concerened about the durability of the plastic ones it has.

Power and tilling preformance but not quailty
Tills very well with limited jerking but reverse does not function well unless you raise the tines from the soil and then reverse drive the unit. I wish they had not changed the handle design from the single pole to two smaller diameter handles not as strong and quite a pain to assemble. Other issue was loose fasteners quite a few of them, if you buy check all bolts before operating. The reverse belt was mounted with a half twist so these units must not be tested prior to shipping or it would have tore up the belt and been corrected. My last Husky was bought in 1985 and lasted till this month, No Issues with older made products when quality was #1. One last Issue I can not find a tech help number on their web site as they do not have tech support. Customer service referred me to a local repair center and they were not very versed on the tillers. All and all it does till well.

GOOD MACHINE BUT>>>>>>update
Bought this machine last year and used it in spring and fall and found it did a good job. MY only complaint is there is no throttle control on handle very difficult to use, but I added a throttle control to handle, much better. next problem is the clutch levers,BAD design, the handles should be turned over, on the bottom. The reverse lever when tilling and machine bounces around will do some serious harm. No cost to fix remove clip in pin and turn handle over. no cost involved. Several other reviewers had the same comment..CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW????? Also the wheel support needs a bolt between the legs through exisisting holes to keep wheels from spreading out. After modifications were made the machine works good..The "engineers" that design these machines should have to read these reviews AND...USE THEM!!!!!! I guarantee it will make a better product.

My new Husqvarna tiller is everything I expected and more. My first use was to prepare my garden for planting. I have owned other brands of tiller before, and there is no comparison in ease of use and power. I definitely will recommend this product to others.

good small tiller
I wanted a small rear tine tiller that was reliable and solid. This one fits the bill. Because it is narrow, it has some handling issues, but nothing that can't be dealt with. A great improvement over my old front tine tiller.

Budget price, great performance!
After buying a new house, the budget needed a break, but I still needed a tiller. So I researched and found good reviews of the FT900. It has lived up to my expectations so far. This is Maine. Tight, compact, rocky soil. My first bed was 20' x 50' and I did it in two stages. First time to about 4" which was a little bit of a wrestling match. Used Husqvarna suggestion of alternate rows to keep the tiller from pulling you into the neighboring row. Then came back through at 10". If it hit a small rock, no issue. A medium rock, it chewed it up. The only rocks that stopped it were 10" diameter ones. Now that the hard work is done and the big rocks gone, this unit moves easily and the reverse backs me out of corners. The only issue was Lowe's delivered it without the manual or any setup instructions and NEVER followed through. The Husqvarna site however made finding my manual and downloading it a snap. There's even a mobile web site for me to get it on my Kindle Fire. For my half-acre garden it's all I need.
