great saw I have a 350 18" which I love great for avg tree cutting. I bought this because I got some free oak huge pieces 2 ft across that the 350 was struggling with and I didnt want to beat it up. let me tell you this 460 bad boy cuts the pieces like its a tree branch. I love it. to give you and idea of the size of this tree, I got 9 cords from it. I still use my 350 must of the time because its lighter and the smaller stuff it cuts fast. March 12, 2014
HUSQVARNA 460 Rancher Have owned the HUSQVARNA 460 Rancher for a couple of months and have had the opportunity to fell a dozen trees and cut up for firewood. This saw runs like a champ. Its comfortable, fuel efficient, and has NO quit! Great saw that I highly recommend! February 9, 2014
Just Bought New Had to work on it already Just bought this saw and had not used it 1 hour and the chain brake mechanism seized up. Had to take it apart and repair. No problem though. Its a very good running saw otherwise. January 26, 2014
Ranger 460 Had the saw back to the dealer twice. Still won't idle! cut a log, die, cut a log, die. January 12, 2014
Good firewood saw I cut firewood for a living and used to run the 455 rancher. Good saw, but not powerful enough. Got the 460 for Christmas 2012 and since then I cut around 40-50 cords of wood. It came with a 24 inch bar and that's too long for cutting pinion pine. Put a 20 inch on it and it ran good. Gets about 3 tanks to a cord and cuts good when chain is sharp. Only complaint is that the bar cover is built so that all the sawdust builds up in it and needs cleaned every cord or so. It's not like the XP's. Had no problems whatsoever with the saw until it jumped ship on the way to the cut site, but expected it to last for a long time. Recently bought the 576xp to replace. Will review at a later date December 12, 2013
Great saw I use it to thin out the sides of our roads. Put a skip tooth chain on it and never looked back. Long as it is sharp chews thru the Ponderosa Pine. 4-5 pulls when cold, one half hearted one when warm. Other than the bar oil leak have 0 complaints about the great saw. Talked to a fellow that repairs saws, told me how to fix the leak so.....Have ran 10 gallons of premix thru, still has the original plug.... December 9, 2013
extraordinary machine Reliable, excellent performance, extraordinary customer service. The chainsaw was taken to a farm in Turrialba, Costa Rica and Vedova & Obando are the local representatives. I am very impressed with the customer support and service. December 7, 2013
This saw is a beast I bought this saw to upgrade from my 25 year old Stihl 026 , and I must say what a difference ! I know I'm not compairing apples to apples , the Husqvarna is a much bigger saw but it is much more user friendly , it cuts silky smooth hardly any vibration if any and very easy to start 2 pulls at the most and it's running ! I tested it out on a couple of big oak blow downs from a storm and it cut through them with little to no effort . The only issue I have is the way the bar oiling system is , the oil tank is non vented and and it builds a little pressure in the tank from heat expansion which causes the oil to seep past the pump and leak a little , which is nothing that would keep me from reccomending this saw November 25, 2013
