HUSQVARNA 460 Rancher
460 rancher saw
My son and I have been using chain saws for many years now cutting down large trees to clear the property for the house and yard, and by far this Husqvarna 460 Rancher chain saw has "out preformed " all the other brand of chainsaws I have used over the last 18 years,Hands down! It has downed the biggest tree 3 feet in diameter to the smallest 8 inches in diameter with no problems. It is easy to handle and stays sharp a lot longer then most other chain saws I have used. We use it to cut up the downed trees for fire wood and gain it does a great job we very little effort, it just about does all the work its self. IF ANYONE WANT A GREAT CHAINSAW , GET THE HUSQVARNA 460 RANCHER

One Quality Machine
The first outing with this saw was to cut 3 oaks of well over 24" diameter that were all in excess of 60 ft in heght. The tough construction of this saw, the use of metal instead of plastics, the ability to lube the sprocket tip, the closed air filtration system and the comfort of this saws use made impressively short work of the task. The saw's design allows easy turning of the bar and the quality of the constuction make this the best saw on the market. The saws anti-vibration features make it's use much more pleasant and much less tiring than other designs. This is one tough, top of the line tool for serious use but is also suited to occasional use by the everyday homeowner also.

You get what you pay for, and then some.
Have gone through a couple "Low Priced" 16" and 18" saws from SEARS and HOME DEPOT and tired of them dying after 2 years. Stupid California Emisions package meant 125 hrs and toss. I remember the Late Paul Harvey advertizing for Husqvarna and my Google search began. I wanted something with some cutting capacity so a 20" or 24" bar was what I was looking for. I read many reviews on different models and which one was the best value for the money. Several people said to get the Rancher 460 w/24" bar and they were right. Found mine online at a price I couldn't refuse. I ordered additional Husqvarna parts and accessories with my saw. After I got it in, I went to Tractor Supply and got more Genuine Husqvarna oil, gloves and files to maintain my saw. I cut a 36" Pecan Trunk in two with it on its first use. The next time out I did some tree trimming to clear a path for the refuse truck to pick up the trash across the road. Yeah, 12 pounds of saw is heavy working off a 6 FT. step ladder but the saw was perfectly balanced and easy to handle and manuver. The power was perfect and sliced through 4" and 5" ceder branches like butter. I had zero kickback also. Pro saw at a consumer price.

Great saw for the average user.
This saw starts on the third stroke every time. I must have cut 8 to 10 cords in the two years that I have had the saw. Both oak and pine, mostly oak. I have had to change the bar but other than regular maintenance, no problems.

The biggest little chainsaw
Owning a rancher makes takes the work out of cutting up larger tree trunks. It has plenty of power, yet it is light enough to not make you get tired og wielding the chainsaw. A great buy for the price.
