HUSQVARNA 460 Rancher 4.7 5 202 202
New Saw It's my second saw, my first "real" saw. I use it cutting firewood around Fairbanks, AK. Cutting large logs, tree trunks before would be a several minute event. With this saw, the cut lasts less than 30 seconds, and the safety factor is greatly increased due to using the right tool for the right job. April 14, 2011
Good medium duty saw Have only got about 4+ hours runtime on this saw so far but all seems very good so far. The reason I downgraded the ergonomics was because of the placement and light touch of the kill switch - I hit it quite often while cutting with gloves on and kills the saw, especially while limbing a felled tree, very irritating. I'm very impressed with the chain so far too, only had to retension it once in the 3 - 4 hours I've used it and I've been cutting some large hickory & oak trees for firewood, lots of solid cutting. I like the adjustable oil flow. This is my first Husky saw and with my limited use so far I'd definitely recommend it. April 14, 2011
460 rancher saw My son and I have been using chain saws for many years now cutting down large trees to clear the property for the house and yard, and by far this Husqvarna 460 Rancher chain saw has "out preformed " all the other brand of chainsaws I have used over the last 18 years,Hands down! It has downed the biggest tree 3 feet in diameter to the smallest 8 inches in diameter with no problems. It is easy to handle and stays sharp a lot longer then most other chain saws I have used. We use it to cut up the downed trees for fire wood and gain it does a great job we very little effort, it just about does all the work its self. IF ANYONE WANT A GREAT CHAINSAW , GET THE HUSQVARNA 460 RANCHER April 14, 2011
One Quality Machine The first outing with this saw was to cut 3 oaks of well over 24" diameter that were all in excess of 60 ft in heght. The tough construction of this saw, the use of metal instead of plastics, the ability to lube the sprocket tip, the closed air filtration system and the comfort of this saws use made impressively short work of the task. The saw's design allows easy turning of the bar and the quality of the constuction make this the best saw on the market. The saws anti-vibration features make it's use much more pleasant and much less tiring than other designs. This is one tough, top of the line tool for serious use but is also suited to occasional use by the everyday homeowner also. April 14, 2011
460 rancher this is a really good saw i am cutting a'lot of timber 34 inches across and having no issues with not having enough power. I will get another one of these saws when i can. April 14, 2011
Man's saw Have used for 3 years. Cranks first pull. Only thing have to stop for is gas, oil and change chains. While handle tough trees with ease. April 13, 2011
You get what you pay for, and then some. Have gone through a couple "Low Priced" 16" and 18" saws from SEARS and HOME DEPOT and tired of them dying after 2 years. Stupid California Emisions package meant 125 hrs and toss. I remember the Late Paul Harvey advertizing for Husqvarna and my Google search began. I wanted something with some cutting capacity so a 20" or 24" bar was what I was looking for. I read many reviews on different models and which one was the best value for the money. Several people said to get the Rancher 460 w/24" bar and they were right. Found mine online at a price I couldn't refuse. I ordered additional Husqvarna parts and accessories with my saw. After I got it in, I went to Tractor Supply and got more Genuine Husqvarna oil, gloves and files to maintain my saw. I cut a 36" Pecan Trunk in two with it on its first use. The next time out I did some tree trimming to clear a path for the refuse truck to pick up the trash across the road. Yeah, 12 pounds of saw is heavy working off a 6 FT. step ladder but the saw was perfectly balanced and easy to handle and manuver. The power was perfect and sliced through 4" and 5" ceder branches like butter. I had zero kickback also. Pro saw at a consumer price. April 3, 2011
Great Saw for price I bought it to compliment my 450 and does the job well takes a quite few tanks of fuel to get it broke in. the same for the 450(love the 450 for the price) March 25, 2011
