455 Rancher This is a good chainsaw. It's light weight, easy to start, and cuts good, and is quit. I would recommen it to anybody. February 24, 2011
Rancher 455 Love it. Have an outdoor wood boiler, and this saw keeps the wood coming in..... February 24, 2011
My saw is my friend !!! All to often when planning a day of cutting firewood, when trying to use a lesser product, I found myself doing tailgate repairs throughout the day. Since the purchase of my Husqvarna 455, that has changed. This saw has required fuel, bar oil, the cleaning of the air filter, and the adjusting of the chain. Period . There is NOTHING bad about this saw!!! February 24, 2011
Good saw for the money I use my saw fairly heavily throughout the fall and winter months cutting firewood, mostly various types of oak, ash, hickory and elm. The 455 Rancher has plenty of power and durability when maintained properly. I like the saw and I own two of them. February 24, 2011
Good Value for a powerful saw Nice saw for a mid ranged price. With a new chain this will put a pile of saw dust on the ground in a hurry. Great saw for "heating the house". February 24, 2011
Excellent Chain Saw This chainsaw cuts thru wood like butter. When cutting with other people they are amazed at the speed at which it tackles even the 40" logs.Mine has a 20" bar and chain and is an excellent choice for land owners who cut their own wood.I have cut over 40 face cords with it and it still looks and performs like new. Love my saw Starts well, and performs. Will look at other products in the Husqvarna line. Works best to "choke" it to stop as it restarts better. February 24, 2011
Powerful, easy starting machine My Husqvarna 455 Rancher is a powerful easy starting machine. After reading the specifications and reviews and talking with owners and outdoor power equipment dealers I decided on the 455 Rancher and I'm very pleased that I did even though some previous Husqvarna owners and sales people weren't enthusiastic about them. I find mine to start very easily every time with very full pulls from a cold start. Once it's warmed up it usually starts on the first pull. I cut a mix of hard and soft wood with a 16" bar and the saw has more power than I need and has never bogged down in any position that I operate it. The physical size and shape gives me a steady feel when I operate the saw. The space in the handle is a little small for me to put my work boot in for starting, but I can at least get the toe of the boot in to securely hold the saw to the ground for starting. The owner's manual is easy to understand and I reread it each year before the first time I operate the saw. The compression release valve makes starting easier than saws without the valve. The start/stop switch and choke control are conveniently located. There aren't any full-line Husqvarna dealers in my area so it might be difficult to get service if the saw develops problems. Overall the saw was an excellent purchase for me and I'm extremely pleased with it. February 24, 2011
