455 A Great Chainsaw My 455 is a very impressive saw. With the new primer bulb it starts very easy, within the first couple of pulls, even in the dead of winter. The power of the saw is incredible. It pulls into the log and I don't need to aplly force at all, the saw does all the work. Of the saws I own the 455 is my favorite. February 24, 2011
Hard to Start This chainsaw runs very well after I finally get it started. February 24, 2011
More cutting for the buck I have downed and bucked 50+ trees ranging from 3"-24" fir, oak, maple, walnut, etc. In temps from 10 deg to 100 deg. and never had an issue. It starts easy, does take it a couple minutes to really warm up after sitting for a few days but once it is warm it will keep going. It can handle the big jobs like a 40" seasoned oak not as well as a bigger pro series will but it can do it unlike other saws I have tried. The oil tank tops off really quick once it is at the 3/4 mark and can be a little messy. It might not quite meet loggers standards, but, if you do a lot of cutting during the year with some bigger jobs around the house/ farm/ ranch, take a good look at this saw it is very worth it and save a few bucks. and to be completely honest.A husky was the first saw I ever used ( a Rancher) ~20yrs ago and since then I have used several different saws and when time came to buy a saw for use on the property I went back to the best I have used. Great saw Bought a 455 Rancher a while back and was very pleased. Unlike many other small engines I have experience with, the husky starts easily and runs great with plenty of power. The only drawback would be its weight, a bit on the hefty side. All and all a great product, I would recommend Husky saws to anyone. February 24, 2011
This product is very dependable The ease of use from the rancher is undefinable. At first I was concerned that it would be too bulky. Even with the smallest of jobs the saw worked flawlessly. I would recommend this product to any level of user, from felling trees, to limbing up smaller branches the rancher completes the job. February 24, 2011
Excellent performance. This saw starts easy and cuts through just about anything you can throw at it. My dad has a hard time using it due to it's weight so just be aware of the heft of this model. I have no trouble with the saw personally and just bought my dad a smaller one to use when we're out in the woods. The saw is pretty efficient given the power output. The biggest complaint I have for the saw is the chain. It does seem to dull and subsequently wear out fairly quickly compared to saws I've used before. February 24, 2011
easy to use My 455 Rancher is very easy to use. It starts with one or two pulls, and has plenty of power to get through the hardest wood, and is delicate enough to just do some trimming. I would recommend it to anyone. February 24, 2011
Excellent saw/great price Great saw, it has lots of power and will cut through large trees with ease. The saw is a little heavy but is well ballanced and handels very well. The only issue with this saw is the drive gear for the oil pump is made of a sythetic material and will strip with heat/time. February 24, 2011
