Husqvarna 450 Rancher
I feel like a LumberJack, not a Rancher.
By far the, I don't exaggerate, the BEST Chain Saw I ever touched. I have had Sears, STIHL brand chain saws, all fall short of any mark. Husqvana 450 Rancher made small work any wood i put in front of it, from limbs to 8" Maple branches. A superior product indeed!!! Never going back.

Great saw for the money
I recently purchased this saw with a 20 inch bar to cut up a ton of felled trees on a house site for firewood. so far ive ran about 4 gallons of gas through it. The saw cold starts in 2 pulls and runs great. ive limbed and cut a mix of hard and soft woods, and with a sharp chain, the saw burns right through anything you put in front of it. i even cut massive double stump approx 20" by 36" and it didnt miss a beat. of course a bigger saw may have cut through it a little faster but for the price and the work you can do with it. I think youd have a hard time beating this one.

Bought a factory reconditioned saw. Cut down 2 large trees. Having the 20" blade made the job easy. Plenty of power. Quick and easy starting. A great value for the money and thr perfect saw for cutting firewood.

Husqvarna 450 Rancher
The minimal vibration allowed me to cut for 2 hours without my hands feeling tired!! It is a great product so far.

I bought this saw because I had owned Husqvarna saws in the past and had no problems. I purchased this saw, used the premix fuel, it ran for 10 minutes I shut the saw off and it would not restart. So I took it back, the guys at Lowes told me it may need a carburetor adjustment, I figured I would give the model another chance so I got a brand new one. This saw ran for 20 minutes and then could not get it restarted. I will never buy another Husqvarna product. My confidence in the company manufacturing quality products is shot. I got a refund for the saw and will be buying a Stihl.

So for...not so good.
Cut down 1 tree. Before the tree was 1/2 cut up I had to put the saw in the shop because the oiler wasn't working properly. When I picked up my saw the man at the shop commented on how dull the blade was. I bought a file today. I'm hoping that I can get the blade sharp enough to finish cutting up the tree. I'm not all that pleased with my saw so far.

what makes it quit?
We have only used it 4 or 5 times, but at some point, it just quits running and won't re-start. We don't use it heavily, and fortunately, we have a back-up of a different brand. We bought it out of necessity, while the other much older chain saw was in the shop and we needed to get our winter wood supply started, as that is our primary source of heat. I thought it would be large enough and heavy-duty enough to carry the load, but I can see that it will soon be relegated to back-up role. A huge disappointment for the money spent.
