HUSQVARNA 450 e-series
a great chainsaw, an awful user's manual
I've had this saw for about 2 weeks. The cutting power and ergonomics of the Husqvarna are outstanding. I would have rated it 5 stars overall for its performance. However, the manual is very unhelpful. For example, assembly of the saw blade bar and chain are required. The procedure for this is found in the manual. What is not clear in the manual is that should you mistakenly engage the locking mechanism, it is virtually impossible to reattach the cover on the body of the saw. I had to transport it to a dealer 30 miles away. While the manual did enumerate the correct procedure, the mistake I made was critical. It should have been written in large type face and in bold.
Another example is that the starting procedure, while only 6 steps is clear enough, if you mistakenly try to get the saw started with the choke enabled (can happen to a novice), it will flood and will not start for an extended period of time. Mine needed 24 hours before I could get it going. A manual should recognize that certain errors (user caused) can create difficulties that will frustrate the new user and user error possibilities should be addressed prominently in the manual.

so far so good
The 450e chainsaw is pretty much everything I'd expect from Husqarna, power, durablity, quality construction.

Good all around saw
I wanted a saw for what I knew would be infrequent use after buying my first home. I learned from cutting with my dad that it never hurts to over-buy just a bit on saws. The 450 E can chew up anything I throw at it and be ready in case one of the big trees goes down. Plenty of power, love the vibration dampeners, sounds like a hot rod, starts easily, and is easy to adjust the chain or pull the bar off. This is my first saw so not sure on chain life, does seem to get dull pretty quickly. Trying to follow the fuel-up and sharpen routine. If I take care of it, this saw will last me a long time.

Great chain saw
Lot of power and lite weight. very nice cutting saw. Dislike about saw is the one bolt to hold blade. I feel saws with two bolt are more heavy duty.

first of all it was easy to start and restart not like my sears 18 in had to talk to customer service twice about the saw and the wait time was about 2min and the personal was great and had the knowledge about the questions i ask which end up being me not reading the manual all the way .

Great saw to get the job done!
This is one working saw. I own another very popular brand of saw. This one so far is my go to saw now. East start, light weight, easy to maintain. After each use, I will break it down (just removing the bar and chain) and use a air compressor to clean it up so it is ready to go the next time I need it. I deal mainly with oak trees, and it will tear them up.

450 is a Rocket Ship.
I have owned previous brands. Finally, I decided to try a new medium range saw to cut approx 4 cord per year. This saw is very durable and awesome power to weight ratio!
Hands down one of the best saws on the market for the value.
Now back to the Sugar Maple and Ash cutting! Keeping the wood stove glowing in northern Michigan.

This is my second chainsaw. It starts right up and the controls are easy to use ,especially the chain tensioner. I was going to buy an Echo because the 5 year warranty but heard alot of unhappy people b/c their customer service or lack there of. I laso entertained Sthil but went with Husqvarna because of the additional year of warranty.Time will tell if its a well made product.
