HUSQVARNA 445 4.7 5 359 359
Great yard saw The 445 was my "first saw" that wasn't a hand me down. The saw is always ready to go and fires up in the first couple of pulls. I have never had a problem with my 445. Breakdown and cleaning is easy and quick as i like to clean my saw after every use. Most jobs around our property are 10" or less bucking up small downed trees. We had a 100 year oak drop in the neighborhood and got to push the saw towards the 12” range on hard wood, finally saw some limitations in power and bar size. Overall a great buy for "yard work". Easy to use, plenty of power I am very happy with this Husky! It is my 3rd chainsaw purchased, and by far the best. My first 2 were not Husqvarnas. I though saving a few bucks was more important at the time. I was very wrong. I was looking for something that would last and now I have definately fount it. the 445 is very easy to use, easy to clean and has more than enough power for what I need. It has been a night and day difference from my "starter" saws. Plan to have this saw for the next decade or so. Had the bad windstorm 2 years back, and had no problems clearing half dozen large trees from the neighbors and my yard. Very happy weekend lumberjack! Would recommend this saw to anyone! The Sweedes know their saws! February 23, 2011

My fifth chainsaw This is the fifth chainsaw that I have owned over the past 30 years - 1 craftsman, 1 McCullough 2 stihls, and now the Husqvarna 445. I have owned the 445 for about 18 months. The Stihls were good saws, but the Husqvarna starts easier, idles better, and requires very little maintenance. February 23, 2011
Big Power, Small Package! I was going to start a little firewood buisness for myself so I could earn some extra cash and I needed a saw. I started looking around and figured out that Husqvarna and another brand were the leaders in chainsaws. I started comparing saws that were in my price range from both brands and immidiatly saw that I could get much more "bang for the buck" if I went with Husqvarna. That is when I narrowed my choices down to the 445. It's a midrange saw and it looked like what I needed (not to mention very affordable). I was not too excited because it was sitting next to all those other huge saws, but I went ahead and got it since it was my first saw and I didn't want something too powerful and uncontrolable. When I brought it home and started cutting, I was amazed! even the big logs went like butter. I wasn't very good at sharpening it back then and got one of the file guides made for that saw. It was amazing how sharp it was each time I sharpened the chain. This definitely helped because even though this is a very powerful saw, it does have its limits. But for its size it was fenomenal. That was the other very helpful thing, since I was using it for extended periods of time, I was not fatigued as quick because it was so light weight. Great Job Husqvarna!!! February 23, 2011
a solid tool I guess its only been 2 yrs since I bought this, but it has preformed well for me and with very little maintenance. I've probably cut about 20 cords of wood with it, mostly beetle-killed lodge pole, to heat our house. I've been impressed with how much wood I can usually cut on 1 gallon of mix, usually close to 2 cords. The power of the 445 has been a little light on several occaisions, I should've at least gone with the Rancher 455 i n retrospect, but it is only noticeable when cutting large trees that are close to the diameter of the bar. I would have gone with a 20" bar if I could buy again, but this 445 is more than ample powered for about 90% of the cutting I do. The bar has withstood some serious abuse and still tracks cleanly even after a few trees surprised me and rolled onto the bar in mid cut! I may replace the bar and chain this next woodcutting season, just to keep the saw running smoothly. The saw usually starts after a half dozen pulls when its cold, fewer once it warms up. the body has held up well thus far, the design is lighter and doesn't vibrate your hands off. Overall, this saw is one of my more prized possessions, and we depend on it to keep us warm through the montana winters. One thought I had that would be useful when cutting was if you could integrate a level bubble in the body to help make horizontal cuts more accurately. I mounted a bullseye on mine and although the vibrations make it hard to have a perfect reading, it does serve as an approximate guide. February 23, 2011
445 I am very pleased with my 445 chainsaw. Last year I rented a saw for my wood cutting and decided it would be best to own. I did a lot of research on saws and went with the Husq. brand. I cut 7 cords of wood for supplemental heat this past summer and as a result cut my heating bill in half; saving over 350 dollars. I have never been accused of treating equipment gently. The saw does what it supposed to, period. You can not ask anymore of a product than that. Often when a piece of equipment does what is supposed to unfailingly, one does not praise it. In this case I am inclined to do so because the saw has met and exceded my expectations. On a side note a friend gave me his saw from the other brand because he was having problems with it. I was able to fix it and he gave it to me. Im glad I have the Husq. though. My only request would be to provide an air filter that can be cleaned and reused with the saw. I dont know if the more expensive saws have one or if Husq. does not recomend their use. I found no info that says not to use them. Its nice to be able to clean the filter instead of going to town. Husky 445 I purchased this saw for it's power and weight specs. I do tree removal and trimming as a side work and immediately fell in love with it. This is the best and most comfortable saw I have ever climbed with. It has preformed flawlessley and there is nothing negative to be said about this saw as far as I'm concerned. When I need another saw you can be sure it will be a Husqvarna. February 23, 2011
