HUSQVARNA 440 e-series
Ease of operation
It is easy to start ---every time. The saw was powerful enough to cut easily thru eight inch limbs. Its balance was an asset making it easier to handle without sgetting my arms tired.
My only problem is with the chain oil leaking when not in use. It doesn't matter how or what position you store the saw it still leaks chain fluid.

disappointing. decided to try husky, have always had stihl and will go back to stihl. I bought the 450 with tool less chain tensioner. terrible. poor design. can't saw one log without chain loosening and flipping off. already broke tensioner from constant fussing and overtightened. plastic parts inside but still $100 to fix and I had less than 10 hours on saw. will be returning saw after 1 year and getting saw with regular chain tensioner. or will go back to stihl which never gave me these troubles.

Very good chainsaw
I bought this chainsaw to use at home for miscellaneous tree clearing and yard cleanup. I've used it twice and it performs great. It is however a little difficult to crank because of the awkward positioning you have to use to crank this chainsaw. It runs great after cranking and restarting is easy. Overall it is still very powerful and wonderful to use cutting trees and limbing trees too!

Purchased the 440 saw got it home and took it outta the box. Gased it up oil in it and tried to start it and the pull cord locked up. Called the support and they told me to take it back to the store so I did and was gonna get another one so I checked it before I got it and the cord was the same way. Went up front and told the salesman that all the 440s that u have has bad cords on them. I will not buy another husqvarna saw.

Received this as a Christmas gift. I wish I tried to start it immediately, but waited 3 months. Rope pull is terrible. Feels like the cog inside is a square instead of a circle. Following instructions, it starts fine, but tough to pull. Half way through my first tree, the bar freezes. Motor runs, but chain won't go around. My old Craftsman ran for 12 years without a hitch. I expected better from Husqvarna.

Wanted to love this product
Really wanted to love this product, read many good things about Husqvarna chainsaws and they one of the best. Unfortunately I returned it.
Negatives I found
1. Very difficult to start, people weren't kidding. I can't believe this is considered normal. I had a homelite chainsaw for 10 years and this is really hard to start.
2. Chain keep getting stuck just after a few hours of cutting. Chain would basically jam. I had to mess around with the chain adjusting to get it started. I was already stripping the saw down to get it going, I can't imagine after 5 years.
3. This is a surprise, if you remove the chain cover without taking the brake off, it is almost impossible to get it back on. The manual says take it to a dealer to get the cover back on, really ? This is a very bad design.
i did manage to get the cover on by jamming the cover into where the brake would unlock. Don't unscrew the inside cover as there is a high tension spring.
For a somewhat inexpensive saw, it is probably ok, but I can't see it lasting. Doesn't seem well made or constructed. I think there are design flaws all over.
I did love having and using a husqvarna for the first time, but I think will be going back to homelite. Maybe in the future I will try them again.
I would not recommend buying at least this model.

3 weeks and haven't used it yet
Bought this saw 3 weeks ago and hasn't been started yet. Followed the directions, used some ether both in the carb and in the piston, still nothing, so I called customer support, unfortunately for me it was a Sunday. What kind of global organization can't afford customer support on the weekend? Looks good, feels great, but won't kick on for more than a second. Very disappointed, figured it was a good brand, guess I was wrong. Next weekend it's going back to Lowes and Ill take my money to a better company. To Husqvarna: You will never see another penny from myself or my sons.

Leaks bar oil badly
I love every aspect of my 440e except it leaks bar oil terribly. Every time I remove the scabbard, several table spoons of oil leak out. Had it serviced twice and was told this is normal. Was told to drain bar oil after each use. Can this be right?
