Great product, eventually. After returning the chainsaw to the retailer to properly remove shipping spacers. And check chain brake mechanism, the unit starts great and runs reliably. It's weight and balance is good. November 21, 2013
My third Husqvarna chainsaw I bought the 440 and talk about starting hard! So I took it back and exchanged it for another 440 and the same thing. The saw needs a decompression valve. I thought it was me, but I see others here are having the same problem. November 7, 2013
Used for 2 months, nothing but problems Accidentally ran over my Stihl saw while skidding logs with my tractor. Went to Lowes and purchased Husqvarna 450 Rancher. Ran great for 2 month, Oct/Nov 2012. Then stored away. Bought new bar and chains for it. Couldn't get it started. Finally got it started, cut 1 log and it stalled out. Got it started and chain won't turn. Took saw apart without side cover/tensioner on chain turns fine. Once side cover is on, chain will not turn. Removed the chain brake system. Chain still will not move. What a piece of junk. Real waste of money, wish I could get my money back. Do not buy this product if you rely on wood for heat, you and your family will freeze to death. November 2, 2013
Ease of operation It is easy to start ---every time. The saw was powerful enough to cut easily thru eight inch limbs. Its balance was an asset making it easier to handle without sgetting my arms tired. My only problem is with the chain oil leaking when not in use. It doesn't matter how or what position you store the saw it still leaks chain fluid. October 12, 2013
rob's disappointing. decided to try husky, have always had stihl and will go back to stihl. I bought the 450 with tool less chain tensioner. terrible. poor design. can't saw one log without chain loosening and flipping off. already broke tensioner from constant fussing and overtightened. plastic parts inside but still $100 to fix and I had less than 10 hours on saw. will be returning saw after 1 year and getting saw with regular chain tensioner. or will go back to stihl which never gave me these troubles. Very good chainsaw I bought this chainsaw to use at home for miscellaneous tree clearing and yard cleanup. I've used it twice and it performs great. It is however a little difficult to crank because of the awkward positioning you have to use to crank this chainsaw. It runs great after cranking and restarting is easy. Overall it is still very powerful and wonderful to use cutting trees and limbing trees too! September 26, 2013
Bad luck Purchased the 440 saw got it home and took it outta the box. Gased it up oil in it and tried to start it and the pull cord locked up. Called the support and they told me to take it back to the store so I did and was gonna get another one so I checked it before I got it and the cord was the same way. Went up front and told the salesman that all the 440s that u have has bad cords on them. I will not buy another husqvarna saw. September 12, 2013
somewhat disappointing Received this as a Christmas gift. I wish I tried to start it immediately, but waited 3 months. Rope pull is terrible. Feels like the cog inside is a square instead of a circle. Following instructions, it starts fine, but tough to pull. Half way through my first tree, the bar freezes. Motor runs, but chain won't go around. My old Craftsman ran for 12 years without a hitch. I expected better from Husqvarna. April 5, 2013
