Defective out of the box
I picked up a Husqvarna 240, it wouldn't start due to the stop switch being finicky (no spark). Once it was started I noticed that the bar was not getting oil at all. I had it repaired via warranty, turned out the worm gear and the connection with the worm gear and oil pump was stripped...OUT OF THE BOX. Was a huge hassle, but now I'm all set and the saw has been doing well. Very disappointed with quality control.

The saw runs good but loses power when cutting larger trees.

Great saw for the price
I recently bought a 240 for brushing and cutting smaller timber. Starts easily and has plenty of power for lighter work. Very nice saw.

Hard to start and frequently stops and has to be restarted.
Expected a better product as I researched carefully before deciding on which one to purchase.

Feature Filled Saw
I was looking for a small saw for pruning work, carving bar for building, etc. The 240 has 2 bar retention nuts, spring mounted anti-vibe instead of rubber mounts, and a high chain speed. So, I bought one.
The saw is great. Does everything well. I used a 142 at a former employer and this saw is an improved version. If you are looking for one saw, I would recommend a saw at least 50cc. But, if you are looking for a small saw to run all day pruning softwood limbs in a stand, carve, or have to carry all day clearing trails, the 240 is hard to beat.

Starts easy, runs well, plenty of power for smaller stuff, say up to 6-8 inches. Use it to cut most of my fire wood, for the big jobs I use my 61.

Like the 240 series chain saw
The you tube video is outstanding. It shows you how to put the saw together out of the box. It was easy to start and well balanced when cutting small trees. The you tube presentation is excellent and everyone shoud review before
they use their chain saw. This saw is a quality product and I recommend.

Proper tool for the job
I went to our local power tool store looking for a Stihl chainsaw. The salesman suggested the Husqvarna and proceeded to tell me the differences. Since they sell both brands I figured he had nothing much to gain from selling one over the other. The saw has performed flawlessly and every bit as well as explained. I can't compare it to the new Stihl, but I like it better than the old one I was replacing. I don't use a chainsaw a lot so this one should last me......well, forever. Definitely the right choice.
