My nephew just bought a Husqvarna 240 and brought it over to my place to help cut down some trees. It took him a long time, about 5 minutes, before he could get it to run. While cutting wood, the chain repeatedly cut out and stopped. After each stop, it was a challenge to get the chainsaw restarted. It would not idle on its own. We got less than 30 minutes of work out of it. I advised him to bring it back to the shop and either have the machine adjusted or just return it. We ended up using my older - non-Husqvarna - chain saw for most of the day. His Husqvarna 240 made a poor first impression on both of us.

i purchased this saw on 5/21/09 and have used the saw for
approximately 2 hours. from day one the saw was hard
starting. it was brought to an authorised dealer because it would not start. as of this date the saw was hardly used and

so far so good. seems to be just what i needed. i have removed twenty elms from my back yard and i have had no problems so far.

weak as pond water
this 240 chain saw is without a doubt the poorist saw I have ever purchased. From the very start it has not shown much power. It has been very hard to crank, sometimes impossible.When it does crank it takes several minutes to get it to warm up and it never runs with any power. I bought it at TSC in paris Tn. and I will never buy another saw from them. No help with this saw at all. I carried it up there and they said to call my power plus warranty provider and they said they didn't cover it yet.I called husq. and all I got was a recording saying they were closed.I'm just feed up with the whole thing.I am going to demand my money back plus the cost of fuel for three trips to TSC. My time is just as valuable as their's.

Chainsaw works great when its running. Right out of the box had the hardest time starting the saw, after getting it to start it would not run at idle speed would just stall. After using the saw for a small project the saw would no longer prime and was taken to the dealer for repairs. Had to pay for repairs since the fuel system is not covered under warranty, not good for a saw with less than an hour of run time has an issue and isn't covered under warranty. Now after getting it fixed the saw starts easily and runs great. Husqvarna should work on quality control and making sure saws are operable before leaving factory or at least cover everything under the warranty, I shouldn't have to spend money on a tune up for a saw i just purchased.

I purchased this chainsaw last November and i9t has been in the repair shop twice, the first time because it would not start. After two weeks I got it back with no explanation except, "now it works", no charge. Then as I was cutting up sit stopped and I could not get it started, It's been in the shop about a month now, claims the piston seized and waiting for approval from Husqvarna for a warranty replacement. I probably had only 3 to 4 hours of use on it. If your reading this, Husqvarna, please authorize a replacement machine.

How low can the rating go. For value, the chainsaw has yet to run properly. This was purchased at a major retail DIY chain store. Upon trying to start it, it sounded like there was an air/fuel mixture issue, and it shut off every time the throttle was engaged. No cutting possible! So, the saw was taken to an authorized repair shop, who replaced the spark plug and adjust the air/fuel mixture. It started fine. Upon getting the chain saw home, it has yet to start despite repeated attempts to do so.

Factory reconditioned saw did not work
Received the saw on 4/10/13. I assembled it and used proper gas & oil. It would not start. I took it to 2 authorized service centers and they confirmed it had no spark. I returned the saw and got a refund.
