Refurbished - but oiler doesn't work
I was very excited to purchase my Hasqvarna 240 saw. It seems to be a nice product and of good quality even as a refurbished saw, which was guaranteed to be as good or better than new, however...... It did take some doing to get it started initially, maybe due to being a new saw, but then started OK after initial start. During it's first use it cut well through 6-8" trees. I noticed however, that it did not have the power I was expecting and also that there was no oil on the chain or bar (possibly related). I took it to my service center where it has been for three weeks apparently waiting on parts for the oiler. I have a 90 days warranty of which a third is now gone. I have a 30 day return policy, which is no longer of use for an exchange. Hoping that Hasqvarna is a good enough comapny to make this saw run well eventually and that I will get great service for many years. I still believe it is a good product which is why I purchased it in the first place (things happen). I am also hoping I did not get a lemon and will now have to eat the cost of buying a new saw. I am sure that Hasqvarna will stand by their product. I have heard good things and they are in the process of repairing it through their service center. Maybe should have purchased it new rather than refurbished, but could not pass up the opportunity at the price. Still would buy one again if I needed a good chain saw.

The saw performed as advertised
Out of the box this chainsaw performed well. If you follow the quickstart guide you shouid not have a problem starting the chainsaw. Cutting should be done slowly until you learn how the saw performs.

A HUSQVARNA FAN 4-EVER
I PURCHASED THE HUSQVARNA 240 FOR YARD CLEAN UP AFTER THE OCTOBER SNOW STORM THAT KNOCKED DOWN LOTS OF TREES. THE 240 WAS GREAT, CUT THROUGH TREES UP TO 16" IN DIA. WITH NO PROBLEM. THE 240 IS LIGHT AND HAS DURABILITY THAT HUSQVARNA IS KNOWN FOR. THE SAW IS EASY TO USE AND MAINTAIN. THE CHAIN TIGHTENING SYSTEM IS A SNAP. I WOULD RECOMMEND THE HUSQVARNA 240 TO ANYONE NEEDING A CHAIN SAW FOR HOMEOWNER WORK AROUND THE PROPERTY.

Big Little Saw
I have just purchased a small piece of property and have some light to medium tree work and clearing to perform. We started working on the property two weeks ago and this saw has performed flawlessly. I call it my "Big Little Saw". It works great for removing undergrowth, limbs, and smaller trees. To be honest, I have let the saw "eat" on a few medium sized trees and it really has the power. Starting has never been a problem and I look forward to getting to work each time I take my saw with me. Keep saw clean and maintained when work is done. Great Product.

Great Saw For Price
This has proven to be a good investment. Have used it for cutting railroad ties with no problem cutting straight and quickly.

"when it was good. . . .
When its good its very but when its bad its very bad.
It seems impossible to keeep the chain on this saw. Ten minutes of work is followed by 10 minutes of fiddling around with the chain mechanism and the bar tensioner system.
Not as reliable as my old model 5 1

great little saw
bought this saw for cutting campfire wood and for light use around home. this saw is a little cold blooded, but if you let it warm up as the instructions tell you, it will run perfect. I only have about 4-5 hours on this saw, but it is light and easy to handle, So far i havn't had any issues what so ever.Well worth the price of 200.00

Nice Little Workhorse
This is my first "upgrade" saw from the common urban chainsaws from your normal big box stores. I was going for better quality/workmanship, reliability, and more power.
It's being used regularly for the past two months, and will be well into the winter (for firewood) and into spring (for pruning). The reliability in starting is much better than any of my previous chainsaws. It feels lighter and runs smoother than I was used to from the others before it. My only regret is I wished I would have sprung for a more powerful model with a longer bar. But compared to my previous three chainsaws of comparable (engine) size, the 240 outperforms them in both reliability and comfort.
