I see a great deal of bad feed back on this saw and several other Husqvarna saws. I own this saw as well as the 455 rancher along with several Stihl saws. I can't complain about any of them! You get what you pay for in either brand. These are both high end saw makers and they have different sizes and models to target different uses like any other competing pro saw maker. The 240 is not designed to rip through big hardwood or be used hard for 6-10 hour days! It's meant for casual use with breaks or cool down periods. It's a great saw for small jobs and it saves your hands from vibrations when limbing or cutting up small(2-6 in dia) trees and saplings. Also, the chain makes a HUGE difference! Get an aggressive chain. Run the fuel out after every use!!! Choke it off don't hit the e stop!!! Keep fuel stabilizers and system cleaners like startron and stabil in your gas can along with fresh gas!!! Another thing many people neglect is basic maintenance. Clean your filters or replace them!!! Saw dust can be larg chips down to microscopic dust that can ruin a carburetor if not cleaned out once and a while. Keeping chains sharp will cut down on the microscopic dust a lot! This said I just wanted to help clear up some confusion on the quality of the 240.

Total piece of junk
from New Hampshire
i have 2 other husky saws now 15 plus years old. i never take the fuel out they run like bulldozers every year but they are big saws. i bought this for limbing and has never worked out of the box. I use canned fuel only, dealer could never get it to work under warranty and Husky would not replace. I will never buy another Husqvarna product ever again.

About Me Do-It-Yourself
This is not your typical 390XP obviously but I wanted a chainsaw for the ATV trails!! This one is perfect! Not too cut down any monsters but for around the house and cutting small size trees and branches this is perfect!! Pretty easy to maintain and fun to cut with! This is not for you if you want to cut down trees, sometimes will need 3-4 cranks to start or iddle funny but for the price of it!! A1 if you looking for a smaller size chainsaw!
Will Not Crank
By Unhappy consumer

This thing Will Not Crank. Floods out. Husband hates this saw. He had a larger Husqvarna saw years ago, but got this one to do little jobs around the house. It's so hard to get cranked. Would not recommend this one to anybody.

I used this product in the yard just to clear some undergrowth. small trees and limbs, less than 6" in diameter destroyed this saw. A simple 6" limb bound the saw, which warped the bar. during the process of repair, the chain brake melted onto the cover and blew the piston. DESTROYED the saw.... Not durable, not very user friendly, not worth your $170+ you will spend. The saw was hard to start, NO MATTER how long you ran it, let it stop, you will spend an hr getting it to re-start.

Terrible saw. I have had nothing but problems with it since day one. Do not waste your money on this one. Buy a different model and save yourself the trouble.
Saw ran 3 times
from Barrie, Ontario
The saw was always difficult to get started (30-40 pulls each time). On my 3rd use the saw smelled like burning plastic and I shut it off. Sent it in for warranty service where Husqvarna refused to warranty the parts or labor saying that it was my fault the saw burnt out and that I shouldn't have used the chain brake while the saw was running (what is the point of a chainbrake if not for it to stop the chain from running). STAY AWAY!
If it would stay on,,,
from Houston, TX
,,, it might be a great value and reliable. I bought this on Wednesday, inboxed it on Saturday the day before Christmas, read the instructions from beginning to to make sure nothing had changed from the first Husqvarna I had bought 15 years ago and tried to put it to work, ! Nothing but frustration after frustration! My sons and I worked all day to trim one tree and couldn't finish because this saw would run for about 5-10 minutes and turn off that was it, would not restart for about an hour. It used a tank of hour to one tank of fuel, which it's not supposed. I loved my first Husqvarna but I hate this one, it's going back for a refund.

Just Spend a little more and get a STIHL
Just wanted a little saw to take camping, instead of always having to take one of my bigger saws. This saw is Almost impossible too start and will not stay running!
