Best Saw for small jobs! This saw is the best you can buy for the price. Definitely the best saw I have ever owned, and will not buy any other brands. I give this saw a five out of five star rating. September 21, 2012
Quite an adequate little saw Bought this little saw for doing firewood, with the view to upgrading as soon as finances allowed. First up, I did some cutting in my parents garden, small trees, pruning etc. After a short while, the saw would stop running whenever you let it die back to an idle and was difficult to re-start. I persisted, and finished the job. My older brother diagnosed this problem as oiling up of the plug due to not running it hard enough, and got me to cut some blue gum out at his place. I picked a nice bough about a foot thick, and went for it, three tanks of fuel, full throttle, no letup. The saw has run like a treat since then. I've since done three trailer loads (10"x5" tandem axle) of pine (radiata). Great little saw. Just have to remember that it is a 'little saw', no torque to speak of. Just keep it screaming and let it do the work, don't try to dog it through or lug the motor. March 25, 2014
This product shames the name Two screws in back came loose. Threads/casing stripped. Temperamental when it comes to starting. SmartStart-ha! Won't start after refill. Won't start if too cold. Same caliber 16" Stihl much easier and consistent startup. Chain constantly needs tightening. This is an entry-level/low-level machine. Not expensive for a reason. November 17, 2013
good luck trying to find a muffler I have model 142. Muffler broke and that has been discontinued! Can't find it at a local dealer, he said 'good luck trying to find one'. He was right. Not in stock or discontinued or out of stock is what I find on line. No help from company "help" call number. Won't buy Husqvarna again if they won't make parts for it, this is BS. November 6, 2013
dead after 2 months light use bought the husqvarna 240 two months ago. it ran well at first. that didnt last long. has since lost power and wont start and remian running. always mixed fuel properly and used the husqvarna bar oil. this saw is junk. I would not buy this again. have since replaced it with an echo. October 16, 2013
240 A little hard starting if not careful flooding. The chain it came with is not the best quality - other than that a well designed saw with good power October 9, 2013
Not bad for the price paid I bought this saw for some light work and it quickly turned into doing some heavy duty work. This little saw had to bring down a large Ash tree that unfortunately was infected with the Emerald Beetle. It dogged slightly and it took a little while to do the final cut to bring the tree down, but this was a rather large tree and I was impressed with how it cut through the hardwood. The final cutup of the tree was handled with ease and the light weight of the saw made it easy to do. It's a little fidgity to start and takes a little longer than I'd like for it to warm up so it doesn't stall, but I'll accept that as me getting used to a new piece of equipment. Nonetheless, overall this is one good little chain saw! September 3, 2013
Scorn piston in less than a cord of wood This saw scorned the piston in less than a cord of wood over a 7-month periond. No warranty at all. Pruning is all this saw is good for! I take care of tools and make sure I mix fuel properly and oil is full. Sharpen every other tank. very disappointed August 15, 2013
