Tower has Broke Twice
Very strong unit, however, the handlebar bracket, part number 5762774-01 has broken twice now.
It is plastic and absorbs the brunt of side-to-side cutting force.
Beware if you "force" the cutter into brush too hard it may break this part.
It's a $20 part to replace, and easy enough to find online, but still, plastic? HUH?

I was in the market for a large brush cutter and did alot of research, in the end I went with the 336FR. When I was looking, the dealer in my area has Husqvarna, Stihl, and Echo all in one place. This was great to have alot of choices but I was 90% sure I would go with the Husqvarna brand due to the other Husqvarna products I own. This brush cutter is top of the line in both quality and value compared to outher units i looked at. I have a large ditch that is to steep for a mower of any kind and was using a Redmax string trimmer for the last 5 years. The Redmax is a great unit but not made for the kind of work I was doing with it.
I have used the 336FR a few times (4 tanks of feul) and could not be more pleased. The extra heads that come with the unit (string, grass, saw) are easy to change and make quick work anything I have used them on. Great power little vibratoin and easy to start. This unit is not for every one but if you need a great brush cutter, not just a string trimmer make sure you take a good look at the 336FR. The only reason did not give 5 stars for durability is I have not even broke in the unit yet. Thanks to Husqvarna for making a great unit!!!

its a monster!!
needed a machine up at deer camp to clear lanes of overgrown brush,,,autumn olive saplings (1 to 5 inch stumps) and anything else that got in our way. Did our research first, boiled down to this model or Stihl FS250. Went with the Husky, no regrets whatsoever. Did purchase the heavier duty harness (glad i did) and extra aftermarket saw blade that has chain saw teeth on it. Didnt matter the scarlett blade that came with it worked great, sawed thru them autumn olives like butter, cleared a lot brush in a short amount of time. Hardest part of the work is piling up all the brush in piles after we use this machine!! Keep it tuned and in good shape, should last forever. Should have bought this years ago to manage the overgrowth. You wont be dissapointed.

I'll start my review saying this is an awesome brushcutter and no I don't work for husqvarna.
I've had this brushcutter for a couple months now. I own 8+ acres from bottom land to rugged hillside and everything in between and with the saw blade i had no problem cutting 2"+ saplings, the three point blade made short work of briars and thick growth, the trimmer head doesn't seem too sturdy but works well.
Before I purchased this machine i done my research and this unit is comparable to the stihl FS250 in both price and quality but what sold me is with this machine you get 2 blades, blade guard, and a awesome double shoulder harness.
The only issue i've had so far is with getting the head at the correct angle and being comfortable(especially on steep hillsides) which i'm only 5' 7" and I think if you were taller or take some time with the harness and the multiple strap holes this shouldn't be a problem.
Overall this is a great machine that is well built and should give many years of service.

Excellent machine with plenty of power
After looking all over the net and discussions with other product owners I went with this machine. I am impressed by the amount of power this unit has; the heavy grass blade is very versatile when cutting brush and tall weeds. It doesn't require tons of throttle to cut and will get you a lot of run time on a tank of gas. Swapping of heads is simple and fairly quick. I use this machine for every cutting purpose on our property and couldn't be happier. It's easy to start and idles nicely. The harness adjusts easy and the machine also balances well. IMO there isn't much else to ask from a machine of this caliber. I have a moderate amount of time on it and durability is great so far. I would recommend this to anyone!!!! And I already have!!!!! Long live 2 strokes!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Still some reservations
The 2 piece grips and 2 piece handle base (where harness attaches) is a step back in quality over older units IMO.
Very easy to start which is what counts a whole lot in my book. Very good on gas which is also a plus.
It packs plenty of power and is the good all rounder I was looking for (I have the 265R powerhouse and 232L so this fills the void nicely). Will tackle a 5inch pine with no hesitation and still efficient enough to eat brush with the grass blade for hours.
I had issue with the powerhead/shaft rotating through the grips during some hard use but believe I have tightened it sufficiently to prevent this from recurring - was not what I was expecting from such a unit though (see pic).
In all I feel I have compromised a little with this unit. I think the motor has plenty of power but feel the integrity of the rest of the unit may shorten the life of this somewhat.

this thing rocks!
It's new, but kicks butt in the woods. With the blade it cuts 3 and 4 inch diameter trees like butter. Balanced and easy to handle. The trimmer head cuts through some pretty thick stuff, too.
