“PLANET is an industry-leading organization that provides these participating students the ability to showcase their work while making lasting connections with industry experts that could pay future dividends,” states John Marchionda, VP of Marketing for Husqvarna. “As an organization, Husqvarna is dedicated to the advancement of the landscape industry and have proudly sponsored this event for the past twelve years.”
Students enrolled in horticulture programs from colleges and universities across the country have the chance to compete in events that are directly related to the skills necessary for a career in the green industry. This annual, three day event also offers a Career Fair which gives the students the opportunity to meet prospective employers in the industry and discuss employment opportunities.
This year’s event was hosted by Joliet Junior College in Joliet, Illinois from March 17–20, 2011.
