HUSQVARNA 372 XP®
I traded in a Lowe's version of a Husqvarna 455 for this 372XP. What a difference! You can dig the dogs in when cutting hardwood and it flies right through. The 455 would pretty much just cut using the weight of the saw.
I heat with wood so don't run it for a living but I'm hoping this is the last saw I buy for a long time. It starts easily, runs strong and doesn't weight a ton. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat!

Bought this saw with a big air filter and a 28 inch and 22 inch bar. Both with full chisel chains. Incredibly light and maneuverable with the 22 inch bar, a little front heavy with the 28 inch. Handles both bars very well when they are buried in a hardwood tree. Air filter stays incredibly clean even after 2 hours of work on a 60+ inch rotten fir snag tree, that left the whole saw a pretty brown color along with everything in a 30 meter radius of the trunk.
When warm starting with the decompression valve occasionally the pull cord does not fully return to the neutral position after a failed starting attempt. Refraining from using the valve seems to correct that issue.
Saw starts very easily unless you spam pull and flood it. Have to pull it like you mean it.
Bolts and allens had to be re-torqued after first few uses but are now seating properly.
Sucks fuel like a piggy. But after being broke in is similarly efficient to a 455 given the difference in tank size.
Price is comparable to both 2172s and Ms 441s and I prefer the performance and balance of this saw over both of the aforementioned.
Would recommend to any one who needs a saw that is a leg up from the firewood crowd.

I bought my saw a little over a year ago for a long lasting firewood saw. I cut about 15 cord a year, and a lot of it is just too big for my old 350 to handle. I run with a 20" Full Chisel, and a 24" full chisel and have been nothing but impressed at the power and dependability of the saw! Make sure to run only non ethanol premium, and good oil, and I am confident this saw will last a life time for someone like me.

Bad out of the box
I bought a brand new 372xp and it had a bad crank bearing straight out of the box.Kind of left me wondering about the husqvarna quality assurance program.I returned it to my vendor and after about a week husqvarna agreed to replace it with a brand new saw.The new saw is a beast. The only negative is it floods easy.My 07 372 is still strong and i hope i have as much luck with the new saw.

great saw for felling and bucking hardwoods
I purchased this saw as my largest saw of my line up. I wanted a saw that could run a 24'' or28''bar with ease and this saw does just that. The build of the saw is great very robust. The saw is very well balanced and is a pleasure to use. I hope the few crank bearing failures I've read about have been just flukes or problems due to gas. I bought this saw to make sure I could get a saw without auto tune. I know the 550 562 and 576 are prob selling well but I like simple and for me when something messed up in the woods I like the fact I can throw a new carb on without programing ect. I also will say my dealer #Monroe Tractor in Monroe, NC# was great to work with and Tony H was very helpful. I look forward to dealing with them again.

Not like the older genration saw
I had a 372xp I purchased about 5 years ago and it was an excellent saw until it seized up after moderately heavy use. I purchased another 372xp in December of 2012 and immediately noticed a lack of power compared to the former saw. I brought it to a tech who has sold and serviced Husqvarna and Jonsered for many years to get tuned and did not like what he had to say. The new 372's have a different ignition system and the bearing are sealed in plastic which have a short life expectancy. He said that he has seen many saws come in with blown bearings after light use. I didn't think I would say this, but I may be turning into a Stihl operator in the near future. I am not impressed with Husqvarna's quality.
