HUSQVARNA 357 XP®
POOR CHAINSAW POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT
I paid alot of money for this saw in 2005, I thought if I bought a new "professional" saw it should last a long time. 2 years after I bought this saw it started acting up, not running right, I spent about another $600 trying to get it fixed at at several different shops, and it dont even idle, what a waste, I know the warrenty is over but a $800 dollar saw should last longer than 3 years, I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING HUSQVARNA AGAIN.

This product is excellent for home use. light weight, easy to start and very simple to maintained, all this at a good price. Only adjust the chain regularly, it get slack easily, but very easy to tied back.

I purchased a 357XP some years ago. It is a fine saw with the exception of an oil leak that was evident shortly after the warranty ran out. Talking with other people who own Husqvarna saws, they have all said "they leak". I am disappointed in this news as I paid good money for a supposed quality product that makes a oily mess wherever I set it down. I plan to have the saw repaired, but if the problem reapers, you have lost a costumer.

Excellant Saw for the Pro Logger
I purchased the 357xp back in October 2010 for light logging & cordwood. This saw totally blew me away I own a 346xp and a 372xp and was looking for a filler saw between the two. The 357xp has an amazing amount of power it is very comfortable to use all day and built like a rock for such a compact saw it will almost go toe to toe with the 372xp with less the weight this saw is a great purchase and I will keep coming back to Husqvarna for a long time.

High power to weight ratio.
Easy and very reliable starting. (even if you forget to run the carb dry for several months of storage) Very fast chain speed and powerfull. Easy access to clean and maintain. Is easy to control, even with the power it provides. While cutting 18 inch dia. firewood,(red oak, white oak and pin oak) after marking the length to be cut, it can easily keep ahead of two people loading the trailer.

Tired of 42cc box store chainsaws with no power. This saw has a lot more power (great for 12 plus inch hardwoods). Very happy with saw and power. It is easy to flood until you understand the operation (only choke 3-4 pulls) then take choke off or it will flood. Other negative choke/on off switch seems cheap for a high end saw. Hope this helps.

Converting from Stihl
I contacted the large equipment dealer I had purhased my previous chainsaw from, 27 years ago. I was considering replacing the old Stihl with the MS 362 but wanted to talk to both the sales and service department about the Husqvarna 357 XP versus the MS 362. I especially wanted to hear the service side of it as they are a large dealer selling both brands. Both sales and service recommended this saw. Service went on to say they have never had one warranty issue with the 357 XP. It is light weight for such a powerful saw! I am answering the durability rating only as good because the saw is still so new. So far the saw and support has been impressive.

Great power to weight ratio- Thin plastic
This is my second 357xp and have always been impressed with the power to weight ratio. If you need a ground saw that can turn a 20" chain all day without wearing you out this is it. As a professional who runs saws all day, this saw is a must have. The only negative is the plastic which is too thin and prone to cracking (Gas tank handle assembly) Beef up the plastic/durability and it's a super 5star saw.
