Mulch Rather Than Bag
The old mower was on its last legs so when it wouldn't start I decided to go for a new one; glad I did. The dealer talked me into going with a mulch kit rather than bags so I decided to give it a try. What a diffenence! It takes me half as long to mow and it looks great. I am very happy with the mower (tractor). There are some options I'm already looking at.

A few things that need to be improved.
I have the fabricated deck which is heavier than the stamped deck , I also have the blower kit which adds additional weight . The deck lift assist springs for the standard deck and bagging kit would probably be ok but with the options I have they need to be stronger . I can manage ok but my wife or an older person would most likely have a problem lifting the deck .Also the full bag schematic on the blower kit seems the be opposite of the way it really works.The indicator ball starts out down and when the bags are about half full it comes up and stays therefore your guessing when full .

Does The Job
After looking at the dealer sold John Deere's and the Kubota's with the 42" & 48" decks I decided to go with the Husqvarna YTH22V42LS model which are only sold threw a Husqvarna dealer because of the heaver frame the 22hp Kawasaki engine plus the heavy duty fabricated deck, To make a long story short I have close to 2 acres of grass which had not been cut for 4 weeks but the 22hp Kawasaki cut rite through it with out a struggle including the super thick grass that grows over the septic drain field . The mower itself has a nice ride along with a tight turning radius as long as you take your turns slow and don't have it running wide open, As far as the hydrostatic transmission goes this is my first experience with one but so far I really like how it operates although it takes some getting use to, but after I got the hang of it I love it.

Great tractor.
I am really impressed with the quality of the fabricated mowing deck. I added the mulch kit and it works great. The washout port is extremely handy since my lawn is often damp when I mow and the deck washes out nicely keeping my garage floor a lot cleaner and with less cut grass odor. The style is second to none and the ease of operation and handling exceeded my expectations. I would definetly recommend this tractor to my friends.

Husqvarna YTH22V42LS
It has the power to mow through thick grass without slowing. It is very manueverable and turns really tight. The ride is very comfortable with low vibration.

My Best mower ever
I am 63 and have had this mower 2 months. It is far and away the best mower I have ever owned and I am 63 years old. It has plenty of power and everything is easy to reach and is well thought out. I am glad I bought the heavy duty model with the welded deck and gauges. I had a Cub Cadet zero turn that cost more and was a plastic piece of junk. Thanks for still making such a great product in this day of cheap, throwaway mowers. I would highly recommend this mower to anyone.

Starting
I really enjoy my mower. The only problem that I have with the mower is starting it. On somedays it takes a while to get it to start. I even had to jump it off once. This mower has great features and is a pleasure to ride. The cut is great. Is there a mulching kit out for this mower yet?
