HUSQVARNA 550 XP®
Fantastic all around saw!!!
When I say Husqvarna found the sweet spot in chainsaws, I mean the 550XP. I have cut close to 40 trees with this saw since I purchased it in only a matter of 5 days. Everything from popular, cedar, hackberry, red oak, white pine and ranging in size from 6(pine) to 36(red oak) inches in diameter. Running a 20 inch bar with the H23 chain I haven't found a thing that this saw can't go through like butter. Read the manual before you touch the saw and follow the break in instructions and maintenence and this saw won't fail you. Take care of this saw and it will take care of you. I could go on about everything that is great about this saw all day! Thanks for making a fantastic product Husqvarna!

Husqvarna hit a home run with this one !
I own three other Husqvarna saws, a 395XP, a 362XP, and a 350. I bought the 550XP to replace my 350 which is 9 years old. I love the features of the 550XP. The anti vibration feature of this saw let's me cut all day long with minimum fatigue. The high RPM is great for limbing. Autotune provides me with maximum power regardless of temperature. I recently was cutting in -4 degree F and this saw started on the 3rd pull and went through wood like a hot knife through butter. I also like the side mounted chain tensioner, and the excellant sighting lines for felling. Unlike my 350, it comes with a replaceable rim sprocket which is nice. I totally recommend this saw !

Saw it truly awesome. I had some issues with it starting the first few times but after running a few tanks of fuel through it, it now starts very easy. I read this can happen and I guess its got something to do with the auto tune. I promise if your patient with it you will not be disappointed. Its light, powerful and cuts very fast . Truly a pleasure to operate. I will never buy outdoor equipment again without the husqvarna name on it.

smooth running saw
I recently purchased the 550XP to compliment my 372XP. I used to run a rancher 55 prior to the 550XP. Since it is an Auto Tune saw, it takes a couple tanks of fuel to get it dialed in. I have ran about 7 tanks through it now and it has been a great saw to operate, It's light, starts easy, and runs strong. It's pretty easy to run this saw for extended periods without feeling fatigued.

Me and my neighbor go out on weekends to cut wood for our homes,i had been using a 10 year old 142 that my grandfather gave me and he uses a 445.i went to the local dealer looking for parts for the little engine that did, and got looking at the new saws and found a saw on sale because of its use for a domo.so i took it home.the next day i proceded to out cut the 445 by allot.i cut through fresh red oak like a hot knife through butter,i worked with a tee service for a few years using husqvarna chainsaws of all sizes, but never one that was as nimble and powerful as the 550xp.next saw whatever husqvarna makes to top this one.

really happy with my new 550 xp.Some reviews suggested there is or may be a problem with starting or idling. Break in is critical on these models. Make you're purchase from an authorized dealer that can go through the correct break in procedures and you`l have no problem. It does require a warm up period but remember this is a high performance saw, not the same saw you`re grandpa used.

I was a little worried about the auto tune carb, but after doing some research and talking to the mechanic at the shop I went with it and couldn't be happier. It is lighter and slimmer than my stihl but performs just as good if not better. Does take a few more pulls to get it started but not bad at all.

Impressed from the first pull.
I am so very impressed with this saw. It is like the Porsche 911 turbo of the chain saw world, or a 50 cal machine gun. You point it at what you want to go away and it makes it happen. I traded up from a 435 to the 550 XP and wondered why I bought the 435 in the first place. Thank you Husqvarna for making such a kick butt and take names saw.
