HUSQVARNA 372 XP®
I recently made the switch from running all Stihl saws to Husqvarna and WOW am I happy I did! The balance and power of this 372xp with a 24" bar and full chisel chain is amazing compared to the Stihl saws of the same size, my guys love the performance of the saw especially in hardwood like oak and hard maple and this saw will out-cut the other brand hands down. The saw starts very eaisly when hot or cold, it is very well balanced and power to weight ratio is excelent as well. This saw is a true pleasure to use. I noticed that this saw and the other new Husqvarna saws that I have purchased are so much smoother running with much less viberation than the competition it is unreal! I would highly recommend this saw to any professional Arborist/logger without question. I recently let another one of my Arborist friends use this saw on a White Oak removal and he was blown away at the power, speed and low viberations he is now selling off his Stihl units to get several of these 372xp saws. I have also made the change from MS200T climbing saws over to the Husqvarna 338xpt and my climbers LOVE them!!

I have owned my 372 for 4 years. Excellent saw! I upgraded from a 365.
Only gripe I too have is the Allen screws loosening up.
Over all good starting saw and relyable

After 5 years of cutting 8 cord of hardwoods per year with a couple of homeowner type saws, I decided to upgrade to the 372xp, and am I glad I did, it makes cutting firewood more fun than ever, it is light and fast and goes through Hickory with ease. My only regret is that I didn't get one sooner. I run it with a 20" bar and it works great. The only problem I found were the screws vibrating loose, something the dealer should warn the costumer about.

25 cords a year
When I had decided to buy a new chainsaw, I had intended to buy the 357, a friend advised me to step up to the 372. The cost was market compatible, the weight is acceptable, the saw never gives up on me, plenty of power. It has it's moments of hard to start, first time of the season or really wet conditions, but I am happy with the saw, it shows up to work. It does use more fuel and a wrap around bar would be nice. But I do love this saw.

ONE BIG PROBLEM !!
You cannot get PARTS !!
Simple items such as replacement "Chain Drive-Wheel(Sprocket)"
Replacement screws/bolts that vibrate loose and are lost.
This is a big problem and Husqvarna is UNRESPONSIVE to inquiries.
Even their local, authorized Servicers are unable to get these and many other parts from Husqvarna.
If you cannot get replacement parts, the saw becomes useless.

Great general purpose saw
While arguably not as good as the old 272xp the 372xp still gets the job done better than any other saw in its class. From felling to limbing to weekend fire wood the 372 delivers on weight, power, and reliability.

My New 372XP
After I realized my equipment requirements had expanded beyond the 455 Rancher as my biggest saw I went to my dealer for advise. He directed me to the 372XP . I took his advise and bought one with a 24" bar and 28" bar with a couple loops of chain each. When I put the 24" full comp full chisel chain against a 22" log of seasoned black locust it sliced through it like a hot knife through butter. I was very impressed to say the least. Next I put the 28" bar on with full skip full chisel chain and layed into the locust log agin with the same results. Next test was a 48" diameter Red Oak log been laying in the back yard since September 2011. I squeezed the throttle and layed the 28" bar on the log and it ate through it with authority. Very impressed again. The old 455 Rancher is a great saw no doubt but this professional grade 372XP saw is a whole 'nother critter. I had to try something I had read about these saws that you could throttle down during a cut and then throttle back up and actually regain RPMS. In that same Red Oak log with a 28" bar I tried it ( with me leaning on it pretty hard) and to my great surprise it worked. AMAZING! I highly recommend Husqvarna saws in general but this saw's power to weight ratio, antivibe characteristics and general versatility make it an exceptional choice in my eyes at least. I highly recommend this saw to anyone whose demands are above what consumer grade saws can deliver. The price warrants it being used often but it is worth every penny.
