HUSQVARNA 372 XP® 4.4 5 32 32
Power when it's needed! We cut our own firewood, and living where we do, we have a lot of hardwood trees to cut. Around here, hickory and elm are the two hardest woods to cut. We were using a Jonsered 625ii and wanted a saw that was close in size and power to that saw, and that could run a 24" bar with ease. After looking at a lot of different saws, we chose the 372XP. We haven't used it a ton since we bought it, but we have put it through it's paces. The first thing that we really like is the snap on cover to access the spark plug and air filter. All of our other saws always involved screws to remove the cover. The air filter on this saw is the best that I've ever seen on any saw. It's like an automotive filter! It's easy to screw on and off. We also noticed that it stays pretty clean compared to other saws that we've run. The one complaint that we have about the saw is that it's easy to flood. We've flooded this thing a few times. I suppose that's just a matter of getting used to the saw. This saw is really easy on bar and chain oil. Make sure you read your manual and adjust the oil flow accordingly. Ours came factory one turn out, but we have a 24" bar and the book calls for 3 turns out. It's decent as far as gas consumption. Power is absolutely amazing. This thing screams! The other thing that we noticed is how smooth this thing is compared to our older saws. The anti-vibe on this thing is great. It's actually a bit lighter than the Jonsered 625ii even though this is a bigger saw and has a bigger bar than the Jonsered that we ran. Once this saw is warmed up, it's a breeze to start. You barely pull the cord once and it fires up ready to work. We've never had a warm saw start quite as easy. We don't use the decompression valve, but that's because we've never had one on a saw before and start ours fine without it. It is conveniently located at the top of the saw as opposed to the side of the saw like the older models. The clutch is an inboard clutch which is nice. The chain tensioner is the simplest that I've ever used. It's a really nice saw. It feels like it was designed to be easy to use, operate, and maintain. The owners manual could explain greasing the needle bearing a little better. Other than that, we feel that this saw is a quality saw and wouldn't be afraid to by another one if a tornado blew this one away! October 7, 2011
Great saw. Would buy another one. The 372 xp is a fast and strong saw. You can cut all day with it and it never gives any problems. Great for bulking, felling, and fire wood. March 25, 2014
Great saw This saw has plenty of power and is easy to crank, even in cold temps. I have been extremely pleased with it and would recommend it to anyone who cuts firewood to heat with or sale. I have ran 3 tanks of gas through it and it continues to get stronger. March 4, 2014
The perfect saw!! I got this saw today because I needed something with more power and the ability to support a larger bar. Coming from a 460 Rancher that pulls a 24' bar just fine this one rips through these oak trees like they are butter. I currently run a 28' bar which is plenty for my property. But, I have heard that this saw does flood easy. No problems yet. February 26, 2014
Powerhouse I traded in a Lowe's version of a Husqvarna 455 for this 372XP. What a difference! You can dig the dogs in when cutting hardwood and it flies right through. The 455 would pretty much just cut using the weight of the saw. I heat with wood so don't run it for a living but I'm hoping this is the last saw I buy for a long time. It starts easily, runs strong and doesn't weight a ton. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat! December 21, 2013
Good Saw Bought this saw with a big air filter and a 28 inch and 22 inch bar. Both with full chisel chains. Incredibly light and maneuverable with the 22 inch bar, a little front heavy with the 28 inch. Handles both bars very well when they are buried in a hardwood tree. Air filter stays incredibly clean even after 2 hours of work on a 60+ inch rotten fir snag tree, that left the whole saw a pretty brown color along with everything in a 30 meter radius of the trunk. When warm starting with the decompression valve occasionally the pull cord does not fully return to the neutral position after a failed starting attempt. Refraining from using the valve seems to correct that issue. Saw starts very easily unless you spam pull and flood it. Have to pull it like you mean it. Bolts and allens had to be re-torqued after first few uses but are now seating properly. Sucks fuel like a piggy. But after being broke in is similarly efficient to a 455 given the difference in tank size. Price is comparable to both 2172s and Ms 441s and I prefer the performance and balance of this saw over both of the aforementioned. Would recommend to any one who needs a saw that is a leg up from the firewood crowd. November 17, 2013
Great Saw! I bought my saw a little over a year ago for a long lasting firewood saw. I cut about 15 cord a year, and a lot of it is just too big for my old 350 to handle. I run with a 20" Full Chisel, and a 24" full chisel and have been nothing but impressed at the power and dependability of the saw! Make sure to run only non ethanol premium, and good oil, and I am confident this saw will last a life time for someone like me. November 11, 2013
Bad out of the box I bought a brand new 372xp and it had a bad crank bearing straight out of the box.Kind of left me wondering about the husqvarna quality assurance program.I returned it to my vendor and after about a week husqvarna agreed to replace it with a brand new saw.The new saw is a beast. The only negative is it floods easy.My 07 372 is still strong and i hope i have as much luck with the new saw.
